  1. No offense but I call BS on the cancellation rumors of the AT-RT and Super Battledroid figures until we get some sort of proof considering we've already seen the prelims. Them being replaced by a single, additional system set we are just now hearing about also sounds HIGHLY suspect. Sir Von has been reliable and I am in now way trying to disrespect him or his reputation but I think people are a little too quick bury the constraction theme when the body is still warm(it feels like we get these kind of rumors every year). I have no doubt we will continue to get conflicting "confirmations" for the next several months or until we get hi-res images of the summer wave.
  2. That info about the buildable figures better be complete nonsense because I absolutely love them and the AT-RT sounded freakin' amazing. If it's canceled then it's an end to an era. Constraction was my bread and butter and I wish we could get back to the good ol' days of Bionicle. I miss it so much.
  3. Definitely sold on the Guardian's ship set. The official renders didn't do it justice and it looks fantastic with the pod attached. Plenty of room inside with a sleek design, I dig it.
  4. The Sanctum is still a must have and watching the review of it makes me feel much better about the interior. There isn't much space but they really packed as much stuff and detail in there as they could.
  5. The interior of the Sanctum is incredibly disappointing. It's so small that you can barely fit any figs in, not to mention the lack of detail. It really baffles me why they chose to cram the schwarma joint and Peter's room in there when they barely had any room for the Sanctum! It's rather frustrating and becoming far too common in LEGO playsets these days. Great looking exterior but lousy and tiny interiors, just facades. They should've only done one half of the building and use the rest of the parts to lengthen the interior space. For a $100 I expect better. Ah well, it's not like I'm going to be displaying it with the interior exposed.
  6. I thought surely the rumors of a ucs Hulkbuster were false but I must say it looks pretty good if not a bit lacking in accuracy It's unfortunate it isn't based on the updated version but what are ya gonna do? Depending on the price I might pick one up but I have a lot on my plate already.
  7. I'm loving the sound of more Clone Wares sets. By far my favorite era of Star Wars and it makes me happy that the show is still getting some love. The V-19 and minifig lineup sounds too good to be true but a must-have if true! The TLJ throne room set was inevitable and sounds like it'll be great. The Resistance dropship also makes good sense to me even if it isn't an interesting vehicle. An easy pass with so many other great sets coming out this year.
  8. I love those figs and I can't wait to see the finished product. I have no issue with it being a small set, that's likely to sell better and might even convince LEGO and Disney to make more. Besides, this year's sets are already going to be brutal to my wallet, an affordable Tron set is great. I loved Legacy and the Uprising tv show. The theme in general is criminally underrated. I absolutely love the design aesthetic and I was really disappointed when they canceled the sequel to Legacy. Any Tron fan should be grateful we are even getting this as this may be the only Tron-related thing we may get for a very long time. Too bad Dimensions was canned, Tron would've made for a great addition.
  9. That is certainly tantalizing... I won't even set myself up for disappointment and hope this is a movie easter egg but we are long overdue for getting DD as in a set. The BP earpiece placed backwards on a minifig head works perfectly for his horns and we've had 3 length bars fr some time now, hopefully we'll get him next time we get some comic-based sets. Fingers-crossed for Blade as well, and with a great new crescent piece coming in the next wave of Ninjago sets, I'd love to see Moon Knight as well!
  10. It's clearly a completely new design of ship, I'm not sure why people think it's the same ship from the other films with a new color scheme. I honestly really preferred the old design but it's inevitable we would get a "Milano Mark II". The yellow/orange and grey is a really boring color scheme on its own and the previous model had a really nice shape to the hull that I really liked, plus I liked all the little wings on the ends, now there's just 2 on each and the whole craft is sleeker. I'll try to withhold some judgement until we see the in-universe design. Are the prices posted above accurate? They seem too good to be true... I still really wish they had made the Sanctum set just the Sanctum without cramming Peter's room and a pizzeria into it. It doesn't appear to have much interior space as it is, I'm not going to be too thrilled if they wasted a bunch of space on the other stuff that didn't need to be there. I am relieved to see Doctor Strange does in fact have his proper cape with the collar. I'm also happy to see we are getting 2 full sets of the new blast elements.
  11. Overall the sets are okay, basically just a means for getting the new dino molds. The Stygimoloch is really cool and I actually really like the Carnotaurus though I may be biased as I've always really liked Carnotaurus. Honestly I'll probably just bricklink the Carnotaur.
  12. Wow just saw the sets and they look fantastic! Excellent builds all around, they really focused more on producting great sets than on highly detailed figs and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm going to have trouble deciding on what to pass on as I can't afford it all (this is going to be a very expensive year for all things awesome and nerdy, plus I'm getting married). The Sanctum is a must-have, Thor forging his new weapon is a shoe in, especially if that ends up being Stormbreaker, looks good regardless. The ship is a certainly a strange but cool design and the teen Groot figure is an instabuy. The new Hulkbuster blows the last one out of the water and I thought that one was pretty good. That one is hight on my list. The Outrider attack I will likely get as it'll be the cheapest set and has a decent selection of figures and another funky ship design. The new Milano is well built but I'm not a big fan of the color choice or shaping which I have no doubt is fairly accurate to the in universe design. Still, that Iron Man looks awesome with the jetpack and it's the only set with the Infinity Gauntlet so far. Thanos is still a big disapointed and the other figs aren't very exciting. Ultimately might pass on this one and wait to see what we get for Thanos in Avengers 4. The Wakandan wall looks very well done with a decent selection of figures, I'm not sure if it'll make the cut though. tldr: IW sets look incredible! Sanctum is a day-1 buy.
  13. So about that Cull Obsidian/Black Dwarf bigfig... I have mixed feelings. The sculpting and printing look good overall but the face print and skin color choice look awful imo.
  14. After seeing the "out of box" images... wow this whole Solo line is awesome. The TIE was an easy pass based on the box art but now I have to have it, especially for those amazing figs! I love that Mimban Stormtrooper. The Falcon also looks much better to me and I quite like how the Range Trooper uses Bionicle gen 2 pieces, it simultaneously makes me happy and sad. The bp is still a must have, love those Patrol Troopers and the speeder is actually a very nice looking and appropriately detailed/scaled thing for once! Man, this was already going to be an expensive year, I really wasn't expecting much from the Solo sets but they are even better than the RO sets.
  15. I know, I was referring to the version of he figure in his normal outfit that I've seen in a couple of places.
  16. Man I love the Range Trooper buildable figure! The other Stormtroopers we've seen in minifig form must not be Range troopers gicen how different they are to the look of the buildable figure. Now that we have better pictures of the figures I like how the Corellian hounds almost have Rancor heads and the alien in the mf set is a pleasant surprise as it appears to be a Pyke. It's nice to finally get some of the species from the pt/ot eras again. I would not have expected the Han Solo movie to make such a connection to old lore, it makes me happy that they're actually doing their research. That young Lando figure looks excellent as well. I'm very happy to see so much leg printing. Seeing all of the Marvel figures without leg printing has had me nervous. Not to mention frustrated.
  17. As a huge Clone Wars fan I'm pretty disappointed we're getting phase 1 clones in the battlepack but I'm still probably going to pick it up.I'm really digging the Solo sets a lot more than I thought I would. It looks like a large part of the movie will take place on Corellia/Kessel. I'm still holding out hope though that the movie will include the liberation of Kashyyyk. We shall see in time. Woody Harilson's character can be found in minifig form but does anyone know what set he's supposed to be from? None of the ones we've seen so far seems to include him. It's a good looking figure, it'd be kinda nice to know.
  18. Ah so it is. More blocky, less sleek. I don't much care for that even if it is accurate. The grey speeder appears to have some sort of cage in the side of it, perhaps one of the creatures can be stored in it. Other than that I wouldn't really count on them doing anything more than shooting though I hope I'm wrong. I have a bad feeling these things will end up being $10 more than they should be as that seems to be the trend in the past few years. Still, I think the 2 sets will look great together and I'm thrilled we will be getting 3 of that new creature mold which seems uncharacteristically generous of LEGO. It seems we generally only get 1 or 2 of something like that in an entire theme. I'm a big fan of their design, I'm quite fond of creature designs with a larger upper body and larger front limbs like the Reek from epII and the Rancor or the Brachiosaurus and American Bison irl. It is unfortunate LEGO keeps giving us only 2 decent figs in most of these battlepacks with no "real" weapons either. The studshooters really need to go. At least there's always bricklink...
  19. Wow I absolutely love the new Stormtrooper designs in that Solo battlepack. The vehicle is actually pretty cool too. That and the "brick" speeder are must haves for me.I really, really like the speeder with Han, the... chick(no idea who that is) and the new creature mold. That's a great, inexpensive way to get Han and that creature! That other speeder is well designed even if it is the definition of blocky and the figs look great and I love the little creature molds and the fact we are FINALLY getting a new alien head mold for that driver. One of things I like most in Star Wars is the variety of sentient species and we frankly haven't gotten nearly enough of them in LEGO form let alone being prominently featured characters since the prequels. I love the coloration of the new(well technically old) Falcon, though admittedly I'm not keen on the front section where the mandibles are filled in. I honestly wasn't expecting that. The new TIE looks nice but it's basically a color swap of the FO Special Forces TIE minus a few guns, frankly I'll just stick with the far more visually appealing Sequel Trilogy one. The 3 smaller sets will be must haves for me for sure. Do we have any info on potential prices on those speeders? Fingers crossed the blue one is $20 and the grey one $30.
  20. I'm really excited by the prospect of a constraction 501st trooper and AT-RT! That'd be an absolute must-have for me, I love the gen2 clones and the AT-RT walkers. Anakin's Jedi Starfighter from the Clone Wars is a surprise but it looks decent. I never got the first one so I might pick this up though I'm a far bigger fan of the ETA-2 Jedi Interceptor. If we are also getting a constraction Super Battledroid and that'll be pretty nice too. A decent amount of Clone Wars era stuff coming out next year, it makes me very happy.
  21. At first I was really disappointed at how large the Infinity Gauntlet was and the fact it was missing a couple gem slots but seeing better images of it I'm happy it has room for all 6 and it actually looks decent on Thanos. It's still oversized but not nearly as bad as I originally thought. I also really like the HUD on Stark's face print, still hate the over-used helmet mold but I love what's underneath. I'm also concerned that Thor is missing his eye patch. Teen Groot looks great but as soon as I saw him and Thor I thought they were customs as something about them just doesn't look like legit LEGO, Thor's prints just don't look glossy and sharp enough and Groot's head looks a little more rough than LEGO usually puts out.
  22. Jangbricks just reviewed both Ach-To and Battle of Crait. Both look like great sets but I agree with his points. They're both overpriced, especially the Crait set. The Skip Speeder is frankly way too big even though it looks great, put it next to the AT-M6 and it'll look pretty bad, the other builds in the set will work in scale though imo. I'll probably give in and get Ach-To right away but I will absolutely wait for a big sale before I consider the Crait set. I really hope the FO AT-ST reappears in ep9 so we can get a proper build of one, what a waste... Honestly of the entire line of TLJ sets that one is the biggest disappointment. Even if it doesn't appear in the sequel I think there's at least a chance we might get one in the future, heck I guarantee we'll get a set in a later wave featuring Canto Bight and likely get a build of those horse creatures using the leg pieces from the Luggabeast. Edit: I just remembered the AT-ST is not the only big disappointment of TLJ wave, I completely forgot about the Scout Walker, don't even get me started on that mess, especially after seeing the movie.
  23. The Brick Show has a review up of the Royal Talon Fighter, I must say I absolutely love it. I'm also glad to see it has decent room to put figures inside, certainly more than I expected. Overall great design and piece use with minimal use of stickers imo. All 4 figures look great and are exclusive to the set. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADt3ic2B-q8
  24. Having seen clearer images of the AT-ST I am really disappointed that the head of the thing isn't included, that severely decreases its appeal. They really should have increased the price by $10 and included the head and maybe a slightly better elevator platform. I can honestly only see people buying this for the figs, heck I don't even know if I even want to bother getting it and modding a head onto it. On a side note I saw the movie last night and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
  25. I'm going to be furious if StarWars8Spoiler ruined the movie for me... I get potential spoilers in this topic but that was just pure evil trolling. I saw that post last night and I was fuming. Anyway, has anyone seen clear pictures of the FO AT-ST set yet? I keep looking at the blurry one and I assume that the rest of the head is behind the yellow sticker but I'm a little concerned we won't get the full build, just a half-built one. After playing a bunch of Battlefront II last night, I absolutely love the design of the FO AT-ST. Hopefully the full build will look just as good.
