  1. Since I saw only posts about being on/off-topic or availability in the last couple of pages, it might be interesting to discuss 10198 Minifig Tantive IV for 250USD.
  2. LIKE - "civilian" minifigs like shipwrecked guy or the girl - shark - colour of the new cannon - soldiers (except head) NOT LIKE - unfinished sets - island piece, blue rowboat, hull pieces - more crocodiles than sharks - minifig heads - not enough detail in the sets, and this hidden by strange colours and new parts
  3. 7658 is minifig scale, the other is a lot bigger. The last X-Wing we got was horrible. Not enough detail, guns were hilarious and way too short, the overall look was not smooth and sharp like the original. It was ... blocky. I agree absolutely with others here that an X-Wing with todays pieces and technics, 600+ pieces would be absolutely lovely.
  4. They don't produce the scimitar anymore. And we all know what TLC managers think about new parts.
  5. A wonderful review for a wonderful set - thanks a lot for this! I really like the detailed bridge and the play functions on the ships, which are of course the absolute best part of it! Funny that a licence theme brings us the best truck we ever had, the best plane, and now the best small motorboats! I can imagine one of the boats on a brick built lake coma with Bikini Leia and germans mechanic on it, I love summer!
  6. They are going to use some filters for all the opinions added, otherwise it is impossible for them. Like searching for the word "train" or "Star Wars" etc.
  7. Thanks Kim for adding a poll, and thanks everyone for you taking part so far! I am really surprised with the results so far - and still curious how it goes on! Thanks a lot!
  8. - 6209 Slave One (It didn't do it for me, not even for 50€ on sale - now I learned to like it!) - Cantina (terrible set, overpriced - now I miss a Dewback! and Greedo...) that's for me, and I guess there is no chance to get them for a good price.. interesting topic!
  9. It was a hard decision, but choice 2 for me. Thanks for this, TLC! I wonder why they don't at least activate cookies in this poll or something. Now some nerds will waste their free sunday to click on the Airport Shuttle a thousand times... I know I know, it is off topic, but didn't the Slave I win in the SW poll? Am I completely wrong??
  10. Since SW suffered from the change from yellow to flesh minifigs, but still uses the same 10 year old face design (no pupils, less detail), we now have different and unluckily unique minifigs with - no pupils, yellow (SW) - no pupils, flesh (SW) plus from all the other themes - pupils, yellow (from all non-licences) - pupils, flesh (from Indy or Speed Racer) So what do you do about it? Do you mix them? Even with the CW figs? I am quite interested in this cause for it is a major decision and a kind of mess what to do. Imho they look strange all together and a choice has to be made. Also I found it rather sad we still get the old Han and Leia faces later this year, as well as getting the classic smiles on the Hoth Troopers. But since no-pupils-flesh-faces (not classic smile) are really rare, it is difficult to make them into something more cool, as well as making them into unique minifigs. On the other side I am also a big fan of the newer pupil faces, used in Indy or even in yellow in the usual themes. So here we go again! Please take part in a poll! What do you do: - keep every minifig as it is and mix them up - mod them all to yellow SW style - mod them all to flesh SW style - mod them into pupil yellow faces - mod them into pupil flesh faces - mixing up mods and originals - collecting Indy and giving a brick about this I hope I didn't get any of you who were not thinking about this yet into to big troubles.. And if someone is out there who says "What, Han Solo with another face, that is blasphemy!" Try it out, it doesn't look that bad! Thanks a lot for reading and making the poll, Zzz out!

    City '09?

here you are: photos of the new wind turbine from Lego Club Magazine! (Also note the blue sedan, that looks different from the pick up coming with the new garage. It seems to have 3L Lightsaber bars on the roof, but that could have been photoshopped or something.)

    City '09?

I wonder why no one posted this here already, or did I miss it completely? In the latest (german, but I think also european) Club Magazine there are pictures of the Camper and the Wind Turbine. (Unluckily I don't have a good camera in the moment, just the cell and that is shite. But I guess some people would like to see that..!)
  13. Swastikas on toys are forbidden in Germany and Austria. The symbol of the Luftwaffe is used in variations since 1914. Today it is just blue. So there is some difference. Thanks so far for the review, are you going to post pictures too?
  14. Aren't firehouses tall cause you need to put the hoses there? (In old ones?) Topic: Dark tan would be the best thing ever. And if they give us anything with a car or a truck, like a small factory, warehouse, whatsoever - I am so IN! (only modular houses, newer trains and Indiana Jones gave us some realistic minifig buildings and vehicles so far... there is too few!)
  15. Thanks for the review! I found the medical droid very useful for Echo Base!
  16. I always thought it would be against the non-violence policy so I did shut up, but since I found out that the new Indiana Jones is PG13 in the US, same as "Quantum of Solace" - I would like to see james Bond as a new licence. (perhaps when Indy is over one day, since Indy was just a nod to 007 somehow) - Vehicles: Lots of different cars, planes, ships, motorcycles etc. - from all the different movies in realistic fashion with some gimmicks, easy to make sets with chase scenes from the movies (DB5, Goldfingers Rolls, Nelly, iceberg with interiour, Zeppelin, Lotus-Sub, Disco Volante etc etc.) - Minifigs: Bond in different suits, all the amazing villains (I don't want to make a list, but imagine Goldfinger, Odd Job, Dr. No, Blofeld, Jaws, Le Chiffre...), Bondgirls, M, Q and Moneypenny and also the henchmen - lots of cool figures! - playsets: perhaps Dr No's base or the volcano in Japan, Moonraker base, Goldeneye base, a Poker table set or something like this The James Bond series is the best known and longest running series of movies in history, it offers plenty of locations, vehicles and characters that are all known from endless times on TV. The character is one of the most famous characters created in the 20th century and legend to kids all over the world, especially boys. Even though there were never that man toys made about the movies, what is a big chance for TLC to own the market. I think it would be a wonderful theme that would be loved by boys and AFOLs alike with plenty of realistic models with very well playability. And i think the humour and funny self reference, carried by the well known characters and vehicles would deliver a good selling theme on one day. Thanks for reading! EDIT: I would be so glad to see anything with more realistic vehicles! So far there are only a few newer train sets and the Indiana Jones line for minifigs. Bond would cover the 60s - today, what would be a great addition for real life vehicles!
  17. the first picture is priceless, really! It was rather unusual to see it on EB, and it put in one picture what Lego is all about. Even if it was a broken box from an unloved theme, this is what it's all about! Touch it - love it. And I guess your statement about trains just made my day: "I hate trains! it moves !" (the funny thing is not the wrong grammar, don't worry! More the nihilistic viewpoint!) thanks a lot - Zzz out!
  18. guys, we didn't want to make this into another topic for set ideas! (Also you didn't amost add anything to the list I did in the first post...) There are already 2 idea topics for Indy, there is one especially for Young Indy and one for UCS, what is a bit too much I think. So what do you people think about the line? Will it stay for 10 years with endless remakes and all possibilities done, like Star Wars? What if there are 8 other strong sets next year? What afterwards? thanks, zzz out!
  19. No, it doesn't mean that. I just said the sales are so so, nothing else. Sometimes TLC decides to continue even when sales are poor, sometimes TLC cancels a line even when it is doing alright. So who knows. I would like it when Spongebob continues with 2 sets a year, but right now I think that TLC tries the way of doing something YES or NO, no inbetween solution - if you know what I mean? (off topic: Indy is doing really good, but some here agree with me in this topic I did, that if next year will be as strong as 2009, there are simply no new ideas for Indy...)
  20. Guys, we already have an older wishlist topic here. Perhaps a mod can merge them...? Thanks a lot!
  21. ... sometimes I don't understand this site, really. Someone is critizised by a mod cause he says he hates a Lego theme (and I really don't want to know how often someone here wrote the same about Bionicle, Clone Wars or Galidor without anything happening) - and then someone else can tell him to "PLEASE SHUT THE HELL UP"? anyway, back to topic: I am always interested in the choices TLC makes, and since I have some contacts to employees, I heard about the european market that Spongebob is only running so so. (And btw, Batman didn't sell that good in Europe. The US is crazy about superheroes, but not us here it seems) If there was no Disney contract, I would say it would continue a few years longer, but I guess this marks the end of Spongebob. Also it is sad to see something ending with only 2 sets. It was sad with Batman, sad with Harry Potter, sad with Mars Mission - and I was already afraid a few years ago that the OT section of SW died slowly, I was wrong! Anyway, I don't want to see Indy getting down like this. Better a strong year like 2009 and then Finito. Zzz out
  22. Is it right that the final minifig designs are not set yet? Neither the figures nor their box images at the toyfair in NY were final designs, right?
  23. - new AT-AT (I have 4483, but I am curious about the walking feature, also I need to change everything to new grey...) - Rebel Scout Speeder and Imperial Dropship (for minifigs) - Peril in Peru (didn't like the movie, but the plane is great!) - some SW magnet sets for minifigs AND - my first Pick a Brick order, what was quite fun to puzzle together, and I am looking forward for this A LOT. I guess I missed a few pieces I needed and I was sad not to get any bananas (sold out!), but anyway.
  24. I comment on the sets I own, since there is no reason to talk about the Death Star or Bionicle without having any of them. Favorite: Lots of pieces for a good price, my favorite colour, Marion minifig, Ark, very nice play features, nice stickers, very nice to display. Worst: Most of the constructions were a bit boring, minifigs were just ok, too many male figs (but the "Paradisa" girl was good!) - it was not bad but the worst I own.
  25. I would like this thread to be closed (and/or pictures removed) until another immature comment about the 9/11 picture might offend/ hurt/ disrespect someone in the EB community. Thanks a lot.
