  1. I disagree with those who would wish for some Stormtrooper packs. We already had them not too long ago and the current one has one Stormie, so there is a possibility to grab one of those figs off ebay or BL for a fair price. Or vice versa, try to get those BPs and sell off whatever part you don't like. I would say, though, that TLC should release more BPs in general. With the CW series bringing new stuff and troops on a regular basis, I would say 2 per year is not satisfying the army builders need at all. If we only had 6 movies, it would be a completely different story. We should get 3 or 4 battle packs a year to satisfy army builders of all OT/PT/CW. @ topic opener = I believe 7929 is pretty good for amassing battle droids. You can sell the Gungans for a decent price on Ebay and voila = have some cheap army building opportunity.
  2. @Zaterdag: If the media you're consuming gives you the impression that muslims complain about everything, you should question your choice of media. Regarding the statement from Lego, despite the spelling errors (proofread before release...?), it's right to do this and professional. There's always someone who complains (the german soldiers in Indiana Jones, the Nuke guy after Fukushima etc.) and it shows balls to regret that someone's feeling were hurt. I can only recommend to everyone else, in your business or private life to act similiar. Don't excuse, but show regret that someone's feelings were hurt, show understanding and everyone can move on. This works best, as not reacting to something like this is actually a statement, if you mean it or not. Regarding weapons, and this is really a different topic, everyone has to accept TLCs decision to make them and produce conflict-based sets. This is free world and if they're going that way, let them. If you don't want this or your kids to have this, then act accordingly. Simple thing. It's Star WARS btw. with millions of fans. It's in our nature to appreciate open conflict.
  3. Regarding the Malibu Mansion, I am afraid we cannot expect too much for €40. Currently 6873 Spiderman/Doc Ock sells for that price, not even 300 pieces. It's probably only a few walls and minifigs. Would love to see a €120 set from the mansion, like Arkham, but it's not supposed to be.
  4. Monster Inc. is probably my favorite and I am psyched to find out there's a sequel! Also the Toy Story movies are not half bad and I am happy to own a few sets. As the Disney sets (in particular Toy Story, Cars, Prince of Persia) are always really well made, it would be awesome to get some Monster sets - but I believe we would know by now, right? Sadly this movie is not covered by sets, but Planes is: 10509, 10510, 10511.
  5. IJ movies are heavily based on the main character, and Mr Ford - as much as I like him - is not getting any younger. I would rather close the curtains and keep my fond memories of the 80s Indy flicks than feel awkward seeing him trying to be a physical actor in an adventure movie still. It would not feel right and it felt already slightly wrong in Skull - which was 5 years ago.
  6. This is probably THE set of 2013 for me. It's what the TIE fighter was last year. Not too cheap, not too expensive. Right size to display and look at in my shelf or on my desk. It's cool, unique, really well designed and captures something that stands for more than simply a starfighter / car. It carries a special feel of the 1980s in it's metatext. It has play features without flick fire galore, but it's also not a 400€ Star Destroyer which main play feature is serving as a dust magnet. It's just plain nice and since his appearance in Curb your Enthusiasm I would love to have a MJF minifig. I wonder how TLC will deal with the illegal building methods the original model obviously has but I am pretty sure they'll find a good solution.
  7. I hate it when the score from ANH is used for CW or PT related things...
  8. You are so right about it being grey, my bad.
  9. What about the new X-WIng being a Dagobah version like 4502? This just popped up in my head, wasn't Yoda's hut discussed as a rumour over some time last year or so? Just an idea, though... And I still have my fingers crossed for a UCS X-Wing.
  10. Thanks for the review! This is actually one of the planet sets I am interested in, together with Bespin and Hoth. All the minifigs are useful and the models are nice. At 10€ they are absolutely overpriced, though. I agree here with you entirely and that's the reason they didn't get my money yet.
  11. Very likely in my book. 100$ is too low to have it in the scale of 7191. And looking at Falcon, SSD, Shuttle from the past years - it makes sense. They all included minifigs and those sell a set. A UCS X-Wing in System scale (like the MF) is a dream come true for me. Finally a real canopy.. Can't await!
  12. 7150/7152 30359a/b 3023 x 9/8 dark grey these are the differences. You may want to check the different manuals where the 1x2 plate goes, I cannot recall just now. 7140/7142 is the same by piece count if I remember correctly, but again the 30359 part is different.
  13. The Atgar and Riekan are great, also it's a nice selection for a Hoth layout. But there are some things I dislike: - Snowspeeder still based on 4500, nothing new - Snowspeeder has wrong marking to be Luke's - Dack is missing, it's too obvious TLC wants me to get the stupid planet set - all torso prints slightly updated, so no perfect match to previous figures - would have been nice to include Han or Leia as there is no way I'll buy the terrible Hoth base set - if I had a dollar for every white speeder bike... - why displaying Luke twice on the official pic? this is more than misleading and very unprofessional My idea for a better set is to skip the better torso prints on Snowies and rebels (keep Luke's), throw out speeder bike, throw in Dack and Han, create a better SS with orange markings. The set's average for me. Still, might get this for 4th May depending on the deal.
  14. Adding to this, it seems as if TLC is avoiding to release any Episode III clones in the past years. We got 5 sets and ONE clone trooper minifig. I strongly believe we'll get one or two E III sets (with troopers) in January 2014. BUt in general, one could say that the different style of the CW minifigs and the whole 1.5 armor story really messed up army building clones in the past 5 years.
  15. I would buy the Juggernaut in a heartbeat. This theme is your answer to my questions: having an action theme that is a little more mature and cool. Not as colourful and simple as TLCs themes but a little darker. In my opinion they should have an action theme that is somewhere between weird Sci-Fi movies and let's say Afro Samurai. Simply weird and strange stuff, creating an immense and cool world of weirdness, not only something colourful.
  16. Thank you for the news! Seems we don't get many clones in the sets and TLC wants us to buy the battle pack. But good news on the other figs, though!
  17. I bet I have seen comics where those beasts were landing, AT-ATs walking out - but I might be wrong. Still, since a normal System-scale playset cannot have space for dropships or TIEs inside, I still think my idea would make a lovely playset, even if not entirely accurate. But let's not care about accuracy, same as TLC when it's about making minifig versions of huge ships. (Remember Venator, Tantive IV or ISD, those were all full of mistakes but whatever - we need cool play features! And I better have an ISD that lands and deploys troops than some desks inside to use the immense play features of burocracy of the Empire or Rebel Alliance....)
  18. My absolute dream set is a new System-scale version of the Imperial Star Destroyer. Couple of studs shorter than the previous 6211 iteration, but with much more detail, features and better interior. The 2009 version 8039 (CW Venator) had 1170 pieces and retailed for 120$. 6211, the only System-scale ISD had 1376 pieces and retailed for 100$. In fact, it was quite bigger than the later CW version. Coming back to our new one, the timing should be right to release a new one pretty soon, as 2 UCS ones and one midi have been made already, and including the minis (or even not) we can sum up to a pretty solid fleet of SDs over the past 10 years. There is some demand in them and TLC seems to follow, so they hopefully deliver. What I would like: - scale inbetween the 2 mentioned above - 1500 parts for roughly 160$ (as this shouldn't have that many new molds and pieces, it might be naive but I hope still fair to assume. Jabbas Palace and Rancor sets don't set the new standard for prices, as these have huge new pieces. Looking at the new MF, I hope we are still on that level.) - can land on flat surface, having ramps and doors on sides to deploy troops. - top opens like 8039 - includes Vader, 2 Officers, black R2, 4 Stormies, 2 Scouts, 2 speeder bikes (I know we all have dozens but it's still neat to include) - interior includes bridge, Vaders chamber, small hangar and troop bay In short, I would like the Empire to get a new, playable destroyer / dropship that you can actually play with. Simply having it in space and not landing is seriously boring, so let the ISD land, please, TLC! Besides the superb TIE fighter last year and the ok AT-AT in 2010, the Empire is not getting much support for System sets lately.
  19. I admit the Obi-Wan looks too dark to be Obi. They would have taken the CW or E3 standin, which are both lighter colour. As someone else said previously, Obi might likely come with the Dooku duel. For the barge, it really looks like Luke, what I wouldn't like to have, as he is already in the Rancor set and the skiff. Boba I don't see being included, it looks like a Weequay (sp?) for me.
  20. There are 2 on the bigger pic only. A few more would be better but therefor we get the "battlepack" now. It's definitely from E II and I'd say it comes with Padme, Obi and Anakin plus 2 troopers. It bugs me that the wing pods are manned, as they were never in any movies or comics, right? For me it's difficult to say if I should replace my slightly modded 7676 with this. The completely closing cargo bay doors on 7676 are just too sweet.
  21. Thanks for the pic - looking forward to the interior. Only fair that the modular street houses now run under Creator, I find that a good move to clean up the scattered "Exclusives" portfolio.
  22. Thanks for the picture! The 2 Lukes are still strange. Snowtroopers have new torso, argh... I hate it when they renew a figure so shortly after the battlepacks. (SS pilot, Hoth Officer, Stormie and now Snowie) 2004 but it's indeed not great. They have few pieces and add the play feature for little kids. The sets are not meant to be entirely accurate. It's annoying though, I agree. Better one more minifig. I believe we all have at least half a dozen of Snow-speederbikes now and they were never in the movies at all.
  23. The new gunship is so so, not many improvements. The wing pods are same old and poorly made, the side pods are not entirely round, the stickered 6x8 wedge has been replaced. All this could have been done a lot better. Back door (bigger) and side doors (windows not tiles but actual gaps) are better, though. Why this one flies in space is another question but this error happens even in some comics. Only the CW version has completely shutting doors and is space-compatible. Well, I gonna buy it anyway, it's the freaking gunship and hopefully comes with new minifigs (can't stand the CW ones). But if I sell my 7676 for it, I couldn't say by what I have seen, right now I tend to a 'no'.
  24. We just don't care about that. This is the typical series that gets only one release and what we get is new Western stuff, new minifigs, probably some great sets. And if this flops, we might even get it for cheap. Cheap parts packs for us. We can't really loose here anymore, it's a win / win for us fans.
  25. Thank you for the list, sounds all very likely, even if the Sail Barge so shortly after the palace is a little strange, as one would assume it will contain Jabba who is such a special figure but then available in 2 different sets at the same time. This is honestly a strange move. Or perhaps the Barge doesn't contain Jabba - but that would be strange as well. As it is between the AT-TE and the LAATi set-number-wise, we can assume it's parts- and price-wise also between these. Probably 100-120€, which is more expensive than the last one (80€ if I remember correctly). I hope it comes with a new bikini Leia and no Skiff and Sarlacc, as these are already available. Those leftover pieces can make a brilliant Barge. And I hope TLC follows the trend to include many new minifigs, the three Episode VI Tatooine sets had only one unique character twice = Luke. So I hope they continue and give us many new minifigs.
