Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation
Toa Palpo replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
So he won't be purple. *sigh* Dangit James Gunn, you disapoint me again. I swear, if he doesn't appear as a Living Planet at any point in the film I'm going to be mad. Anywaaaaay for being such an important part of the plot, it's pretty ridiculous he isn't getting a minifig or a brick-built Living Planet 'form'. Perhaps he'll get a polybag or a dreaded SDCC figure, but I won't give my hopes up. -
Didn't mean to cause confusion, but I mean it's extremely close to a TIE Phantom just as Jek-14's Starfighter was heavily inspired by the E-Wing Starfighter, which is pretty great imho. It's always really coo to get obscure Star Wars ships in LEGO, those tend to be my favorite sets.

This wave is fantastic! The villains are truly stealing the show this summer. The colossus is an instabuy though it's more expensive than I anticipated. The castle is fantastic. Macy's bot drop dragon is the only real disappointment. Axl's vehicle is pretty bad but i expected that based on the leaks. The heligoyle is another instabuy and Aaron's rock climber is cool but Lord Krackenskull and his stead are the real draw to the set. What an incredible minifig! The beast he's riding is also really cool. I mightvhave to get this set too but I'll wait until I watch some reviews first. -
An awesome wave this summer. My favorite is the Republic Fighter Tank. I missed out on the last one and I've been kicking myself ever since. I am pleasantly surpised to see that the Tracker 1 is actually a TIE Phantom! The Arrowhead is actually really great too, too bad the minifig selection isn't so great. The bounty hunter pack is still great and I love the riot shield piece in the fo battlepack. The Rathtar set is pretty sweet, as is the Quadjumper even though the minifig selection for it is pretty lackluster.

The atm heist is an easy pass but the Vulture attack set is a must have. I garuntee that the hidden figure is Shocker which would make an awesome set rven better. The Vulture figure looks fine, was hoping for a furry collar and talons and wings arw waaay too big but I like their design.

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

Wow the vehicles look great but that dragon of Loyd's really takes the cake! If the set looks half that good I'll be very happy. Hopefully it won't be super expensive. I'm rather surprised by the villain henchmen and Garmadon's shark mech. I was expecting the skeleton army or serpentine. Not sure how I feel about the aquatic villains. They're cool but they're not a great fit for Garmado imho. -

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Toa Palpo replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Really for me, the key missing characters that I'd love to see in minifig form are Mad Hatter, Hugo Strange, Black Mask, Hush and most of all, the Batman Begins suit. I have't seen the movie so I don't even know if Mad Hatter, Hush or Black Mask appear but they are certainly missing Key players. For a sequel or just in general I would absolutely LOVE to get Azrael, I mean Calendar Man's cape would be perfect for him and the hood/mask pieces used for the 2 main villains in this year's Ninjago wave I think would be perfect for his mask. Throw in the three-spike shoulder armor from the Shredder mnifig and you have yourself a pretty sweet Azrael. Woops, I'm getting a little off-topic. I got the Mr. Freeze set recently and I love it. I really love the new mech suit system LEGO has come up with for him and the Nexo Knight Battle Suits and I hope it continues to be used and improved in other themes in the future. I really want the Croc bigfig but the Tailgater is way over-priced and I don't find the set as a whole appealing. Looks like I'll just BL the fig despite how expensive it is. -
Woah, evidently I missed some serious stuff. Anyway... Those would be excellent choices for the robbers and I love that image of Spidey and Vulture! I doubt the one we get will be quite that detailed. Those claw feet would be fantastic pieces especially. I'm expecting we'll get a new helmet mold, possibly in conjunction with the LBM Penguin's collar piece? I'd say Kraven's furry collar would be a possibility too but I think it might be more difficult to make a helmet around.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Toa Palpo replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
The newly revealed sets look really great but the minifig selection is really lacking. The Bane set is probably the best overall but I must say I really like the Batwing and Batbike and Two-Face's Frontloader looks really great and it's really nice to get something a little different than usual. He always seems to get a bank truck or something. The Scarecopter is pretty lacking but at least it's a cheap set with a really nice Scarecrow minifig. That Harley Quinn in the Batwing is the best by far, it's so reminiscent of the character from the Arhkam series and I'd love to have it! The skirt piece really makes the figure and I'm sure it'l go for a premium on BL. -
Wow these sets look great! I like the quadjumper and I hope we see this vehicle model in future movies to a greater extent, it's a cool design. The Rathtar set is really great though I'm disappointed that it seems the Rathtars are built into the structure but I may be wrong. I LOVE the constraction speederbike and I'm glad we're also getting a classic Stormtrooper in constraction form as well. The Bounty Hunter pack looks pretty good too and that speeder bike is pretty unique, I wasn't expecting that. I already have Bossk from the last Slave 1 that was released but he desperately needs an update so I hope his figure isn't final.

LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion

Wow, the Castle looks awesome. I can't tell much from Macy's Dragon but I love the giant stone colossus but I'm not sure I care for how square the body and legs look, I would expect something with more shape to it. Aaron's Rock Climber is not what I expected for such a name but it looks good enough. I'm more interested in that stone monster steed that comes with it! I'm not impressed by Axl's Rumble Maker, but maybe better pictures will change my mind. Can anyone tell what the Battle Suit power up from it might be? I love the Heligoyle, It's not what I expected and I'm glad. I love that it's a giant stone gargoyle with what appears to be a dual-rotor spinning function with the tail being the handle. I honestly havn't been impressed with the vehicles this season, save for the awesome Battle Suits, Lance's robohorse and Clays jet but the Stone army figures and monsters have been a huge improvement of the standard villain fare for themes like this. I love the huge variety from small single piece monsters to massive hulking beasts, exactly what I would expect from a monster hoard. It allows for plenty of great play potential between the Battle Suits and monsters of equal size. The Colossus would be a great match-up against multiple Battle Suits! It really addresses issues of the past where the hero faction is always better equipped than the villain faction to really pose much of a threat. This season, the Villains have the advantage I feel. -
I think it looks good for Invincible Iron Man but it won't work for MCU Iron Man which is unfortunate because I am so dang sick of that helmet, it's looong outstayed its welcome and it isn't versatile enough to look good and different enough to encompass the changes since mk 3. A couple extra lines of print and a new color just doesn't cut it. If we could at least get a different mold for the face plate, that'd be enough, the rest of the helmet is acceptable.

A bit large but not anymore so than the official set. Nice revamp! If I had one criticism, it'd be the lack of flames on the front wheel.
-
Nice job! I actually want a real set of one so we can have Johnny Blaze and Robbie Reyes in minifig form with their vehicles. It would make a nice display! The Ghost Rider Team-Up set is already my favorite LEGO set of all time but that would be icing on the cake.

LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion
Toa Palpo replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Wow I knew the new part was ripe with potential but that blew my mind! If LEGO realizes the potential of this piece, it will far outlast Nexo Knights and become a staple of future builds for years to come. Whoever designed it is a genius. -
I really like the new figs in these sets and it's interesting that you can fit 4 figures in the small Milano despite its size and how cramped they are. I'm so glad I got the previous model because it's sooooo much better than this. I do like the use of the Nexo Knights arch on the front of it paired with the printed bubble canopy though, that looks pretty good. I really expected more interior space in that Ravager "submarine-spaceship" though. The Abillisk looks fine to me but it would have been much better to get a larger creature without the geared function even if it added another $10 to the pricetag. I'm really disappointed by the complete lack of an Ego minifig or Living Planet brick build considering he's a huge part of the film. I suppose anything he'd be in might be spoiler-y so they played it safe by only making sets of scenes that were shown in the trailers. Btw is anyone else planning to turn the little Ravager ship into Rocket's Warbird? It's essentially the same craft so that's pretty cool.

Wow thanks for the headsup about the robo horse! It's currently being shipped to me along with axl's battle suit. Is that centaur feature shown in any promotional material or mentioned somewhere I've missed? -
Wow these look great! I was hoping for Ego the Living planet but these are amazing. The new Milan looks really great but it's definitely smaller than the old one and most certaily doesn't have the great interior the old one has so I'm glad I have it. Fortunately, having all 3 of the first movie's sets, I can completely skip the new milano with all old yet updated figs.

Gunn has stated he'll have multiple forms(ntm he's taken a number of forms in the comics including a humanoid avatar) and the whole reason he included him in the movie is because he wanted the absurdity of a living planet. That price range is way too low for a proper Milano, it would certainly be smaller and less detailed than the last one and that doesn't mesh with the way lego has progressed in recent years in terms of general set design. They could very easily, have you ever seen a lego shere or make one yourself?(legitimate question, not trying to sound antagonistic) It can be done very easily at many sizes. I don't expect a massive ball of lego, more like something with a 10-15 stud diameter and some shaping and printed pieces for the face. The Ayesha fig looks good but it's not exactly what I was expecting from her costume design. Why is she wearing a full body blue jumpsuit? That just doesn't seem right.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Toa Palpo replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Dang, at the LEGO store I frequent they are super friendly and actually provide recommendations on what to feel for lol. -
I'm hoping that last GoTG2 set is a certain giant floating face, hence why it may not be listed for spoilerish reasons. I think a brick built model of him would certainly fit in that price range, along with several figs and maybe an additional small build or 2. Since I already have the Milano, I'd much, much rather have that than a new Milano.

Vader's transformation actually looks pretty amazing and more substantial than I would have guessed. I'm really looking forward to the new Republic Fighter Tank! It looks really good and has some great figs, I too am hoping the clone is Bly.
-
*Sigh* No, I meant he's green in the comics.... My point is that they made him grey for the movies in stark contrast to the source material(something Gunn cerntainly isn't affraid to throw out the window despite how good the movie is).
