Is there a need to lubricate the motor on these at all? It has been running without slipping for at least 45 minutes now, so heres hoping it keeps it up.

Thanks, Dan. This set is the original 1990's release. I did notice some of the wheels don't spin freely, so will investigate that next. Currently giving it a run with just the middle coach to see if that helps. EDIT: Just put the end car on. I also adjusted the placement of the wheel set, moving it back by one hole, as I noticed it derailed when put backwards. Ran well for a few laps, then started slipping again. I will borrow a track rubber from my club tomorrow night, and give the tracks a clean too. They don't look too grubby, but theres bound to be something on them.

Thanks, guys. I will set it up again and just let the engine do its thing for a while.

Thanks. The tyres look brand new to my eyes. The powered wheels dont turn easily, but I wouldn't expect them to, since all the HO scale ones dont move at all without power.

I just set up my brothers old set for the first time in a good 12+ years. Was plesantly surprised when it worked as it should, after all that time. When I run just the lead car and add the middle coach, it goes around the track ok. However, when I add the end car, it slips and wheel spins on the curves unless the speed is way up, and then it derails of course. Is there a way this can be prevented, either by adding weight to the front or trying to lighten the load? Even adding more straight track to the middle of the radius to make them wider? Many thanks in advance for suggestions and advice.

NIce! Would look great next to the Friends hot dog stand, and I love the baby carriage, too. Actually looks nicer than the one from the Fun in the Park.

Hope your recovery is pretty quick. Can only imagine it wouldn't be nice standing in one spot for the time it takes to feel the bags. -

Finally. Hoping to check Warehouse tomorrow after work. Haven't been well these last couple of weeks, so see how I feel, whether I can be bothered walking or not, lol. -
I don't think I would buy a second castle, mainly due to "where do you put it?!" But would love some slightly smaller sets like the parade floats, rides, shops or sideshow booths. maybe the train station even?

Sweet, thanks. Will go through the stash and see what I can find.

I did the same, except without closing the top in as I couldn't see how to without it looking weird. How did you do yours?

Great, thanks for that. Now to wait for a decent sale on that set.

Can anyone say if the Magic Carpet from the Princess Jasmine set will fit where the provided one is? I don't think the one they included looks good enough and plan to swap them out, if it will fit right.

Ba-doom tish! I am hopefully going to work a deal with a local who has two coming. fingers crossed he will let me pay it off over a few weeks, but if not, will figure a way around it.

Does anyone know how tall and wide this set is yet? Never mind, see its in one photos. Nice to see some more photos that are taken closer in and show more details.

Same here. I'm hoping to see an ice hockey rink along the same lines as the soccer pitch [3569] released a while ago, except I would rather figs be stationary rather than "game pieces". Somewhere large enough to fit enough figs to make it look like two teams, with the markings and nets.

Perfectly true to character. One of my favourite small birds.

It looks good, and I love the rotating christmas tree. I'm planning on converting it to 9V, but wouldnt have enough track to encircle the Village properly. How do we think this would look around the merry go round, make it like an amusement park train ride. I really like the jacket the "grandmother" has, nice change to the usual jacket and scarf every WV seems to come with.

Thanks. I will no doubt be asking a few questions when the time comes, if I get stuck. :)

Thanks for that. Just dug my brothers one out, and will need to put a few parts back together, and then will set it up and test it. I plugged the controller in and the light came on, so thats something at least.

Does anyone think this can be modded to work on the old 9v chassis? My brother has one of those trains here somewhere, and I'm hoping to use that instead of PF, assuming the old one still works.

Awesome!! A friend of mine is a qualified fireman for steam engines, so I'm going to hunt down a minifig wearing the right clothing to replicate him. Will have to buy some straight track so it can fit around the Village properly, and look into PF for it.
