Dangit! It looks very sand green in that picture. Oh well.... I will never understand why they made him grey for the movie when he's clearly green in every single interpretation. It would be like making Gamora purple.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Toa Palpo replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
^THIS!^ I honestly have no interest in any of the goofy suits when we could have gotten some legitimate, awesome variants from the comics. The only one I like is the Glam Metal Batsuit because I think it looks pretty sick. We really should have gotten a Batman Beyond suit at the bare minimum. We could have gotten Gotham by Gaslight, Sinestro Corp, Batman Incorporated, Knightfall suit, One Million, Earth-2, Red Son, Noel, Blackest Night, Brightest Day, Justice League 3000, etc. At least we've gotten Dark Knight of the Round Table and Zur-en-Arrh. -

I love Two-Face's and Bane's vehicles! Harley's truck and Scarecrow's copter are "meh". The Batwing looks good but if the truck comes with it, it's going to be a very expensive set. I'm hoping the Two-Face and Bane vehicles are cheap. -
Beautiful! Excellent work, I think King's Landing is my favorite but they all look great.

It may not be film accurate but I love the new sand green Drax! It's certainly more comic accurate. The leg printing looks great, as does the tattooing, just as good as the last one and are those dual molded legs with black boots I see? Excellent! 2017 is going to be an expensive year between the 3 MCU movie waves, the LBM sets and Star Wars ep8 sets...

I'm so glad we're getting another Republic Tank, I missed out on the first one. It looks great. I can't tell much from the Vader transformation set but it seems like a cheap way to gt the updated helmet so that alone is worth it for me. The freemaker sets actually look pretty great but I seriously doubt I'll get any of them. The UCS sounds like it might be another playset judging by what Delta said. Maybe it's at least something new or at least and update and expansion of say, that Bespin set from years ago. Either that or a remake of an old UCS or a UCS of a prequel vehicle, which I'd be totally for.

Bane looks awesome. Here's hoping he's in a relatively cheap set. -
Given how bulky his armor looks in the trailer, I'm hoping Starlord gets a backpack/armor piece for his jetpack or maybe just a reprint/recolor of the SWAT vest.

The skiff is better than I initially thought but the set on a whole seems really unnecessary and unappealing. The only thing I'll be getting form this wave of sets is Yoda's Jedi Starfighter because I can't pass up an Eta-2! Plus I think it looks better than the source material for once.
-
I just read the review of the Phantom II on Brickset, I'm very pleased to see that it can, in fact, connect to the Ghost. The sets not being out in the US until March is rather frustrating but at least it gives me time to catch up with sets from this year I haven't nabbed yet and the Azure Angel from 2015, my window is closing on that one!
-
I think the Scariff bunker set's scale is fine to me honestly. I am rather disappointed that pretty much all of the vehicles we got for this wave barely featured in the film but hey, it was a great excuse for an amazing new AT-ST to be released as well as some new vehicles in that I'm sure will feature again in Rebels, comics, etc. I know amount of screen time shouldn't affect whether or not a set is good but it certainly takes something away from it like the snow speeder from TFA wave. I have it, it's a great set, very well designed and has a unique shape but it not being in the movie like it was supposed to, save for sitting in the background of 1 scene really does diminish the appeal.

I must say that Bane buggy looks decent. Hopefully the set that includes him won't be terribly expensive. -
Those Guardians figs look great! I can't wait to see the sets and the rest of the figs. Taserface looks good, I expect we'll see Yondu with the new fin as well with one of those old bolt pieces for his arrow. I like the updated Starlord armor and Mantis looks really good.

I completely agree. I'd much, much rather we get something new. If Rocket still has his Warbird, perhaps we can get a set of that. It's a slightly smaller Milano-like ship with bigger guns and a different color scheme. I think that would be the best compromise between people who missed out on the Milano(it's still pretty easily available in the after market unlike the Ant-Man set) and those of us who did get it and don't want one of only 3 sets in a small wave to be a rehash. Multiple Quinjets are unfortunate but it's more acceptable because we get the core Avengers almost every year and they get way more sets. Guardians, however, we'll only see during a movie release with a very limited run. Plus, chances are, given Marvel's movie release schedule, it will be some time before we get another Guardians movie and wave of sets to boot(though I think it's a very safe bet they'll appear in 1 or 2 of the Infinity War movies and I'd imagine a couple of the crew members would appear in a set.). I really like that mini Milano! The shaping is very well done and it appears there's even a microfigure in it. It appears white though, I'm not sure who that could be. The small picture makes it look like White Tiger but that obviously can't be it.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

So who else immediately wanted a Mister Sinister minifig as soon as they saw Calendar Man's cape? Also, does anyone else find it rather odd that the Riddler keeps getting racing vehicles? First that drag racer, now a race car. It doesn't really seem like it would fit his character. That said, I think it came out well and I like some of the clever techniques employed like the side mirrors and the headlights. I feel like the flick fire missiles should have been hidden behind the headlights rather than popping up from the back as they fly pretty strait and don't have much of an arc like flick fire missiles do. I reeaally want theat Croc bigfig. Given how great these sets are, it's going to be a hard choice on what to get and what not to get. Depending on how expensive he'll be to BL, I think I'll just do that as the rest of the set for me is secondary. Sure Zebra Man and Tarantula are cool and hey the Truck has a lot of personality, just not $70 worth of personality. I'd rather spend $15-$20 on Croc(although I get the feeling he'll be around as much as the Rancor) and use the $50-ish I'd save on something else, like the Mister Freeze and Catwoman sets. -
I'd honestly love it if the gave us a version of Spidey with the Man-Bat wings, perhaps in the set with Vulture so he can sort of glide after him.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

I honestly think Clayface turned out really well! Perhaps it's simply a matter of expectation because what I expected was far smaller and less detailed. I think what we got looks really great and provides a surplus of medium nougat parts. I'm also glad they included a hammer arm to swap out. The only things about the set I'm disappointed in are the minifig selection and the fact that it isn't hinged in the corners of the mouth so it can be opened and closed. -
Well since the main 2017 topic got locked, after the most recent episode of Rebels, who else is hoping to finally get a TIE Defender set!
-
So who else immediately thought the enemy vehicles in the gotg trailer looked like the Galador spaceship? *shudders* I imagine we'll get one in a future set. I got the last Milano so I'm perfectly fine with there not being a new one, plus it was an incredibly well designed set, I can't imagine many improvements. I'd honestly rather get sets based on new vehicles and locations. I must say, the more I look at Lola in the Detroit Steel set, the more I like it. It's not perfect by any means but it still looks very good. One big issue I have though is the complete lack of side mirrors. That's rather unfortunate. They did a great job with the Coulson minifig for sure. So I already got my dream set with the Ghost Rider team-up, would it be selfish of me to want another Ghost Rider set so soon? Before Agents of SHIELD, I had no interest in Robbie Reyes whatsoever but thanks to that show and what they've done with the character, I'd love to see a set featuring Reyes and his Charger! Given that some of the new sets coming out feature ANAD versions of characters, I think he's got a good shot.

They look great! It bugs me in the movies that Thor only wore his helmet in one scene so I'm very glad he's at least wearing it some here. This hopefully means the new fig will have a helmet as well. Gladiator Hulk will be an awesome bigfig as well, and he better have a helmet too!

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Toa Palpo replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah that's the exact same hairpiece, I don't see how anyone could see it differently. That line is not tracing the same thing, on GL it's tracing how it extends outward, just like it does on Gordan's, not how it fits against the minifig head like it's traced on the Gordan image. It's the exact same piece, just brown and mirrored. The comparison is not accounting for the tilt of GL's head. Back on topic, that Batwing 3 in one sounds intriguing. I'm also glad we are getting a proper Two-face and Scarecrow. I'm not familiar with Mutant Leader so that's fine I guess but bigfig Bane will be a must have!. Hopefully that set won't be too expensive. Man, with a limited LEGO budget, TLG is making it reeaally hard for me to pick and choose. I sill have sets on my list from the past 2 years to catch up on! It's a good dilemma to have though, they've really done a great job on these LBM sets so far. -

Man, after watching the brick show reviews, I really like these sets. The Scuttler is really great, the Arctic Roller looks fantastic, I'm a sucker for motorcycles and the Catwoman bike is superb! It's actually fairly close to what I was expecting the Ghost Rider set would have, but I'm thrilled with how both turned out. I really like the new 1x1 half circle pieces being used to make a V twin engine. I really like the Clayface set and I like what they did with him. $35 is also a little better than what people were thinking and it seems like a decent value, especially if someone needs a lot of nougat pieces. The Asylem is way better than I thought, wow it's great! The Tail-gator takes the cake though, I'm usually not a fan of pickup trucks or asymmetrical hobbled-together looking things but it has so much personality and the figures are good. The Bat-ski actually isn't too bad for a throw-away jet-ski common in LEGO sets. The real prize though is that Croc bigfig, my word. That is single-handily my favorite thing from this entire series! Croc's my favorite Bat villain and I was pretty disappointed in the last incarnation. They really made up for that this time though. He looks incredible. It's unfortunate how expensive the set is but I can understand why. Just like the phenomenal Rancor bigfig(my favorite bigfig(?) to date!), it contains very large specialized pieces that are unlikely to be used again making it a pretty expensive endeavor on TLG's part I imagine. -

I knew it! Croc's head moves up and down, awesome! The price however, is not awesome. I was expecting $50-$60, not $70, ouch! It looks like it's either the Tail-gator or the Scuttler decisions, decisions... -
Yeah like I said before, I really like the new helmet mold! The new Iron Man looks great and the helmet is a breath of fresh air for the figure. The old one was good, but horribly over-used. I'm sure we'll see it again though.

Wait, The Phantom II is going to be 40 USD? Pass. I'm not that familiar with Thrawn and I honestly liked Kanan better before he was blind, though the new headpiece is neat and the set is well designed. That's really unfortunate but now I can focus on getting other sets from this past year that I'm more interested in and missed out on. I need the Blue Angel in my life! I waited too long, now it's going out of production. I'll mirror the sentiment about the rehashes for the OT sets. Yes, the movies have been pretty much mined but the sets we are getting here are hardly different from versions we've previously gotten or feel like LEGO just threw a dart at a board full of OT vehicle images because they are so random. All of the minifigs in those sets are either the same or very similar to past incarnations as well. There are a number of old vehicles and locations that are in desperate need of an update, like perhaps a TIE Bomber or Bespin set, and sets we've never gotten at standard system scale, or at all like the TIE Interceptor and the Yavin IV base(which is kind of surprising given that a playset for the Yavin IV base was the very first prototype Star Wars LEGO set). It's frustrating and doesn't make much sense no matter how you look at it.
