LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!

I was expecting more from the Conveyex but what we get looks good. For the price we really should've gotten at least one more section of the train. The AT Hauler looks great and the Swoop bike set looks great. I also like that all 3 of these sets can be brought together to pretty much get the whole sequence of events for that part of the film. -

Who knows, maybe we'll get a set later that features the scene in Dryden's office toward the end of the film. It'd be especially great if it featured both Dryden Vos and an updated Maul! Chances are slim though considering we haven't gotten anything for Rogue One since the initial wave and I doubt we will for a long time if ever and I suspect Solo and other anthology films will follow the same trend. -

The swoop bike set looks really good and for $30 USD seems like a reasonable price for a Star Wars set. I'm not a fan of the Brickheads but I have to have that Boba Fett. It looks better than the comic con exclusive one and I especially like the use of those new 2x2 triangle tiles for the helmet. Aside from this, the only way LEGO is going to get me to buy a Brickhead is if they decide to do a Ghost Rider one and I don't see that happening anytime soon. -

I would've thought the Conveyex set would be bigger and more expensive than the Hauler, that thing does NOT look like it's $90, sheesh. I do really like it though. Hmmm idk, the Mimban Stormtrooper helmet is barely different from the standard one yet we got a new mold for it. It wouldn't surprise me though if they reused it but it would be really unfortunate. -
It's definitely more gunmetal, not the pearl silver we're getting. It's shiny so reflects light really well. When they open up the case and in a lot of scenes it looks more black and certainly in most promo images it appears black.

My only real disappointment with the pack is that White Wolf's arm is grey instead of black like it should be but these figures look amazing. Hell, 3 of the 4 get arm printing, 2 get dual molded legs and Wong gets side leg printing! It also would've been nice if Tony had the glasses on one face print but not a huge deal. I want to see more figure packs like this that give us amazing looking figures. With sets, figure quality has to compete with set quality more often than not resulting in compromise and missing detail. Since the figures are the set, they get $100 of the budget. It's so weird that more often than not Marvel figures tend to get shafted in quality of printing and new molds compared to other themes but stuff like this really helps make up for it a little bit.

I'm really digging the Imperial Hauler. I love that the front looks like an AT-DP and brown really helps to break up the grey color scheme. Plus I'm happy it comes with Rio Durant. I always like seeing more alien creatures and characters in Star Wars. I'm intrigued to see how they did the 4 arms and why they haven't done something similar in the past as that's pretty perfect without stretching out the figure's torso or forcing the arms to protrude from unnatural places like the Outriders from the Infinity War sets. I think you might be right on the money, that seems like a great set up and I really, really wish that they had used this for the Outriders. -
Wow that figure pack is a huge surprise but a pleasant one for sure. I look forward to getting my hands on it somehow. Do we know how it is going to be released and where given TRU's extinction? Edit: Nevermind, I read a couple pages back. Hopefully this won't be a nightmare to find in the US.

So my thoughts thus far: -hoth medical facillity is a surprise and frankly feels random and unnecessary, would rather have seen them come up with something else -Sandcrawler looks pretty good even though the proportions are off and I still dislike that window set up, I can think of a couple ways it could be done -Sentinel Shuttle is a complete surprise but it looks pretty good, too bad it's overpriced -X-Wing looks really good but I can't help but be fatigued buy X-Wings and TIE Fighters no matter how good they look -Anakin's Delta-7B, It's nice to have an updated version as I never got the original yellow Delta-7B but the proportions are still off like all the other Delta-7 and Delta-7B sets and I really wish they could come up with a better solution. Still a strong highlight for me as a massive Clone Wars fa, I might pick it up as I think it will look great next to the Blue Angel from a few years back. -Snoke's Throne Room I think looks really good and about what I'd expect given how similar sets have been laid out. I do wish we got some red wall behind the throne but overall I really like it. What I don't like is the price, how can they justify that!? Unbelievably over-priced which is a real shame. I'll get it only on a huge discount/2x points or save up a lot of VIP points. -V-19 I'm still hoping exists but it looks like we may have to wait until the fall before we find out -
I dig this set. I can live with how they did Wasp. The Quantum Realm ship is a bizarre interesting design and it's nice to get the 3 main characters in a cheap set. I'm pleasantly surprised to hear about a second set, fingers crossed it contains Goliath.

I'm glad we have confirmation on the Antman and the Wasp set though I was hoping for at least one more figure for Lawrence Fishburne's Black Goliath character. More accurately I was hoping for a large buildable character like we got for Antman in Civil War. I'm still kicking myself for missing out on the set for the first film and the Civil War Airport set so this one is a must have for me even if the figures could've been handled a lot better. Frankly I'm more upset about the lack of an accurate Antman helmet than I am about Wasp using the all-purpose Iron Man helmet mold as this is far from the first time it's happened. Honestly I had a feeling they might do that before pictures leaked so it didn't come as much surprise.

And this is why I took those rumors with a massive grain of salt. Too many people around here have an irrational hatred of constraction and especially after we started getting SW CCBS. CCBS sets are in addition to the system sets and DO NOT effect the quality or number of system scale Star Wars sets. I'm baffled why anyone would think that's the case. I hope they are still coming, I would absolutely buy the AT-RT and Super Battledroid in a heartbeat but we'll have to see. Sets being region-exclusive is not unheard of so it's certainly possible they are only coming to places where constraction sets have sold well. As long as they come here in the States I'll be happy. If they don't come at all then I'll still be disappointed but there are plenty of other sets this year for me to look forward to. -
I think they stated in the designer video they wanted to also include Clu but couldn't for budgetary constraints. Hopefully if this set does well enough it could encourage LEGO to produce a couple more sets based on the license. a Recognizer set, a Light Runner set, and a Light Tank set would be amazing and Clu could be included in one of those. Sets based on the original movie could also be a possibility though not as interesting to me personally.

I quite like that BB8, it'll look great next to the R2 from last year. My fiance also wants one to go with her UCS BB8, then she'll have BB8 at 3 different scales! -
I am definitely one of those fans who had no problem forking over the money for the set. In addition to LEGO I also collect Transformers(official and 3rd party), video game memorabilia and I'm starting to get into Gunpla(Gundam model kit building) so compared to those other hobbies the markup price for this is much easier to swallow. Having $10 in VIP also helped. Mine should be here in the mail tomorrow but I do hope they made enough copies of this set to ensure everyone who wants it can get it. I'm still kicking myself for not getting the Exo-suit...

It's now available on S@H! I got mine ordered, I can't wait to build it when it arrives!

The set is undeniably great looking but releasing UCS sets on things we've already gotten in the past really makes it difficult for me to muster much interest when I can think of at least 10 other craft that have yet to get the UCS treatment and would be great additions. It also doesn't help that I'm generally not a big fan of the OT Rebel vehicle and pilot designs(outside of the A-Wing). Ah well, easy pass fort me. A UCS A-Wing would have been tempting for sure. I look forward to seeing how this new design compares with the old UCS. -
The Incredibles 2 2018: Rumors and Discussion

Yup, seeing the box art for the game makes me really, really want that beefy figure of Mr. Incredible and that Frozone! Man oh man why is LEGO only giving us 3 pathetic juniors sets for the theme!?! -
I absolutely love this set even if the price is a bit high. Fully printed figures, 2 very accurate bikes and a nice display base make it totally worth it though. Tron is a criminally underrated franchise but I hope this set does very well. The potential for other sets based on the Tron license is huge. I personally can't get enough of the Tron aesthetic!

BrickBros UK, the Youtubers who designed the set have already posted their review! The set looks amazing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lq9ZYxJBMGA

I'm very happy with how this set turned out, way better than the initial submission. It's $10 higher than I expected but I wasn't expecting the display base based on the box images so I'm not mad about it. The display base looks really nice as does everything about this set. I very much look forward to getting my hands on it!

Yeah that'd really be a slap in the face. I'm still not sure if I believe it but if it's true about the constraction sets I'll be pretty unhappy. It was the last thing we had that was remotely Bionicle-like. I'm worried they're going to stop making large buildable action figures all-together. -
The Incredibles 2 2018: Rumors and Discussion
Toa Palpo replied to Falconfan1414's topic in LEGO Licensed
That's exactly what I was thinking. Man, with the game coming out I'm even more frustrated by the lack of proper system sets for the theme. That Mr. Incredible midi-fig(?) looks perfect and I'd like to have it irl along with Frozone and several other characters. It really sucks that all we get are a couple of lousy juniors sets. I really can't justify picking them up just for the figs, especially when there are plenty of great sets coming out this year. Are there by chance any rumors of proper sets later in the year? If not, I suppose I can only hope we get some next year. -
The set looks great! Honestly I think this design looks much better than the original submission, it was way too chunky. I'm glad we are getting 3 figures and 2 bikes, hopefully it will be reasonably priced. Hell if it sells well enough, we might even get a few more sets from this theme like we did with Ghost Busters. It would make sense for LEGO to utilize the license. The data disks aren't quite what I had imagined. Everyone kept saying they should use Nakia's Chakrams but honestly those are too thin and too big. I personally was hoping they would use the lightsaber hilts from the Inquisitors but a printed 2x2 round tile with a hole in it is probably the best solution. I'm curious as to why Tron's is so thick though. I guess he has 2 disks while Flynn only has 1? That would make sense as Tron used 2 in the movie. I'm confused as to why Quorra has one of Lloyd's Scimitars but oh well. Can anyone tell what she is holding in her left hand? I can;t really make it out.

An awesome little set with a great build and an awesome Kestral, a day one buy for sure. Grindlewald could have been better but "eh".
