One question for bonaparte and everyone who posted here already / reads this: I heard the rumor that direct sunlight will make the yellowing of white/ grey pieces (which came from sunlight through windows, not from smoking..) vanish also? Any experience with that? Thanks for sharing! (Nice topic and try btw, I have quite a lot of yellowed pieces, wonder how the chemicals work on grey pieces.. :'-( )

TRU : Take 3 pay 2 .. AUSTRIA & GERMANY!
Zzz replied to aayla-secura's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Look who is happy here.... :-D You seem to be surrounded by lego sales, Ayla! :-) just one question cause I am curious: it works only if you buy three sets the same price, then it is 30% off. (I guess less is not THAT big deal) so how do you do it? Are there always three sets the same price you actually want? Or do you go for 2 for yourself and sell the third of? oh, and 2nd question: does anyone know if they have the Sandcrawler..? 8-| thanks in advance! :-) -
to be honest, I wouldn't be pleased at all... I spend a lot of sweat and tears to get some rare minifigs and it was always wonderful to buy a new set and fall in love with new minifigs I didn't have. Or if it is for a rare one I bought of ebay or bricklink, it is massiv to receive a little padded envelope from the other side of the earth to get a missing fig for my collection. Buying one set and having 32 figures at once? Doesn't make it too special for me. Just my opinion. But I am more the "looking forward for a set and then getting it person", not the "buying all new sets from my favorite line on the first day person". Just a happiness thing, not a money thing. So for me: SW chess off! :-)

did anyone see this already? sorry if it was posted somewhere else before, didn't find it after browsing and searching! :-)

Help choose a Lego Star Wars 10th annaversiry set (2009) Part 2 - Voti
Zzz replied to Legoman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Captain Antilles and a silver 3PO? I would be excited...... :-$ -
greetings from the lego company - they will come back on you.. :-D :-D but seriously: last year we got 4 E1 sets... where should we take all the money from? 8-| an MTT would be nice, the first one is quite old already.. also the podracers.. but did they sell like hell? like.. let me say the snowspeeder? I doubt that. for my part: I didn't even buy the MTT and N1 yet... count me in for releasing things slow! :-D
-
don't get me wrong, I like these.. but I was hoping to get a big spaceship from Chris.... with a detailed cockpit for several minifigs, a boarding ramp and so on... like his creations... not a bunch of small things or a base... anyway - it is a big honour to work with TLC and I really appreciate your both' work! Keep up bricking! :-)

Which is your favorite lego star wars creature?
Zzz replied to darkrebellion's topic in LEGO Star Wars
isn't he more like "Alien" and less "creature"...? Help us, darkrebellion... what did you want to know? for me, "Aliens" are like minifig based, can speak (sort of) while creatures are roaring, big things... my choice: Bib Fortuna / Tauntaun (I know it is not released yet but it is in the videogame and it's too cute!) :-) -
A minifig space ship with a CC quality (and hopefully piece/price ratio)??? *wub* Count me in on this...! and april is so soon.... we should be able to get pictures within the next weeks!! I just hope for lots of grey and not too many colours...! I love to get info on new sets directly from the lego page... it is so... I don't know... .... official...? 8-| delicious......... :-D

Review: 7780 Batman - The Batboat: Hunt for Killer Croc
Zzz replied to aayla-secura's topic in LEGO Licensed
It is a tie between Two Face's escape and the batcave... but I would go with the cave... over 1000 pieces, nifty submarine, penguins, alfred, mr freeze, and and and.... it is wonderful...! especially for 38 -
Oh boy, taste is so damn different... and you mentioned Rammstein, so I wonder if you might be interested in "normal" stuff as well :-D what comes into my mind about music.. Hiphop: 5 Sterne Delux Reggae: Gentleman, Sam Ragga Band, Jan Delay Indie: Tocotronic Pop: Wir sind Helden, Mia, Tomte, Virginia jetzt, Klez.e yea, watch some videos on youtube and if you like it, get a cd from ebay or somewhere... german TV is actually pretty shite, but there was a series which got quite famous in europe, named "Berlin Berlin" - never watched it, but people said it was nice.. apart from that ... nothing to recommend... there ae a few good movie makers .. and we have 2008, it shouldn't be a problem to get these movies (also notice that in germany 99% of the dvds have subtitles or different languages, not like in italy or france.. check also the german amazon page and imdb for all this stuff and lots of info and impressions!) some good movies are "The lives of Others" or "Lola runs" (both won an oscar); also the movies from Fatih Akin are quite good ("Head-On", "In July", Short Sharp Shock") and perhaps you might like "Life Is A Constrution Site" and "Knocking on Heavens Door" (which I am not sure is subtitled...) Consider that almost all the movies are rated R in the US and are movies you shouldn't watch with your kids.. If you are interested in older movies, there were a few directors in the 70s who got really famous, but this might be too dusty for you.. cheers!! :-)

Isn't playmobil selling a lot less than lego, and aren't the prices compared to lego kind of cheap? Then it is funny to see dozens of new pieces every year..! just my thoughts.. the tomb robbers look cool!

watch the first trailer for Indy 4: Indy 4 teaser on yahoo (spoilers! ... obviously...) you will see the amphibious car with Irina (but she is not in the set..?) and the strange temple from the lego sets...! :-) -
too sweet - but what adds it to me, is the fact that it looks so shiny and dust free.... *wub* My 4483 is on display since it came out and collecting more dust than I collect minfigs :'-(

Help choose a Lego Star Wars 10th annaversiry set (2009)
Zzz replied to Legoman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Also I would love to see the ideas some here have in real, I am sorry but we have to be a bit more constructive here! :-( (don't want sound harsh!) TLC said 150 bucks, what is 1500 pieces. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see a Masassi Outpost and all this, but it is impossible to make this in 1500 pieces.... My suggestions for OT (cause I ain't heard of anything like AT-OT or the other PT things mentioned here 8-| ): 1. Rebel Medium Transport and Tauntaun *wub* 2. Tantive IV 3. Shuttle Tydirium (redesign) and speeder bikes, scouts and Ewoks (all made but long ago) Been there, done it: X, Y, B, A, Snowspeeder, MF, all the Ties, Sandcrawler, Hoth, Dagobah, Cloud City, Sail Barge, Cloud Car, Imp. Shuttle, At-At, ISD, T-16, Slave I, AT-ST, Ewok Battle, Jabbas Palace Difficult: Lars homestead (which is actually below the earth..), Cantina (not too much play value for kids) my 2 cent - when does the poll start? :-) -
Sail Barge for me! Both look great, have great minifigs and good and lots of parts for the price, BUT: I don't like the infinished look of the ISDs interior... :-)

Outback Airstrip 6444 Picture Review
Zzz replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
would love to have it - thanks for the review... too bad it was released in my dark ages, it would get along perfectly with this: which I own and simply love... *wub* outback on! -
if I can choose an MOC, I would take Patrick Yrizarrys japanese restaurant *wub* official set? Either the new Green Grocer or 4504 (if I can add a bit interior) .... good topic here! cheers!

I don't really understand people who want war toys. But it is just my opinion. I mean, I kind of understand the fascination of military power, violence as a workig solution to problems and the technical fascination of e.g. an aircraft carrier. But there is a thin line between romanticizing and actually showing the true face of war, which is the most ugliest thing someone can ever imagine. If you ever survived war and got away without losing your loved ones, parts of your body, having other injuries that will never heal or being raped- the psychic shock should bring you nightmares every night. The fascination people (especially in the US) get from the third Reich time is simply frightening and shocking to me. Toys that are based on this, or on other actual wars are not suitable for children. Perhaps the fact that Hollywood cinema (which has a major influence on popular culture all over the world) is often crossing the thin line and showing war not as what it is actually, people associate it with fictional images which have nothing to do with the cruel reality. Lego is actually doing a lot of war themes, where armed minifigs and vehicles fight each other. Take the Knights, Ninjas, Mars Mission, Star Wars and especially Exo Force as an example. Even if in WildWest, Indy or Pirates, things like treasure hunt is the main playground, the themes are driven by weapons and violence. Lego is doing pretty good in actually understanding not to cross any line (even if there were a lot complaints against the weapons in Exo Force)and sets up things in fantasy layouts. An actual war toy is the last thing I want to see from Lego and the last thing I expect. BUT if it is about a future war theme which is not based on any actual event, I would be fine with it. I am thinking about a futuristic Nintendo Wars meets Exo Force meets Star Wars meets Ghost in the Shell. I would probably be interested. If someone wants real war, MOC it! I like to see creations and scenes, cause I am grown up and know how to deal with it. Do I want my kids to play with it? Definetely NO. Just my three cent.... :-)

Also I was never interested in the "bad robots", I really liked the first wave and I thought that 2008 looks really nice! The bionicle parts always made me shiver, but the mechs and minifigs were really cool! I would have prefered a more darker look overall, with grey mechs and not too freaky additions, but I liked them enough to have the Stealth Hunter and Uplink still on display - I just love those simple designs and anime-look. I will get River Dragon now, it looks wonderful! And on sale I will add a few others, plus I will get Supernova and Sentry! EF lives! :-)

I know, but this is a direct statement from Lego: HS: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is noticeably absent from the first LEGO wave that features scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Why is the second film not represented and will we see it in LEGO form in the future? LEGO: Per our design and production frames, we could only translate a certain number of scenes in our first round of Indiana Jones products, and we chose to focus on those most iconic scenes from the original trilogy, which happen to come from Raiders and Last Crusade. There's no telling what could be in store for future development. interview :-)
