After leaving Arlinsport Sir James journeyed east to Port Raileigh, Berrelli. Once anchored, his first stop was The Flask and Flagon, a favourite watering hole of the port where he met with Lieutenant Watton. Out of all his men, the Lieutenant was most familiar with the island, for he had accompanied Sir James on his previous trip island where they first encountered the Ténotclaxcans. The next day they would be attending an annual ritual, held in honour of their sun god (not the main Monkey God, but a lesser god with great importance for farming). They trekked a little outside of Port Raleigh to the ritual site, where a strange event was taking place. The members of the tribe were taking it in turns to walk across hot coals to honour the sun god. At first Sir James was a little uptight about getting involved the celebrations taking place, he didn't hold with most superstitious nonsense, as he called it, and the headgear of the tribe was just plain odd. But they had a purpose for being here, he hoped to engage the help of one of the tribesmen, a cousin to the young King Azuma, by the name of Akatu, for the purpose of strengthening Corrington's farming in the region. The Ténotclaxcans were experts at farming these lands and Sir James was keen to learn more from their techniques and hoped to employ Akatu to oversee the construction of his plantations. But as the evening got underway (and Sir James downed more of the strange pink liquor produced by the Ténotclaxcan) he started to loosen up and even donned some local headgear. This is my third freebuild of the month, so if you are not from Corrington then approvals are much appreciated and as always, c&c are always appreciated.

Corrington approves Nice tail, although I'm glad he got away, ending up as pirate lube sounds like a horrible ending for such a magnificent creature!

The Empire of Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion
BrickOn replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Dear Sir, The terms you propose are acceptable to myself. For 15 doubloons you may have the use of the vessel until such time you are no longer in want of it, and all profit from her use will be yours. As for the the matter of license, it is my belief that you must fill out the necessary paperwork for the crown, but as this is your first venture on the seas, no doubloons will be deducted from your accounts. While I am at liberty to act accordingly in these matters, I have not yet discovered the name of the vessel in question. Perhaps you, Mr Van Moor, will have better luck in these matters than I. Her size is 2 and it has been suggested that with ample space for cargo and her current guns, she could be considered a Well Rounded vessel. However if you wish to purpose her for Trade you may chuse to licence her as such. You may relay this response to Mr Hawksmoor, and carry out the necessary arrangements regarding this matter. I wish you fair winds and good prosper with the vessel, your humble and faithful servant, James William Chase.- 897 replies

Got my chicken suit guy today, had to get it shipped to the UK since Norway always seems behind on Promos.

They've been out in Norway from 1st March too... a local shop has them all... although I did not notice them at first because the white on the packaging did not stand out as looking legoish.

[ESL - MTF] Is Gold an Instrument?

So pretty, such an elegant design. And I'd like to echo the thanks for the innards picture... I like to see how these things are constructed. Definitely a fitting instrument for Eslandola. -
[Cor - FB2 March -Ship] A mysterious little boat
BrickOn replied to BrickOn's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I heard about this well she's not licensed just yet, maybe the sea rats will have had their fill of small fry this month and it'll be safe for her to venture out next month. Well she'd probably sit a little lower if I had more of those sapphires to raise the water line, but yes she is very high. 2 WR thanks, I'll keep that in mind when if I get around to the licence (I feel like I am almost counting on losing a ship this month). -
So the banana boat supplies the banana shop,? Nice little system you've got going there and a very impressive lantern, clearly a profitable system too! :-)

[COR - Feb MRCA] Saved by Dark Lightning
BrickOn replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Yay more micro ships :-) I really like them... About the focus, as the others have said the final effect just doesn't look quite right to me. Personally I find the out of focus minifigure a little distracting... for me he could be placed just a bit further to the edge of the scene... so maybe just cropping the photo just left of his tricorn (and then maybe adjust the top and bottom to get the ratios you like)... I'm usually guilty of just pointing my phone at stuff and seeing what happens, but since you've gone to the effort of doing the forced perspective I think it pays to fiddle with the composition. That could just be enough to draw the eye more to the focal point of the points, or you could go down Bregir's route of a circular crop, that could work too. Either way its a cool scene and something I want to try myself. -
A fine looking vessel, I think the effect you've achieved with brown 1x4s looks really good on her sides. I like the story too, especially the message in the bottle part, have a safe voyage. But I reckon with the wind blowing out that main sail those flags on top are definitely flying in an odd direction (and that's the extent of my current ship knowledge used up).

[SR - FB2] - March '16 - Dugay's Hut
BrickOn replied to Kwatchi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice hut, I do like the trans white on grey fro water, looks very realistic. After reading your post, my initial thought was wow your son has a lot of brown tile pieces in his collection... but then I realised you probably didn't build the entire thing for his bricks, just pinched his spider web (typical Sea rat behaviour). Looks good.
