  1. Thanks for your appreciation. Segway started this trend, but they have large wheels and are bulkier, so my model looks more like a hoverboard with handle bar. Forgot to mention the two brave builders that inspired this build, @Burf2000 with his EV3 hoverboards and @Zerobricks with the strong BuWizz puller platform. Thank you both very much!
  2. Hey guys! I wanted to show you my latest MOC, a life size hoverboard, built for the ongoing "The power of BuWizz competition", where you should build a model that demonstrates the amazing feats of strength that BuWizz can achieve. I've been working on this MOC for 2 weeks now, and I am very glad I got it done, just in time. It was a cumbersome task, as the forces at work are huge and I wanted to stay 100% Lego (not counting BuWizz ofc). As you will see in the video, I built it for my youngest son, age 5. He's 110 cm tall and weights 19 kg with clothes on, but the hoverboard can easily hold his weight. He can control it by himself, using the BuWizz beta app on my phone, which fits nicely on the handle bar, which also helps for balancing. Technical stats: 1 BuWizz 4 XL motors 16 Model Team wheels Height: 80cm Lenght: 45cm Width: 28cm Weight: 2kg First, let me show you some photos: Let's move on to the video: If you want to see more photos, see my Flickr album here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/braker23/albums/72157677275777147 Well, that's all for now, let me know what you think
  3. Awesome plane! I love the color scheme, overall looks and especially the functions, which are more than you can ever want, in a plane of that size. Congrats, you built a winner MOC
  4. Omg! This is amazing! I am thrilled by this result and very pleased that many people really appreciated my biplane. Congrats to @Rudivdk and @kodlovag for those awesome entries, this is a night to remember :)
  5. I am very pleased that you like my model, the countless work hours are all worth it. Seems that multiple people said it does not look like Lego, from a distance, my purpose is achieved
  6. Now this is a very sci-fi helicopter, unique and innovative as well. The way you motorized those rotors is simply genious, both light and effective. The one-way mechanism is something I have never seen before, honestly. Color scheme is very catchy, I just love it. You are a wordy competitor, good luck in this amazing contest!
  7. 11. Boeing Stearman Kaydet PT-17 Also known as Model 75, it's a military aircraft used to train cadets (hence the name), that was built in the 1930's, in the United States. It had 2 cockpits, in order to accommodate the instructor and the student. With it's Continental R-670-5 seven-cylinder air-cooled radial engine (220 hp), it reached a top speed of 135 mph (217 km/h) and it's service ceiling was 13.200 ft (4000 m). No idea why I prefer talking about it at past tense, cause around 1500 planes are still functional, to this day. Let's switch to some more factual data, next. Functions: - motorized rotor - working ailerons (front) - working elevators (back) - functional tail rudder Technical Specs: Scale: 1:19 Weight: 956g Lenght: 46cm Wing span: 52cm Height: 18cm Video: Photos: Discussion topic:
  8. As far as I know, that rule has been in place for every recent Eurobricks contest, so yeah, it's all good. By the way folks, check out my new photos, now with stickers
  9. Erik, when I saw the reply notification, I was hesitant. Your opinion is very important to me, so I am pleased that you appreciate my model. You are right about the WIP photos, I am still not ready to come out, but sometimes a new point of view is exactly what you need, in order to get it right and stop wasting time on your own. I will probably try this on the next competition, if I decide to participate. You noticed the areas where I struggled the most, the wing ends and the wing support pillars, which had to be slim and with no holes at all As functions go, I have tried to incorporate all the important ones. First there is the rotor, which is driven by an M motor, placed where the real engine resides. Because of the internal structure, I had no room for a small battery box inside the plane, so I built a hatch in the cockpit floor, in order to get the cable out. This way, I can power it from an external BB placed under the wheels and leave it spinning when it will be on display, on future Lego exhibits. Next, the ailerons are operated by a joystick and the elevators with a lever, both found inside the 1st cockpit, similar to the real plane. As I could not fit also the tail rudder in there as well, I decided to use a HoG approach instead and placed this in the 2nd cockpit. I actually made a photo for this purpose, see it below. One last thing: everything I build has to be sturdy and playable as well, I am the proud father of 2 boys and they basically represent my QA department
  10. Thank you very much, coming from you it means a lot to me. Strings were in my mind as well, and I already tried to add some. But as those require connection points, it's rather impossible at this point because I am have very few yellow connectors left... Thank you very much! Of course, without a demo video I stand no chance, there are plenty fantastic builds already. I am gonna film it tonight, hope it goes well. Thanks mate! But honestly, what do you mean about the active build topic? I read the rules also now, I see no such requirement. Hope you're wrong, cause I do not have any WIP photos... Anyway, I do not relate to this WIP build fashion. Any of my builds takes loads of time and I am never satisfied enough in order to make photos, unless it's done and looks exactly how I imagined it. Thank you all for your kind words, I am really thrilled that you like my model
  11. From the first time I saw the theme for this Lego Technic contest, I was intrigued by it and wanted to give it a try, but it had to be a biplane. I have a soft spot for these aircrafts, after seeing them in many documentaries and old Hollywood movies. And after some time on the world wide web, I was hooked on the striking blue/yellow color combination on the Boeing Stearman Model 75. It's basically a military trainer aircraft built starting from 1934, in the United States. More than 10k were built until 1940, and after the WWII, they were sold to civilians. This was a great move, cause they were used as crop dusters, then as sport and acrobatic planes used in air shows. Around 1500 are still in use today, and many are at display in museums around the world. But enough of this, you can read more about it and see real photos on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing-Stearman_Model_75 I tried my best to replicate the sleek lines of this marvelous biplane, while including relevant functions, such as: Functions: - motorized rotor - working ailerons (front) - working elevators (back) - functional tail rudder Technical Specs: Scale: 1:19 Weight: 956g Lenght: 46cm Wing span: 52cm Height: 18cm As the model is finished, see some representative photos here: So guys, I managed to get the stickers on, so here is the final model: See more detailed photos on my Flickr account: https://www.flickr.com/photos/braker23/albums/72157705259798851/with/46179286365/ Video is done and online, let me know what you think about functions: Thank you all for your time!
  12. This is an amazing build, I love it! Model Team style at it's best, and the scale is enormous. Details are spot on, functions as well, what more do you want?
  13. Awesome work, mate! That design is very clever and sturdy, yet so simple. Congrats on this achievement!
  14. Same for me, I guess you need to change some publish options on the new app. Can't wait to test it
  15. OMG! This is the first contest I win, here on EB, so I am very pleased Thanks to all voters, participants and BuWizz team, it was an awesome competition!
  16. I just love it! And not because it's lime The resemblance with the real car is amazing, honestly. And the transmission is compact and solid. Supported it already, great job!
  17. Thank you guys, I really appreciate it. I was not used to building at this scale, but it's a nice challenge and I will surely try again
  18. I just love it! That gimbal is superb, the arms and multiple tools are very well-thought. Impressive build, it truly rocks
  19. So, here's my last-minute entry, a model of the amazing Lamborghini Miura from 1969. See more about it here: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/168275-lamborghini-miura-1969-buwizz-small-car-competition/ Good luck to all BuWizz participants
  20. So, this is a MOC of a very special car, the Lamborghini Miura featured in the opening scene of the 1969 movie, The Italian Job. At its time, it was the fasted car in the world, had a very powerful central V12 engine and a truly unique body. As this car was built for the BuWizz Small car competition, the scale of the car dictated most of it's looks. Making the body was a real pain, but I am quite happy with the end result and its overall speed. But enough about me, here's the video entry :) And some photos, so you can see all the details: See more photos of my creation, here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/braker23/albums/72157701191523471 For the ones that have no idea how a Miura looks like, see the official page: https://www.lamborghini.com/en-en/brand/masterpieces/miura Thank you all for your time, feel free to ask me if you want to know more about this model. Good luck in the competition!
  21. That's very good, I love the way it folds and the almost real-life scale, good job!
  22. They probably mean liftarms, they are clearly NOT using the studded frames listed above. Although, some transparent liftarms were released, namely 32278 and 32009.
  23. Hey guys! I wanted to show you photos from the latest expo the Indominus Rex took part, the one organised by Brickenburg in my home-town of Cluj-Napoca, at the start of June. As you can see, most of my LEGO Technic MOCs were on display, but I can tell you this: the kids noticed the I-Rex first, as expected Thank you for your time, cheers!
  24. Amazing little truck, very detailed and good looking. I just love you built those gates, thanks for sharing!
