  1. A teaser is nice but as Graysmith said, the photo quality was hopelessly off. Also I second that a teaser at a time we got a more or less complete list already is just too late. I would suggest to have a teaser a) not covering the whole line up, b) much better photography skills & c) before any other rumours (I know it's hard to control but it can be controlled) Still, this is only valid for 2014, as we have basically pics of S10 and 11 already.
  2. This set disappoints. Why is TLC still sticking to the 4500 design of a Snowspeeder? Also, there are just too many mistakes and just nothing new we haven't seen in the past years. As this is probably gonna sell for 50€, it's a pass for me. Mistakes are so several: Luke's SS Rogue 3 had orange markings on it - the probe droid encuntered Chewie and Han, no one else - Tauntauns were not part of the battle - where is Dack? . . . etc etc. This is a lazy excuse of a set, thrown together in a hurry, and it's topped by one exclusive figure. TLCs selling strategy is so obvious that it hurts. This set and many more Hoth sets before, mainly the dull repetition of the 4500 model, now that's one of the reasons I personally don't find much joy anymore in collecting LSW.
  3. Oh I love your MOC! It's really spot on with all the elements from the movie, all small details! Also best Dallas' taxi MOC I have ever seen! Edit -one thing though, wasn't he blond?
  4. I think they'd come with pointy ears, there. Good selection. I instantly need the alien trooper. Several.
  5. Usually these tidbits (dutch toy store) tend to be true, so let me say I am rather surprised, as Frodo and the Ringwraith is a part of the recently released Weathertop set. That's an odd choice. Weathertop came even with 2 Ringwraiths & horses, so it's hard to get what they're planning with this. Also, we all know they want to make money and are holding back battlepacks as long as possible, but I don't have to like that. And who needs half a dozen of Frodos to get some more Ringwraiths? Not really anyone. IF you throw in an Arwen minifig, it's a completely different case, though.. The pirate ship? Seriously? As this is a rather unknown and unimportant faction from the last minutes of the trilogy, the reason to throw them into the lineup is probably that TLC wants a ship to be on the shelf. And even if it might be an interesting set, I may likely pass, as a pirate ship is the last thing that comes to my mind when I think of LotR. Eagles nest? Sounds refreshing. Yeah, I know about Creator and Chima, but still, it's something new. It's probably very very interesting for me. The other rumours I don't comment, as these sound not qualified yet to seriously talk about them. I might be wrong, though. I tend to be.
  6. These are all pretty amazing! Thanks for the find and puzzling these together! I didn't like S8 too much but this looks like TLC is back on track.
  7. As I honestly cannot wait to get my greedy fingers on new WW fleshies and sets, I checked imdb when to expect some first images and there you go - it's delayed to July / August release - what means no release in first half 2013 plus no images to be expected before February probably (it was December for PoP presentation which came out in May). Sigh....
  8. What's up with Maid Marian, wasn't she a female Elf at one point? I had high hopes for the new Hobbit long hairpiece and being able to have a small platoon of yellow Elves..
  9. Darn, I would love to have one of these - amazing minifig! But as an US exclusive so far, being not in any set, and having the potential for (little) army building, I don't see any chance to get my hands on him at a decent price..
  10. And another beautiful review! Price/piece makes this interesting, some fairly nice pieces, good spiders, Elves are sweet. Don't like the dwarves, though.
  11. I just stumbled over this on brickset, thanks for the translations, guys! I seriously hope we finally get an update of the Snowspeeder, it's about time. If not this is a pass for me.
  12. What a great review! Thanks a lot for this one. I am neither a fan of the LotR sets nor a fan of the money grabbing 3 part Hobbit movies but I have to admit that the tree is great, and would make a great addition to castle or forestmen themes. The wargs are really sweet as well but I would lie if I'd say I like those ugly orcs or strange looking dwarfs. I believe only Elves and Humans appeal to me. 60€ is still way too much for 400 pieces, the price for this is insane.
  13. The same guys saying Disney is gonna ruin it - didn't they say before that GL ruined SW with PT and CW? It has really become a religion, like Apple or your favorite soccer team. I always find that rather strange to be honest. What will change? CW will continue, LSW will continue. The movies will be rather dark, targeting at the older fans. Things might take another direction, which can be good or bad. As with CW, PT, comics or books, I'll do what I always did - take a look and either like or dislike. I never signed to like all the stuff and while I respect the success of eg. CW - I just don't like it. Same might happen to the future trilogy, or not. But it won't change my opinion about E IV and V, 2 of my favorite movies. And regarding LSW and E VII-IX, I do hope they come up with some cooler starship designs now that other guys might be in charge, I found the ones from PT and CW rather bad, and I am still interested in buying cool Lego sets, first of all!
  14. The A-Wing set is not yet there. 6207 was the better set I think. The tip of the ship is off, as the original didn't have such a big gap. I see it's difficult to have this perfected in this scale, but then stick to previous solutions and just don't have a gap. Also the amount of stickers hurt, especially on the canopy. The pilot also doesn't look that good to me. Nothing to write home about, in total. Though - I have to admit that the cockpit interior looks pretty nice, TLC did their homework on those! The Rancor set means a 70€ Rancor to me. The cave nor the figs are anyhow interesting. I'll see if they get my money. The EP II BP (strange square boxes for the BPs, btw.) means getting one regular clone for 16€. I'd better stick to my CW clones, then. Even if they look a little worse. The CW sets are nice, but the AT-RT might be supposed to be in size for the old technic figs. Can't explain this monstrous size. Crawler thingy is sweet, as it looks like from an Anime, not from SW. This is all for CW fans and I guess many like them.
  15. I am impressed. I see where they are going and I don't know if this will be on the same level as Ninjago, since the 4 Ninjas were really easy to identify with for little boys, but still I can see TLC doing their job and trying to do it good. The flying Eagle, that's a set I am really falling in love with. It just looks awesome and has this special something that you want to put it on display. A bit like the Stealth Hunter from EF, just an eye catcher on your shelf. And seriously, the croc boat is one of the sickest things I've ever seen from TLC. Mental and amazing. I hope their marketing is good and I hope the story doesn't disappoint and gives an opportunity to identify with the characters, cause I see potential for several years here!
  16. I very much liked the early of the old Batman sets, mainly the Batcave with the amazing Penguin sub. They early sets had a dark tone, which I prefer much over their remakes from this year. Even if I appreciate the smaller vehicles (yeah I am one of those many here cannot understand) from the current line, everything is too comic-like and colourfull today. Then, the old line went into a strange direction with this HUGE tumbler, which I completely hated for its size. The other vehicles were also not too good. New Penguin sub was boring, Batman buggy was just weird. The new line gives us a new Arkham (best Batman set of all times) and the new tumbler set (which is amazing - just don't like the Bat too much). So in the end it's a tie. Sets I like: 7780 Batboat 7781 Batmobile 7783 Batcave -------- 10937 Arkham 76001 Tumbler (Superman doesn't count for me. Don't like the guy.)
  17. I found Playmates' version much better than TLC's approach: Check also http://www.playmatestoys.com/brands/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles/toys/vehicles for the original design of the Turtle Stealth Bike and Shredders Dragon Chopper.
  18. I am a huge OT fan but I'm with you about this. I would also add that besides the huge improvements in building techniques and colour change, one change doesn't really justify the all-too-often updates of the classic models: the minifigs. They underwent very drastic changes regarding print (only torso front usually to front & back + legs) and faces (going from yellow to flesh to updated pupil-eyes) and regarding the fact that especially in the SW line these do sell the sets, I would be surprised if we see another X-Wing or TIE in 3 years. We have now the ultimate versions in our hands and what can be improved is only very little. RoTJ was featured heavily in the past years and for my personal taste it's a bit too much already. Besides a new Imp Shuttle (the System scale one we have dates back to 2001 in it's design I believe) I have no interest in any set whatsoever from that movie. I'd rather see something from PT or something for the CW fans. SW is not the only line I like and Lego is not the only hobby I have / like to spend money on. I'd b happy if the midi models return, though. And I'm always open to UCS.
  19. There are some sets that have been reissued, even in the SW line. That's why.
  20. This wave doesn't seem to be made for me but I am happy for all the CW fans here and hope you guys get what you need! I hope the A-Wing is a decent set - give me Endor Han and a nice spaceship and I am all fine with this. Still need some older sets anyhow and have much bigger worries than spending money on Lego! Also (yeah, let me rant a little once in a while) I find 13€ for the planet sets and 17€ for a BP with only 2 clones just a little bit too much asked for, so it might be the right time to calm down a little about LSW. One thing that bugs me though - the Acclamator has really a pilot? I always thought those were a bunch of guys dressed like Navy officers.
  21. Oh man, that blue AT-RT looks terrible. Why do they come up with these strange colourful things in the CW series? Also I have to agree with the comments about the snipers, I really wouldn't need more than 2 of those. That BP better has 3 clone troopers, otherwise I probably won't be even buying more than one, as the RRP went up to 17€ for these. Too bad about no film clones, once again.
  22. Not too excited with the list. No interesting minifigs in the planet sets and the rest sounds rather boring. I believe the AT-RT is a CW set, so no new Yoda. And it might be - again - way too big for the minifigs, as the first version. My dream would be an AT-RT in right size, new Yoda, new Camo Clone Scout, 2 x E III troops but this is not gonna happen. The Z-95 is also CW, is a lame ship and not interesting to me. I am a bit shocked though about the Battle Packs, that was where all my hope was in. I don't need a TOR BP, cause the whole sub-series is a bit lame as it cannot be connected to the rest. And the other BP sounds pretty much like a CW BP, which means more strange specialized troops. No OT or PT BPs is really a let down. I thought all the E III sets from the past years given, we should get a decent E III BP sooner or later, but again TLC doesn't want to give us clones from the movies anymore. I hope this is over soon, as I cannot stand this. I need phase II. The A-Wing will be 30€ with 3 old figs and an old unimpressive starfighter. Can't see me right now spending my money here. Only little hope now lies within the exclusives, and that at least these have some movie clones or are movie related. Still I hope for a 50€ E II arena set with the heroes, some droids, Jango and one of the creatures. Keeping on dreaming..
  23. 1) If a new Yoda comes out, he'll probable be only in one set. Yodas hut and LAAT/i in the same year wouldn't fall into TLCs pattern, wouldn't make sense business-wise. 2) The new Yoda fig could sell a small playset without a ship pretty well. Imagine new Yoda, new Dagobah Luke, dirty special R2 and Darth with Luke face (and they will put "new" on the box for all of them, surely) with Yodas hut and a few rock/ swamp catapult thingies? 400 pieces and 50€? Well, at least I can tell you this will sell like cookies..
  24. Every January we got 2 in the past 5 years. 2007: E III 2008: E IV 2009: CW 2010: E V 2011: CW 2012: CW & E VI I would be surprised if we don't get any, but it's difficult to foresee what's in them in 2013. As others mentioned though, the Phase I troopers became a lot more uncommon in the past years, more specialised troops appeared. I would guess Phase II is about to come. Also, I would believe TLC is not releasing any film-based sets with Clones until the CW series is over.
