Percentage is alright, colour selection is alright (I am not for freaky colours but that's just me). Perhaps a few more tan parts. A few more technic pieces would be alright, not many but some perhaps to make builds more complex. And PLEASE more minifig parts. Not only the usual technican/ policeman/ dustman/ fireman torso. I guess people have them. A lot. Also no Stormtrooper or Clonetrooper parts. What for? We got battlepacks. What we need is more variety in civilians, like a black suit torso (wasn't there one not too long ago?), castle civilian torso, Mutt hair in black and brown, blond female hair and what we really really need is a fleshy head. I would prefer Bruce Wayne face, cause it is my favorite one - versatile for so many figs! I don't see any use of minifig parts from Space Police, Miners etc. These are too special. Right now we have the torso from Mr. Crabs in PaB. What exactly are we supposed to use this for? For most there is no use for too many of these parts, and if we want a Squidman we buy one set, right? Thanks a lot! Oh and guys & girls around here - don't forget to write on your calendar to get a PaB on the last days this year - who knows what parts will be erased...

Smokebelch, hi there! I was looking at this topic very often to look out for new pics from you, I simply love them! Just one question though - do you have Indy figs and would you also like to make the one or other shot of him? cheers EDIT: or just mix SW with Indy? I guess it would be some funny images!

I wonder if these BP are really Hoth battlepacks. People here and elsewhere were asking for Hoth BPs, and also seeing the same in some blurry images: Snowtroopers, Hoth Rebels, even a Tauntaun and a laser turret. But.... isn't it exactly what we got this year? Why should they come out with the same thing, just divided into the factions? And why do people want exactly what we got this year?

I see a lot of MOCs these days that use parts of licence themes, especially minifig parts. I agree that Spongebob figs are very special and not at all to use in other themes than Bikini Bottom related, but if you compare the minifigs of the Indiana Jones Line to the ones from City, you will find lots of interesting and unique designs, so versatile for city and lots of MOCs. Star Wars is also more than it seems, it is just a hell-on-earth design class for anything space-related. In my opinion they co-operate, what works really well. I have no real inside on what TLC cuts from Castle to make a new Star Wars set, but I guess it is not much. I wouldn't like to miss Lego's own themes, neither Star Wars or Indy or Batman.

What do you want to see in the next round of the new line?
Zzz replied to martinsuper's topic in LEGO Pirates
Would love to see an exclusive set with a small harbour and merchant ship, like Market Village, just in Pirate style. 1500 pieces, 100 €. A dream coming true. No offense, but I have the 1989 collection and so far there is no real need to get a 2009 set. Even in the 90s there was nothing really new after 1989, except the Trading Post or the Islanders perhaps. -
Home One now on €uropean s@h - 130 Euros seems a bit steep compared to Endor (which has more figures and more parts) Midi MF also available for 40€

Very nice! I like the movie a lot, even it has this pre-MTV slowness. And you used my favorite minifig head on Deckard! And I love how you placed the light on the pictures, very cool shadows! Keep it up, cheers

As long as you don't intend to buy 10x ToD, sell the figs so you can build a rollercoaster for free, shouldn't it be something nice?
-
Good work - I guess I will use your guns as some inspiration for my B-Wing mods! (When I have enough time to start it.. )

Nice review! So many alternate models with so few parts - amazing! Why don't they use alternate models anymore on the boxes? Isn't this what lego is all about? One personal question: How much did you spend on this? (Seems like kind a good condition!)
-
You can get the US version from british/ french/ or german Amazon - about 17 Euros at this moment. There seems to be also a GERMAN version of it, that will include Luke as well. 15 € for that one.

I actually like it! Since I live in Europe, I never got my fingers on a 3PO or Vader (and I'd rather go with an Endor set than a 3PO for the same price) but I am interested. Even more since this is not the "final" or "perfect" version of a minifig, but more a nice idea to celebrate. Something funny, extravagant, special and a bit ridiculous. Just hope it comes to Europe. THANKS a lot for the sharp pictures!

The other day I found a "Ben 10" action figure in a toy shop in italy, never heard of it before. So even if the statement sounds like Galidor-like figures, I guess it still has to be a "building toy", if the other company didn't lose the licence for it. But I doubt we'll see minifigs.
-
So producing a video game means that they still hold the license for HP, right? And I agree with others that we shouldn't expect any new sets coming out (like what happened to Batman video game and toys). So... it means TLC actually thinks that 1. potencial buyers/ users of the Lego toy and 2. potencial buyers/ users of the video game are 2 different targeting groups (or at least not overlapping too much). Interesting.

I have 2 cents to add - from the narrative viewpoint I was left VERY unsatisfied. I had the impression that the episodes were cut together from something longer, like there has not been a good storieboard to start with. The interesting moments were too short, the boring conversations too long. No interesting characters, even if one is Darth Vader! Very bad editing. I am not that used to TV series (I am into movies) but compared to other animated 22 minute tv shows like Futurama or south Park, Ghost in the Shell SAC or even the Simpsons, I feel that CW doesn't make it to tell a good story. From an aesthetical viewpoint (that is also quite important for me) I found the new improvisation of the music horrible, perspectives on the action is sometimes weird, sound effects are great. But FIRST OF ALL I find the drawings terrible, first of all the characters. I really dislike them. Not only the facial expression, movements, but more the overall look. Perhaps I am the only one within the EB people who dislikes the CW character drawings but really likes the Lego minifigs. I think they look cute.

I usually improve my SW sets, most often to a limit where I spend more money on the parts I need for the mod than I did for the set. And quite often I found myself at a point where I wonder if I should better start my own MOC, cause 90% is modded or so. The only SW vehicle I didn't mod yet is the later B-Wing, but there are plans for a small landing gear..
-
... cause SW tanks didn't kill real people, they exist only in a phony world. But you could argue (ok, I do it here for you:) ) that they made a german WW2 plane for the summer release. A fighter that was used by the Nazis and that did actually kill people. The tank in Indy 3 was actually used by the british in WW1, killing lots of people - for sure, but at least it was not used by the Nazis. (And when I write here it doesn't even convince me to be an argument, but from a certain point of view it might be one.) IF we ever see the tank it will be a s&h /TRU exclusive and Limited Edition. I believe. So it will not appear everywhere for too long, in the official catalogue etc. I might be wrong. Zzz out

Thanks a lot for the review, will get my 2 copies of this when it is in normal shops and I can get discount. It is a quite good set, I like the new goggles and the Laser turret the most, after the Tauntaun. What left me in wonders is the normal smiley faces on the troopers. This is Star WARS, isn't it? Anyway, I guess this and Endor will sell like hot biscuits and TLC will remember to give us some OT sets next year!

REVIEW: Indiana Jones 7196 Chauchilla Cemetery Battle
Zzz replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Licensed
I see why TLC is afraid of making new pieces, but like the tommy guns comes 6 months too late for the Shanghai Chase, the new bike comes 18 months too late for the Motorcycle Chase. I guess that would have looked awesome (in darkgray of course, not like this). (Actually the cross bike piece was a new one, but I assume TLC thought it might be more useful than a bike in 1930s look) Thanks a lot for this review, might get the set for pieces, minifigs and bike. btw.... am I the only one who dislikes the new Indy head totally? Was he ever smiling, fooling around, making jokes, laughing?? The funniest thing about his character (based on James Bond and super-masculine B-Action-Adventure movies of the 50s) is that he is actually the tough guy, NOT funny. Sigh.... But I guess I am also the minority who dislikes standard smiles on the Hoth Soldiers.... -
Nice review! I wouldn't have anything against it to pay 10 Euros more and get the motorcycle guy (with Mutts Bike in grey?) and his monkey and I am a bit sad about this cause there is no chance in the world we will get him now, but this doesn't overshadow what I like about this set. I don't miss the exploding truck though, since it gives me a headache how to fit the ninja-wrap-guy into any vehicle. About what we get, there are a few cons of course, like the missing scimitar that TLC no longer produces (an Indy line without one is still strange), or the "turban" piece (that is not like arabs fix it but like Hindi would!), but the rare pieces and lovely minifigs make me (almost) forget about these things.

Does anyone know how to get these custom motorbikes?
Zzz replied to simonwillems's topic in LEGO Town
Guess it will fall with front wheel x 2, but back wheel x 2 would look rather odd, like an all terrain Vespa... So this is for looks and use I assume.
