I believe so, I ordered several pairs before and they were the complete assemblies. Try and get the 2878c02, the axles and wheels are removable, and will make for much easier modification. So we've all seen the video of the world's fastest Lego train, right? With these bearings, and some ingenuity, we could potentially surpass this. I lack resources and parts, but do you think we could do a volunteer group build, to see if we can build something to beat it? I can help design trucks and cars in LDD.

That's cool, I've had this project of yours in the back of my head the last few months. Do the electronics allow you to use this as a power source in lieu of a battery? You could set up a pretty decent DCC system using a couple of these and some Bricks.
-
With these, do you think someone will try and set a new speed record?

I'd use the 1x2x1 trans clear panel, but the proportions are off. It's about a plate toot all for this build, which would require raising the roof, changing the proportions and design of the car. I have an update: I finally got around to using LDD again, and I think I've come up with a better seat design. It's a plate shorter than the original, and has slightly better proportions, though I'm stuck between three design variations. I like the version on the far right the best, but at the same time I'm not entirely sure. Instead of bricks up they're all SNOT connected, and use a 1x1 technic brick to connect to a jumper plate or stud. It's about a plate shorter than the original design, and doesn't use any hinges or moving parts. This is what the car looks like with the updated seats. Any thoughts? The new seat size means that they aren't obstructing the windows anymore. There should be just enough room to cram a minifig into each seat, though I can't confirm since this ain't in the meat-space.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Lego Dino 500 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Do you think either Brick Bank or Detective's Office are worth it? Whatever it is coming in January, I want something fresh and new, that hasn't been touched on in a long time. I'd love to see a new department store, like the old Gimbles in Philly. Or the Hotel Monte Vista in Flagstaff. How would you guys feel about buildings like this? I love the mid-century architecture, with brick and wrought iron. -
Star Wars Constraction 2016 Discussion
Lego Dino 500 replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
http://cache.lego.co...1&fmt=png-alpha For the other sets, swap the five-digit set number (75119) in the URL for the number of the set you want to see. For the alternate pics, add "_alt1", "_alt2", and so forth (without quote marks) after the five-digit set number. This is generally the easiest way to get the biggest versions of set pics, in some cases even before they're visible on the Lego shop itself. Thanks for the help. -
Man, this thread is the king of necroposts. It might be for the better if we let this thread die and get locked.

This looks amazing, I'd love to see a full range of system-build Bionicle characters like this. Any chance we could see the skeleton under that Turaga?
-
Those look real good Leewan. Any chance of designing an articulated foot piece, and some more armor shells? This has a lot of potential for stop motion, which is cool.

I don't mind having a lot of them. I collect hauls of around 100+ 4x6 plates from my Lego store (Winter Village landscaping, and maybe a functional guitar body), and if it was't for those brick separators, I'd have to use nails and screwdrivers to separate the bricks. Which damages them more.
-
Yeah. I agree with you on that, the problem is nobody will be willing to spend $300 on 3 of these, when they can bricklink one of Sava's locomotives, and a whole slew of different cars. I have a few cars I designed to go with Sava's Pere Marquette 1225, and the files for free if anybody wants to use those.

LEPIN brings out Monster Fighters HAUNTED HOUSE (16007)
Lego Dino 500 replied to ericb's topic in Community
What's the brick quality like on the Star Destroyer and UCS MF? If it's semi decent, I kinda want to orator them for display and build them, this is the only way I could ever afford to get either of those sets. They were too expensive for me to purchase 10 and 4 years ago, and they're sure as heck too expensive now. I remember drooling over the 10179 for months in the Lego magazines as a kid, and never got it. I can't afford the however many thousands it is for a MISB falcon. Anyone know if a clone brand still produces 8998 Toa Mata Nui? -
I agree, I'm under similar circumstances (autism, divorced parents). Keep those trains, and if you can't bear to face or resume handling them, keep them in storage for your son. Things can change very quickly, and on the chance that things turn around for you, he's going to want them eventually, be it now, 2 years from now, or when he's 18 and can choose to be with you again for himself. It's extremely kind of you to donate your builds, and sell your collection, but your son will want them in the future. Being able to pull them out and say "These are the exact same ones that we played with when you were much younger" and being able to pick up right where you left off will be amazing for him, as him seeing you is an inevitability, not a chance. Every child I've known with divorced parents, under worse circumstances, eventually realizes what their mother is doing to them. She can't keep the wool over his eyes forever. If you need any emotional support or legal advice on regaining custody of your son, or dealing with your former spouse, reddit.com/r/mensrights is a solid resource, despite the controversy surrounding the whole MRA thing, and I can personally attest to its community, and how its helped me with issues before. Things will get better, I promise. My heart's out to you and your son, I hope things get better soon enough.

Comparison Rey’s Speeder LEGO 75099 versus LEPIN 05001
Lego Dino 500 replied to perrush's topic in Community
What's the brick quality and parts tolerance like compared to Lego? In Train Tech, we've been discussing a Lepin clone of the Emerald Night, and it seems they sell tons more clones. They even have a 15008 Green Grocer for less than $50, and a Venator class Star Destroyer in the same price range. -

Lego Dino 500 replied to ericb's topic in Community
Huh, now I'm interested. I saw the rest of the Lepin stuff on Aliexpress, and they're selling clones of other sets, including 10179 and 15008... With a bit of kragle to keep this out of my collection, I wouldn't mind being able to have these sets, even if they're clones. Now to see if they have anything Bionicle, I want to start building a army of figures and hopefully start modding stuff for some stop motion animation. Or reference shots at the very least. -
I love the designs on all your models, especially the attention to detail on the windows and body shaping. It's refreshing to see something like this here, we usually get mostly steam, diesel, and modern light rail posted in Train Tech. Have you thought about doing a historically themed layout, or display for some of your trams?
-
Yeah. I saw the images online on /r/lego too, but I didn't want to post them cause I didn't know the rules 100% on leaked images. It's important the mods don't spread leaks, we're pretty gracious to have a relationship with Lego through the ambassador program here. They don't want to jeopardize that.

I feel really disappointed.

Problems/Improvements to Bionicle G2
Lego Dino 500 replied to MakutaDreadscythe's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I wouldn't be surprised if that was a major factor of the decision, it's pretty stupid in hindsight -
This looks great! Mind posting any pictures of the trucks? That's my greatest weakness at sub-scale builds.
-
I would if I could, if I could even find any of the G2 sets. My Target only stocks Creature of Water, Skull Scorpio, Onua Uniter, sometimes Kopaka, and Creature of Jungle. My only hopes of collecting this wave is to win the contest.

[MOC][WIP]Makuta, Lord of Shadows
Lego Dino 500 replied to Lego Dino 500's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I just scrapped the Grievous frame, aside from the legs. I already modified those with G1 titan pistons, to increase articulation without ruining structural integrity, so they should be okay. I completely rebuilt the body and frame, keeping only 6 parts (the bones and 1x3 liftarm w/balls that make the soldiers), basing it off of MoL/LoMN Makuta Teridax's body somewhat. I'm still not sure whether to keep the shield pieces on the chest the way they are, or rotate them back 90 degrees. I still need to work on bulking up the arms and legs though, that's my one weakness I can tell so far. But I don't have a fix for the head though, it's so darn small. And we won't be getting an officially released mask of Ultimate Power, which sucks for this build. -
I just want a dragon one of these days. A big, giant, detailed, articulated dragon.

Thanks for the advice. The reasons his hands are curled in, is because he's making fists. I just finished making his sword (at least first prototype), and it's actually held by his hands. Not just slotted into a peg hole and held with friction. -
I myself am guilty of that unfortunately. Chuckeroo777, great build! It's awesome how you've managed to give him a unique shape, especially on a smaller, more manageable scale like this.
