  1. I echo the sentiment that War Machine desperately needed torso armor given how bulky he is. Frankly he's always needed torso armor, printing doesn't cut it.
  2. I quite like it and especially if it's a gwp I'm not really going to judge it too harshly. The fig choice could've been better but it's a neat idea and at least it has arm printing. The build itself is quite good and my wife is going to want to put it with her Architecture sets display.
  3. I absolutely agree that'd be perfect for a battle pack.
  4. Got my Bricktober pack ordered! I decided to grab the Captain Marvel set in time for the movie since I haven't picked it up yet and also got the Paris Architecture skyline my wife wanted for her birthday, just in time for the 16th!
  5. I completely agree, it's nice to be able to open large ships up and place figures into a diorama of a particular scene. I certainly think the famous hallway scene is a shoe-in given it's simplicity, it requires few pieces and it would be easy to include such an empty space inside of a large ship, not to mention it can serve the dual function of being the famous scene at the beginning of ANH and the famous scene at the end of RO . Let's just hope they provide us with some dead mea-- I mean generic Rebel soldiers. Regardless I'm glad Bail Organa will be included finally and he is a very well done minifig.
  6. Wow the new Buckbeak and stag patronus look amazing! I had hoped buckbeak would be able to stand up on his hind legs like the modern horse mold but it's by no means a deal breaker. He's going to look great with the eagle/Pegasus wings attached! Do we know what set he's coming in? I really hope it's Hagrid's Hut as that set will be a must have for me no matter what. The new stag mold looks amazing, especially with the silver flakes in it. I do wish it could at least move its head up and down but it's not a huge deal. It's amazing we're getting such a great new mold in such a cheap little set.
  7. I actually like Cap's bike a lot more than I thought I would, it's actually a nice build. War Machine Buster still looks to be my favorite for the wave, I love how it looks and I love Hulkbuster suits in general. The hall of armor set is great though Igor looks awful. I'll probably end up getting it. The Quinjet is still a fantastic build and it looks like it'll have plenty of space inside but the figs are terrible and will most likely be a pass for me. The compound... oh the compound... It looks okay but like many have said it looks like a City set mixed into Marvel set. The build is okay but I would've rather they used the parts from the garage to fill out the building, as that whole section is kind of a waste. Speaking of which, that helicopter. Why on earth is it in this set wasting parts budget!? I'll be shocked if this is the scene we see in the movie, in fact pretty much all of these sets are likely to be made up except hopefully the War Machine Buster at least. The new Thanos and Iron Man look good as we've seen previously, Nebula is "meh" they evidently couldn't be bothered to give Captain Marvel any leg printing and seems to be the exact same figure from the Captain Marvel movie set. Seriously!? The little car is also a waste of parts. Hulk looks okay but it's going to really suck if he ends up having the suit we've seen from concept art in the movie because that'll be another glaring inaccuracy for this set. Overall, what an absolute disappointment of a wave. It's clear Marvel did not provide LEGO with adequate material to base sets on and they were forced to make due. I don't completely blame LEGO here but there are some obvious things that should've been included/excluded that have not. I just hope we get a set or two after the movie comes out that represents some of the more spoiler-y stuff but I won't hold my breath. Seriously, not a single thing from this wave is very exciting or new. Some minor updates are nice like Antman's helmet and Cap's cowl but nothing groundbreaking.
  8. Hmm. You're probably right but I'm not too keen on that solution as it means YET ANOTHER recolor/repaint of that same tired old helmet mold. I've truly grown to hate it.
  9. You have a good point! If that's the case then I'll be okay with the otherwise random helicopter inclusion.
  10. The description for the armor room sounds decent, I'm glad to hear we're getting Igor as a brick built suit, hopefully it won't be terribly oversized. The compound set sounds awful. Why the hell would they waste parts budget on a helicopter and an offroader!? What is this, a city set? Only 4 figs, one being yet another outrider, the hulk and thanos we've already seen... just wow I can't believe this is what we're getting. I honestly hope these descriptions are wrong but they're most likely not.
  11. Stealth Suit Spidey looks superb! I'm a little disappointed the bricktober pack isn't available yet but it does make more sense for it to come out in time for the release of Captain Marvel. I'd actually prefer it was being offered for the release of the Endgame sets as there aren't many Marvel sets I don't already have let alone ones left that I'm interested in picking up.
  12. Wow Mysterio looks amazing! Hopefully it'll end up being accurate to what we end up seeing in the movie.
  13. But they do quite regularly. LEGO Star Wars is also a line highly desired and collected for the figures, it's just the builds are equally desired in most cases due to the nature of the source material Have you ever looked at Star Wars figs on Bricklink? Star Wars figs have never had dual molded arms or legs, frequently do not have leg printing, extremely rarely have arm printing, specific ships and designs are repeated ad nauseam while many important characters and vehicles have yet to see the light of day, and then there's the despised angry clone.... Star Wars sets are also really, really expensive even compared with other Disney lines. The newly brought back Harry Potter line has impressive figures with printing and new molds galore-- yet another theme that is highly prized for the figures. Should the line persist for a few years however I am sure we are likely to see the same pattern of decline. We're getting way off topic though. The only set revealed so far to really get my attention is the War Machine Buster(there HAS to be a better name for it in the movie). I've always loved the Huilkbuster suits and I've always liked the War Machine designs better than 95% of Iron Man's so I'm really excited for it. Cap's bike would've looked so much better without the disk shooters, seriously in the modern age of sleek stud shooters and spring-loaded missiles, why on earth did they choose the clunkiest, worst firing option they could find and completely ruin an otherwise decent build!? At least Cap finally gets a cowl and I could always use new blast effects so... yay? The "super" Quinjet looks like a fantastic build but Quinjets in the Marvel line are about as exciting as Snowspeeders in the Star Wars line, there have been too many of them regardless of how much they improve, I am completely numb to them at this point. Hopefully the sets we haven't seen yet make up for the mediocrity but I won't hold my breath. At least maybe we'll get a really good spoiler set after the movie comes out. I'm not at all thrilled by the prospect of the Bricktober pack being made available the first week of March as a gift with purchase on Marvel sets while the End Game sets potentially come out at the end of March. Sure it could help LEGO clear shelf space for the new sets but I feel like that would undercut the release of the new sets. Plus it just feels like a jerk move, hopefully I'm wrong about that though.
  14. Slave I looks fantastic of course, the price is still insane but it's probably the best looking set in the Star Wars line up. I really like the packaging for the anniversary sets with a little homage to the original sets. I was really looking forward to Vonreg's TIE but I can't help but be a little disappointed. I expected the cockpit to be much more round like the FO Special Forces TIE and I had hoped they would try to give the wings some curve but it's still a really cool set I'll likely pick up. The Black Ace looks really good and I'm very glad it'll actually be $39.99 in the US and not $49.99 like people were saying. I still don't get why we're getting this ship out of all of the ships in the show, including the Fireball, you know, the main ship in the show! The AT-RT and Anakin's Podracer sets still look great and I plan on getting both of them, the Snowspeeder is just as boring and passable. The Imperial Dropship actually looks quite a bit better with the backend detached but I'm getting this regardless for the figs. I really don't understand why people are so upset with the shooter games. They're clearly aimed at a younger demographic and they're kinda funny. It's not like they're replacing sets in this wave, it's just a new subtheme like 4+/Juniors people just need to chill. Edit: Looking at Slave I again they messed up the build for the top section of the cockpit. That whole chunk is a stud higher than it should be, no wonder why it looked odd to me. Jeeze, do the people setting these up only get like 10 minutes to set these up?
  15. Hmm, I'd recommend watching a comparison video, MnRproductions actually has a decent video comparing all 3 versions. Judging by that I'd say definitely get it but wait for a discount or use some saved up VIP points to bring the price down. It's certainly a good size and looks great in a modern Clone Wars era display. By far the most accurate rendition of the walker in LEGO and the build is incredibly sturdy with a good amount of heft. Heck, I bet it could could survive being thrown at the wall a few times.
  16. Wow finally something substantial! This set looks awesome, I love the hulkbuster type armors so I'll definitely be getting War Machine's. The figures look good, especially Ant Man with an updated helmet finally. I still expect them to use that Firefly mold for Wasp but I did not anticipate them using it for Ant Man, it looks really good! The Outrider and Outrider variant don't excite me too much but at least one of them is a little different.
  17. It's a nice little display but there just isn't enough new or interesting for me to pick it up. I do hope they continue to make these sorts of location-based sets though. Heck, if they ever did one for something like the droid factory on Geonosis I'd probably get it.
  18. I just got the AT-AP yesterday, I'm very glad I finally decided to get one. This is certainly the best one yet and it looks so much better in person. There's something very satisfying about how all the panels lineup just right and the inclusion of the fairly new 1x2 curved tile with notch brings the whole front section together. I was never a huge fan of the AT-AP's design but now that I have a physical manifestation of it in hand I'm sold on it. It looks great with the new Droid Gunship and the rest of my Clone Wars display. I greatly look forward to adding the new AT-RT set to the battle of Kashyyyk side of the shelf!
  19. Yeah mk85 looks "meh". It could really use some arm printing. And I'm beyond sick of that same helmet. No amount of print variation is going to fix it. I wasn't expecting a new one this time but eventually it would be nice and maybe when that day comes I'll actually be interested in an Iron Man minifig again.
  20. I really like that this new Slave 1 has a handle on the back for swooshing and triggers to fire of the spring-loaded shooters. The price though, sheesh! $119.99!? I don't see anything about this that justifies the price or the 1000 piece count unless there's somehow a side build they forgot to include in the pictures(which is of couse highly unlikely) it makes me wonder how the back and interior look. Just looking at it, it looks like it should be $99.99 TOPS. Guess I better start saving up VIP points...
  21. Wow, these sets look fantastic! I told myself I didn't need another Slave 1 especially since I have the UCS... but dangit that looks so good, I have to have it! They did an incredible job of utilizing the UCS design style. My only disappointment with this set is that the Carbonite piece still hasn't been updated. I also love the AT-RT set, it definitely uses almost the exact same engineering as the Umbaraan set. I'm glad it includes some other builds. It's nice to get another Spider Droid and the weapon implacement looks good. Anakin's Podracer looks really good, that'll be another must have for me. The Imperial Dropship looks awful! But who am I kidding, I'm still going to get it for the figs. Snowspeeder is an easy pass, if I never see another Snowspeeder again I wouldn't miss them but hey, to each their own.
  22. Those are some fine looking armors! I'm still amazd we're getting a hall of armors set in this wave. I'm curious to see what others might be included.
  23. As much as I love Boba and his Slave 1(he's my favorite character and he pilots my favorite ship) I was reeaally hoping it was Jango's. That would certainly justify a purchase. I can't believe we've only gotten Jango's ship once. I thought for sure it'd be Jango's to coincide with the recent Jedi Starfighter and Hyperspace Booster Ring. I have the last Slave 1 set and the UCS Slave 1 so I'm not sure I can justify getting this even if it has Zuckuss, depends on how different the build is and how good the figs look. Is this list super trustworthy? Parts of it sound a little too good to be true. On a different note I'm super excited about the new AT-RT set.
  24. Hey, it's like they say, get enough monkeys on typewriters and they'll write Shakespeare. Get enough Stormtroopers together aiming at the same thing and some of them will hit it eventually.
  25. It's almost kinda funny they can't turn their heads. It reminds me of Rebels where Rex kept complaining about how terrible Stormtrooper helmets are to see and move around in and with the new mold, not being able to turn their heads kinda gives them an excuse for being terrible shots The new Shadow Trooper looks great though I would've liked some more printing on the helmet. The anniversary figs don't do anything for me. Maybe if the selection was better(for me personally, objectively it's a good selection).
