*Sigh* I'm not saying it is, I'm saying officially released LEGO sets have featured scenes from movies with inherently violent subject matter, some worse than what we've seen in the Netflix shows so the argument that we won't get those versions of the characters because of the violent nature of the shows, Daredevil in particular, is inherently flawed.

Right, but they didn't show his head getting bashed in, we just saw form an angle below the car where blood was falling to the ground with every bash. How many times have we seen that trick in movies, even some that are pg 13. Mind you, it went on for several minutes and the implications were dark but again, we didn't really see that much.

Over the years, LEGO has become more lax over violent themes as long as the scenes they portray in set form are relatively pg. I doubt they'll ever do any characters based on the Netflix shows but I think that has more to do with target markets and Marvel's wishes to promote the movies over anything else. If the Defenders or the Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider and Agents of SHIELD appear in Infinity War(I sincerely hope they do) or its sequel, we might have a chance. I mean come on, you can't honestly tell me the violence in those shows is as graphic as the first Indiana Jones where you see peoples faces melt off. That scarred me as a kid. It probably has more to do with the adult themes and language if anything. As the Ideas sets have tended to be more geared towards AFOLS, it would be interesting if LEGO ever made a series of sets specifically targeted at adult fans. It could simply be titled AFOLS. I have serious doubts it'd ever happen though. The best we can hope for is getting comic-inspired versions of the characters in regular sets. We need Daredevil at the very least. With the existence of the ear piece from Black Panther and the 3 length bars, there's never been a better time for one to appear. I could see them do something like they did with Suicide Squad where the characters were released in a series of sets with some of them being sortof movie inspired with most being comic-based, but again that was for a movie not a tv show.

Ah good! Although the AT-ST is maybe bigger than minifig scale, I think it's a good size. It at least fits all the other vastly over-sized Star Wars vehicles over the past several years. The TIE Striker, while an excellent model, is massive, way waaay too big. They could have made a great looking minifig-scale Striker for half the price and it would have been perfectly fine. It's just a modern LEGO trend that makes them more money but it makes it much harder to collect more sets, instead I have to choose maybe just 2 or 3 a year if I want sets from other themes(which I always do).
-
Thanks for the comparison pics, I have the new AT-ST but not the AT-DP, they seem to be about scale. Btw, the whole top of the AT-ST is back a stud further than it's supposed to be. It looked a little odd to me until I got down to the profile image of the old and new AT-ST and then it became abundantly clear.

The bunker set looks fantastic, way better than Battle on Takodona and with a couple more Shore Troopers to boot! The Y-Wing looks good but I'm not a huge fan of Y-Wings so it's an easy pass for me. The Landspeeder and Desert Skiff look ok but another easy pass for me. Is the black stormie in the Bunker set Saw Gererra? I really hope so, It'd be really unfortunate if we don't get his character this wave.

I'm very excited about Yoda's Starfighter but I don't think they got the cockpit shape quite right. I look forward to better images. The Phantom 2.0 looks fantastic and I look forward to seeing Blind Kanan and Thrawn. Dual on Naboo... looks bad. Pretty bad in fact. I think a set like that should have been at a larger price point or something because the tiny hallway and small dual chamber with exposed functions doesn't work so well. It doesn't look very polished either. The Duel on Geonosis was a better set, at least it looked really nice and nailed the architecture despite most people not really caring for it.
-
Those looks awesome, too bad chances are slim we'll ever get official FF figs, at least until Marvel gets the movie rights back, which I suspect will be in a few years. Punisher and Moon Knight would be fantastic(no pun intended) to get as well.

Based on his render, the set looks really good to me. Lola looks great and so does Detroit Steel.

The Phantom 2.0 sounds pretty nice and I'm intrigued by the new slope piece. Thrawn's hair doesn't sound like a good fit though. I'm looking forward to blind Kanan, though I was really hoping he was going to keep the Jedi mask from the season 3 finale for season 4, I really liked that. His new look isn't that cool tbh, though I guess he can't really fight much now.

I'm so happy I have a second chance to get Revan, and 2x VIP points to boot! I'm surprised there isn't a "spend $50 to get exclusive minifig" So that's ice. I'll be getting the AT-ST for sure.
-
Oh thank goodness, I was concerned for a moment. His wording made it sound like it was just a recolor. It's odd that it uses the new 6x6 piece as that does seem too big but we'll see how it looks. I'm glad the Clone Wars head isn't being used, I assume it's the latest mold which looks very good. True but the difference is an Interceptor and a Starfighter are 2 completely different vehicles that look nothing alike while the rank of an imperial minifig only means a difference in color and printing. Apples and oranges, but yeah it get's confusing when incorrect terms are used. I wouldn't be surprised if the fault in this case is LEGO's though, using the wrong term for the ship. At least the got it right the past few times.
-
Wait, so Yoda's Interceptor isn't his unique one but rather a pallet swap of a normal one? That's pretty disappointing but I'm a sucker for Jedi Interceptors and my favorite color is green so I might get it. Man I love those ships. Hopefully there will at least be several improvements over Obi-Wan's, particularly with the interior. Anakin's at least had a much better interior. They both nailed the shaping though, and look fantastic together on my shelf. Wait, you said Jedi Starfighter, do you mean a Jedi Starfighter or a Jedi Interceptor because there's a huge difference. Can someone clear this up please? I'd be even more disappointed if it's a Starfighter instead of an Interceptor.

The thing is, There are pieces like the ratcheted joint being used in this new version that provide more than enough sturdiness without limiting poseabillity. The problem is that TLG doesn't seem to think it's a priority in walkers. There are also ball joints and friction extenders and pistons that are also options for stability. That said, at least it's very accurate and easily the best version yet, save the UCS one we got several years ago.

I actually forgot she was in the movie because she's such a d-list, out-of-left-field character to have as a big bad. I get the feeling she'll be a red herring just like how Doctor Strange will likely end up with Baron Mordo or Dormammu being behind the whole thing. Also, Ego is not a hero and never will be. I think in the movie, he's going to be somewhere in the middle, if not a secondary villain to be the devil on Starlord's shoulder.

I inferred from the set description that it has a walking feature. It certainly made it sound like it has one, in that case I'm a little disappointed. The legs better have decent poseabillity, though it appears the feet are pretty much locked in place. It frustrates me to no end when TLG gives us walkers that can barely bend there legs when there's no reason why they couldn't. The interior is lacking and additional seat, that's unfortunate. It's still the best one we've gotten though so it's still a must have for me.I just scowered LEGO's website and I gotta say, I'm even more impressed by the Rogue One sets, with the exception of the AT-ST, really LEGO? the poseabillity in the legs is awful! You can do better. I don't think they'll be any better than the AT-AP from Rebels. At least it looks as good. I absolutely love Krennic's Shuttle and the U-Wing has pretty much won me over, especially with the wings folded back. I'm very happy that the Hovertank actually has a fairly decent interior space and the TIE Striker is a beautiful build from nearly every angle. It's going to be tough to decide which ones to get as I have a limited budget.
-
I'm glad the AT-ST seems to have a walking feature. I always hate it when they release walkers that can't walk. I mean come on, you have the pieces available to provide enough rigid support to give it proper mobility. It looks great, certainly the most accurate version to date. I hope the interior looks good. I really like the whole wave. Krennics ship looks fantastic, minus the underside of the wings as always, but the accuracy of the design and the way the panels all line up and having the canopy fitting perfectly, I don't know, there's just something very aesthetically pleasing about that. I quite like the hovertank too, and its price and minifig selection makes it a very affordable and desirable purchase. The figs for the AT-ST are great as well.

I'd honestly be perfectly fine with Yondu getting a red mohawk piece for his fin, after all his fin from the comics is closer to that piece. A new piece would be great too. I could see it being used in reverse for a sleek, fast character for one of LEGO's original series or as details on vehicles and such. It could be very versatile if done right. I suspect Mantis will get a new hair piece with her antennae molded into it. Btw, is anyone else hoping one of the sets will be a brick-built Ego the Living Planet? That would be pretty sweet and I wouldn't mind if it wasn't very big as long as it was well designed. We'll at least get his minifig form I'm sure since he'll be the main villain(?) Of course we'll get some new ships, likely a new Milano, but I'd like at least one decent playset.

I'm honestly going to be pretty annoyed if Groot is a "baby" the whole movie. It's a cute gimmick but I have a bad feeling it's going to vastly overstay its welcome. I really like Groot at his normal size, not to mention he's a far better asset to the team full grown. I think a nanofig might be the best choice for a baby Groot but I could see them using the new babyfig mold piece, though it would need to be remolded with a more Groot-like head. I doubt we'll get another normal sized Groot and I think the brick-built one we have is pretty good and has a lot of poseibility, far better than a bigfig imho. I think Rocket is perfectly fine the way he is, he doesn't need to be 100% to scale with the other figs. The best way he could be done differently would be a Golem-esque mold.

I'm guessing they are just giving her the arms and legs from the Woody figure from Toy Story. Those were interesting parts that never got reused, plus they wouldn't have to make a new mold for them. The thing is, they'd probably have to include basically an entire other minifig for a normal version if it's even included. Honestly I'm much more interested in the Coulson/Detroit Steel set and what it'll look like. I just don't care for the current Ms. Marvel and the Super Adaptoid, a new Cap variant, and some jet aren't convincing me it would be worth a purchase. None of those things really appeal to me that much. It's going to have to be a pretty amazing set in order to change my mind.

I gotta say, the set I'm most looking forward to is Yoda's Starfighter. It's being called a Jedi Starfighter but surely it's an Interceptor correct? They only ever showed his Interceptor in the show. The Jedi Interceptors are by far my favorite Star Wars ship so this will probably be a must have for me if this is the case. I feel like rest are not going to meet expectations, particularly Duel of Fates. I'm interested in that one but I'm tempering my expectations. The Desert Skiff and Landspeeder are both a giant 'meh' to me and we know nothing about this supposed Lando set. The winter wave isn't looking so good tbh. At least there's the RO sets to look forward to, I actually quite like most of them. I don't really understand what your point is here, I think you might be a little blinded by nostalgia. Like with everything else, they want to make them better and better and they are doing just that. The original Qui-Gon and Darth Maul were great but they are dated by modern LEGO standards. The more recent figs are better in every conceivable way. Also, LEGO is a business that's trying to make money and they know minifigs sell sets. When they include the same exact minifigs every single time, few people are going to be willing to buy those sets. For example, in the Marvel Superheroes line, they've been including the same Spider-Man in 12 sets to date and if it weren't for the other minifigs in those sets, they'd bomb hard. If you collected every set in a wave and had 12 of the exact same minifig(not counting army builder type characters) wouldn't you feel kinda frustrated and feel like it wasn't worth the money? If your point is that sets should be able to stand on there own merit with quality builds, then I'd agree, though the inclusion of new figs are still quite necessary and desired.

Hammer's face would ruin the Adaptoid so it should just be the default face. I seriously doubt it'd be anything else. I do hope Iron Man is using the new helmet mold for something fresh, also with regards to the new Cap, how freakin' hard is it for them to give him a helmet! Are we ever going to get one? He really needs the Flash cowl in blue and white for a proper comic version and I could see the top part of the Ultron helmet being used for an MCU version. At least he's getting a new variant. I still have 0 interest in the modern Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers will always be my preference and her character was far more likable before she took over the Captain mantle from Mar-Vell) but those new limb pieces sound interesting. I'm still curious as to what the jet will look like, I keep picturing the Black Panther one in my head for some reason. Will Cap be piloting it or will it be a villain vehicle?

That is insanely awesome! I'm very impressed with how detailed and accurate you were able to get with it. One of the best technic builds I've seen in awhile for sure.
-
It doesn't even use any updated building techniques... wow that's terrible. The new hair pieces are perfect but those are the only new things in this set. Just wow.
-
So far, the winter wave sounds like a mixed bag. On one hand, we're getting Coulson, Lola, She-Hulk(s) and Red Hulk, on the other we are getting Detroit Steel(an odd choice) ANAD Ms. Marvel, another Iron Man variant(or ANAD Iron MAN who is actually a girl but is still called Iron MAN for some stupid reason) another Cap variant(which is rumored to have the helmet we've all bean waiting for so that could be great) a lousy set for the Hulks, and (yet another) jet. As someone who HATES ANAD Marvel, I'm worried the rest of the year will be focused on the current Marvel trend rather than more traditional comic sets like we got this year.
