Interesting, that we get 2 sets / 6 sets and not 4 and 4. Might this be to be in time with a release of Indy 4 on DVD (and the usual box set) or on cable TV? Might make sense, also cause we get sets from the older movies in january. If we get these sets, I will be totally excited about it. Shanghai would give us LOTS of new minifigs, perhaps even a tuxedo Indy and a rickshaw guy. The Flying Wing will be an interesting model and grey plates pack. Luckily there is no chance lego is going to put these new plane pieces into the model. While the cars are probably 6-wide and around 35

brickset/ lugnet/ brickshelf/ peeron are also our friends. My vote goes to Echo Base. I collect SW since 1999 but this one is simply horrible, especially the yellow pieces.

2 Y-Wings for 50% off. Have one already, but an attack squadron quite soon! Just need to figure out a good landing gear I could use for all of them. And well, build a Massassi outpost also..

First I thought that it is a bit too huge, but I checked the site of them and they have a 2,0 MW system with rotors of either 80 or 90 meter length.... guess the scale of tlc's choice seems alright... I would have preferred a less green and countryside environment, more harbour and coast like, what is more easy to put into your lego city for some reasons, but whatever. In reality they are also quite more often on the countryside. And hewman is right, this is too sweet for most of us cause we didn't expect it at all. We will see if it is easy to get or not.

Love this set! Nice review also.. I had the set in my hands a few times but never bought it, though I drooled at it, I remember. I guess I didn't get pocket money at that time, it was not that common around europe in the 80s I guess. So better to say that no one bought it for me.. A few years later I got the safari truck, which is also really sweet. I like the colors of this model and the detail of it. The minifig is really classic, made only for this set (appears in some later train sets as well) and shows the exact image of the truck on the shirt, including the motor piece. One of the most detailed and loveliest little sets from a sweet era of Legoland city! PS Voted "O" for Outstanding.

I just have a bad feeling about the pirate line. TLC is avoiding human vs human things since some time, e.g. the mechanical enemies for the Agents, mutant animals for Aquazone, the castle line that contains more fantasy elements than Lord of the Rings. I know that a lot of people like new castle, but it is just not my piece of cake, think it is terrible (despite the knight minifigs). Guess a new pirate line would be too much like Pirates of the Caribbean, with fantasy elements all over, flying ships and all this mess. Which is (sorry, no offense) NOT interesting for me. Will get a few minifigs anyway..

I was really thinking a lot about this. shortlisted were - Bib "Twisthead" Fortuna - Snow "Ipodstyle" trooper - Darth "Helmet" Vader - Lando "superrare" Calrissian (CC) - no, not from Cafe Corner.. - Slave "flesh" Leia - Rebel "uh, there he is" Trooper and the price goes to.... not rare, not unique, not old, not yellow.. but I love this little guy!

I expect a new hospital and an ambulance, hopefully a bit bigger and more unique (attention, tlc!) than the last one, which was the same as the prison transport/ two-face' van/ jokers Iscream-van/ arkham van etc etc etc. something like this perhaps (credits to Yanagisan): What I would like to see is something completely different. What is NO police, No rescue, No ambulance, No firestation, No construction but something civilian.. but therefore we got the cafe corner series I guess..

I really intended to buy it and I was happy it came for this price. I was looking forward for this since 10 years. That I didn't preorder it already, that I thought "oh well, I will get this for christmas, walk into the lego store and carry it out what is so much more fun than using lame internet" will keep me awake a few nights. I am not going to buy it anymore and I am not going to spend the 300€ on any other lego sets. I am strict with this cause you all cannot believe how pi..ed off I am about this. Whatever, life goes on. I will keep my eyes open when the Tantive IV comes out (if), but I don't think they're going to make the same exact mistake ever again. me out, still angry

After thinking a bit, and having the Airport Shuttle on my list as well, I go for these: I don't own any Ninja yet and always wanted to start collecting, but misb sets are rather expensive.. And I don't own a HP set but I think this one is interesting for the parts and minifigs (don't even know the movie or book). And well, place one is WW, best theme ever and this the sweetest set ever besides Indians and Sheriffs Office that I own. Nice topic! Very interesting to see what other people want! (Especially if you have them by yourself.. )

(I sold the box and game already, cause you cannot do too much, SA was sweeter I think and I still play it) 2. playing Densha de Go Yamanotesenhen, cause it reminds me of my time in Japan like nothing else. The sounds of the train.. 1. trying out the Wii for the first time. It was massiv. I don't have it and I don't plan to buy one, but it is too much fun! Special prices for the impressions I had playing Super Mario Land, Ridge Racer, Metal Gear Solid, Shenmue, Tekken 2, GTA:SA, GTA IV, PSP in general and Lumines in specific for the first time!

so far the Rebel Scout Speeder, should buy one more though. Saw it for 8,40€ the other day. I am just an OT collector, so there will be the death star probably, but I will wait for a deal or the info on Tantive IV yes/no next year. We will see. It will be a poker game. Me against the death star. It is just a bigger football and made out of plastic. I will win. Considerably. I felt in love a bit with the new RGS and the V-19 to be honest. But I think they don't fit in my collection. Perhaps not. Oh and I need one of these Stormtrooper battlepacks. Will sell the black one and keep the whities. Who needs a black stormtrooper? Was it anywhere in the movies? Nope. It is "Expanded Universe", and that's a place MY minifigs never heard of anyway. He will not get along with them. If I like the whities I will buy another one of these. That's for 2008 I guess.

It is very wise not to deal with money you will probably have when they come out but with what you have now, first of all. Congrats on that, not everyone is that mature when it comes to our favourite hobby. What Benny said is true, there is no need looking on brickset, lugnet or here what people claim or rate the best set, it is all up to you. I wonder if watching the series will make you want one specific set even more, when is it coming out in the US anyway? (hope you got what I meant: the Falcon is only so popular cause of its "role" in ANH and ESB for example) Perhaps that could have an influence on you too.. For my part, I am already highly addicted to the landing mechanism of the v-19, though it is quite expensive and has no good figs. The AT-TE looks nice but boring and the RGS is well... it is the RGS! You cannot go wrong with it and the playability with the rear doors and front things seems also quite nice. Just my impression, sevy. Hope you will be happy with your decision, there is nothing better than preordering lego!

Thanks for the comparision! You can really see how things changed. I don't own any of the later sets like this but a lot 4wide vehicles from the 80s and early 90s, and though I know I am old fashioned in this topic, I think 12wide vehicles are a bit too much. I really tried to get into town again but it doesn't feel like lego anymore. 6wide is totally ok and I agree that 7990 for example is just lovely, but I cannot understand these monster-big vehicles, against which the minifigs seem lost and unimportant. I am happy that lego decided to make the Indy vehicles small and I am just shocked about the size of the new lego planes or the Batman vehicles. It doesn't feel right to me. But just because my expectations are based on my experience I made in the past, I guess. You have the new plane, rrigs? Would love to see it together with a 4wide passenger jet.. Keep on the interesting topics!

...perhaps not a 500 or 400€ set this time, tlc? But being honest, the only thing I really miss beside Tauntauns is a 100€ / $ Tyridium Shuttle with working boarding ramp and landing gear like this new ship from the clone wars, folding out when you move the wings up.. that would be sweet.. But I see that it is difficult to make, being stable, having space for all the minifigs and being huge. I also take anything else OT - Rebel-ish
