  1. An Episode III BP that blows the miserable E II one from this year out of the water: Clone Trooper, Shock Trooper, Camo Scout Trooper, Marine, small AT-RT. Besides that, if Lego is going E III, they surely concentrate on Kashyyk, as everything else was just available a couple of years ago: Venator, ETA Starfighter, ARC-170, Tri-Fighter, Grevious' Fighter, LAAT/i, Final Duel, Palpatin Shuttle. But even Kashyyk has stuff that's been done not long ago - Juggernaut, Heavy Missile Platform, AT-RT, Tank Droid. This certainly leaves only a few things left..

    New City wheel

Wonder if it looks any good on the Delorean...
  3. Surprising that there's still no rumor of a new X-men set. I was hoping for CC to get some news or minifig images regarding those. It's some time ago that we got the one and only set and I seriously wonder, especially with the new Wolverine movie around, why they are so extremely careful in making another set. What is Lego waiting for?
  4. I was pretty sure the license was only for the Nickelodeon show but I might be wrong. Looking forward for new stuff, especially a Casey Jones minifig!
  5. I hope this is not the only Episode III set, if there are more I'll be so happy. Still, it isn't the most awaited set from E III and there is - once again - a huge lack of minifigs and clones in particular. What is it with TLC and E III clones? 2007 was the last time we got those, as I cannot count the Swamp Speeder, which had only one and was a terrible set with 170 pieces for €40 and no chance for a sale due to being exclusive. Enough of my rant, my hopes are high for more E III sets and the ATAP looks mediocre, not too bad!
  6. Thanks for the great review, Rufus! I kind of like this set, but I am and was never a fan of those tires for sports cars. Too thin and too much profile. Not in the Shanghai Chase, not on Nick Furys car. There should be a better choice for a sports car within all the available Lego tires. Why don't you phone and ask?
  7. He's also my only Avenger missing as I still cannot justify getting the Helicarrier set for 60€ or paying 30€ on Ebay. And I also think he's going to be available in a better set in a couple of years. In the meantime I will create a Bruce Banner minifig. But after seeing the Thing macrofig, boy I'd take one of those anytime over the Hulk!
  8. I hope Disney's influence already begins next year and they are getting rid of those terrible box designs first. Seriously, when I buy an OT vehicle, I don't want to have a Darth Maul or Clone Trooper or whatever on the box. I would give a lot to see an updated return on the comic minifigure logo, can't be that difficult to make that for 6 different episodes + CW. Just take a look at the cool Super Heroes box arts, those are very often individual and represent the actual set line (eg. Arctic Batman, Iron Man, Avengers, X-Men etc.)
  9. This might be my first Technic set after 20 years.. I have to admit that the dark blue really attracts me. It's perhaps my favorite Lego color.
  10. The appearance alone doesn't work for me, to make me want to have a Lego set of the scene. It has to be 'cool' and of course I couldn't put into words what exactly my trigger is. Let me give you examples: The 'Clone Wars' Gunship appearances = YAY - - but the 'The Clone Wars' or Episode II gunship appearances = NAY ANH and ESB Falcon appearances = YAY - - but RotJ Falcon = NAY Delta 7 JSF in Episode II = YAY - - but Delta 7 JSF in CW = NAY So I believe the answer is yes, specific scenes make want to re-play or re-imagine. But it seems more about the vibe and feel a scene gives me, less about the actual ship / model. @Dino - isn't 9494 the set you are looking for? I know there is no stream of lava and no rocks, but the figures and droids, you could create a small 8x8 diorama pretty easily and play "I have the high ground!"
  11. PS4, but not until the first killer title comes out. Probably Uncharted 4 for me, so I might have some time left to spend with my PS3. With GTA coming out, I am also not really in desperate need for new hardware, as it's my favorite game. Actually, I am a PS guy from day one (even if I was late on the PS2 and PS3 due to money and time) and it's sort of a habit. Also the exclusives were more interesting in the past for PS, but I don't believe that's such a big difference anymore for the next gen. (Well, for me it is cause of Uncharted!!) Also I don't want to give up on my gamerscore (or what it's called on PS?) and my score on 360 is simply miserable. Yeah, gamerscore, the poor man's show-off these days. Plus, the new controller for PS4 looks really good, I am not a big fan of MS and and and. Many reasons for PS, none for the Box.
  12. Great review (and the first!) - thanks a lot! I agree with Brickdoctor here, that it's the one PT vehicle, that really shines and has what otherwise OT vehicles are more famous for - and that is character. I do like TLCs approach and re-design on 7676, and it might be coming a little too soon after the CW set, but we all know what the original deal was with Episode II and something called '3D'. The set depicts the movie scene alright, has some nice features, some improvements and some good minifigs. Still, it's nowhere near perfect, there aren't enough clones, the bubble turrets on the wings are still to be manned, all turrets have a terrible back and aren't round, the flick fires are terribly positioned, the nose cargo is terrible, the nose art is missing, it has no air-to-air missiles under the wings (and these were important in the scene). Also, I can get over it that Yoda is not in the set and TLC wants us to buy the other (overpriced) 50€ set to get him, but how on earth is someone supposed to man this ship accordingly? When 7676 came out, 8014 was around which provided 3 normal clones and a gunner - all really useful to man bigger sets. And now we have a 17€ battle pack out that contains ONE clone trooper only? How many commanders does one gunship need? 1 or 2 perhaps. This doesn't work and while those are all nice sets, TLCs minifig shortage, especially when it's about army building, is just too obvious. In the old days it wasn't that obvious as there were not even battle packs or so many different sets. But this thing is really not helping to make the sets look great I would say. Also, while I am not a fan of the CW figs, I have to admit the CW-version of the gunship is just much cooler with it's all closed look. It just seems more robust, practical and also bad-megablocks then the partly open version. But that's just my taste.
  13. Patience, we might see a Slave I at one point. But I know what you mean as I would have loved to see a new Obi-Wan JSF from E2. Perhaps they come around together in a couple of years.
  14. You said you're not willing to pay hundreds of euros. Well, that might be difficult when talking about "collecting". Let me give you a number - 4500€. That's the amount you can spend if you purchase every SW set available in the moment. Buying only 10% of the current sets will set you back 450€, buying them used probably still 300€. And this is in Germany. As I know things are more expensive in the north, you have to ask yourself how much you want to spend, seriously. This is an expensive hobby. And there is a chance you get lost in collecting and lose focus. Just browse through the sets and get some you like. Or if you prefer minifigs only, then have a look at bricklink or ebay to get the ones you really want to have.
  15. A great collectible! Never heard of having a licensed lego box signed and it's a really cool idea! I only have a boring Kojima / Shinkawa autograph and would trade that for a stagecoach in a heartbeat. Or a Malibu Mansion with Downey / Paltrow autograph.
  16. I believe we'll get one already in January 2014. But it doesn't mean you shouldn't think about getting 8038. It's a great set and if you are in any way interested in the other Endor sets - especially the new village - I would say get it to complete the scene. Also I might be wrong, and you don't want to wait another couple years to finally get an AT-ST, do you?
  17. I don't own either, but would go straight for the Hunted House. Every detail feels just right and the set feels special and unique - while the Cinema has some obvious flaws. Here it's already gone, I wanted to hit an order but not anymore without my Maximus minifigure.
  18. Yeah, it's definitely not the final version. Many errors and look at the Falcon on p3 - it's a Limited Edition Alternate Mirror Universe Version - yay! But talking about SW, it's surprising that the Falcon is back (was already missing from the Jan-Jun catalogue) but the X-Wing and TIE are discontinued. They are both killer sets and deserve a longer shelf time I would say. Browsing through a catalogue in the 80s and early 90s was tremendous fun, looking at all the great layouts and pictures. Now it's all packshots pasted together, really boring.
  19. Great job on this one! It's one of the better CW original designs and I would love a re-design from TLC which should include some of your designs, but first and foremost the ingenious wings / landing gear function. That is just plain awesome!
  20. Those Luke & Darth minifigs are amazing - haven't seen those before!
  21. Like 2 x straight flush in the same game I would say. Is anyone else also a little disappointed with the Roman not having the nice silver helmet anymore? I feel a little cheated by TLC, as on the promo and package pics he looks as if he has the same color and finally getting one it looks cheaper in the grey-ish color in person.
  22. Would love to see more NYC cops but I also think it's gonna be a classic British bobby.
  23. You are so right - don't know why I thought it was him.
