REFERENCE Dusting Lego displays and layouts
splatman replied to SirNadroj's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Before dusting, take the model (or anything else in the house that needs dusting, that's not nailed down) outside, along with your dusting tools, and dust away! No dust resettling on your things. Keep wind direction in mind. Good old fashioned lung-driven compressed air will probably do the trick. -

Why borrow? Just get out your Space LEGO and build one! Or just buy or build one of these. -
Did you tell the store staff about it?

You sure that name is allowed on EB? That would actually be a use for M39@-B10x, not anything LEGO.

Re-boxed Lego Sets sold as bootlegs...
splatman replied to 88high's topic in General LEGO Discussion
IIRC, TLG has a factory in Mexico, is that right? Is yes, what are the chances of the workers running the machines after hours, producing unofficial runs of product? Which then are delivered to another place to be packaged? Otherwise, someone is literally copying the bricks, LEGO logo and all, and selling them as their own. Maybe starting from old LEGO molds falling into the wrong hands, being salami-sliced right out from under TLG's nose before being concreted. Doesn't TLG track every last one just to prevent this? -
I ran into that the hard way. Whenever I support something that should be priced less than $1, I enter $1, and say in the Why box, how many should be worth a dollar. Everyone that suggests something that would/should be priced less than $1, should ask how much would you pay for a pack of 100, or in your case, a pack of 30 each (90 total).

Not to be Mr. Nitpick, just want to point out something that does not seem to make sense in context: Outdate? I think you mean Predate. According to dictionary.com: outdate (ˌaʊtˈdeɪt) —vb (tr) (of something new) to cause (something else) to become old-fashioned or obsolete predate (priːˈdeɪt) —vb 1.to affix a date to (a document, paper, etc) that is earlier than the actual date 2.to assign a date to (an event, period, etc) that is earlier than the actual or previously assigned date of occurrence 3.to be or occur at an earlier date than; precede in time

One red 2x4 brick that I found about 5 years ago. It says Pat Pend on the bottom. I'm only about 1/3-century old.

A bit off-topic here, considering what others said earlier about sheep v. sheeps: A word with 2 Es in it usually is plural, e.g. teeth. So, that would mean sheep is plural, which would make the singular "shoop". "Is there one shoop or are there many sheep on that farm?" Plural for foot is feet, but the plural for boot is not beet. How 'bout moose? Meese? Yes, this is getting downright silly, but I'll go on, for the lulz. Singular for dice and rice? Why not douse and rouse, just like the singular for mice is mouse? Has anyone groused over the fact that the plural for grouse is not grice After 9? Zeroteen, oneteen, and twoteen. And let's not get started on EngRish.

Considering what Dakar A asked, maybe a new topic is in order. but until an answer is received, questions and suggestions should probably go here. I would like to see a LEGO Store (LS) in Tacoma Mall in Tacoma, WA. Tacoma Mall has a Build-A-Bear Workshop (BABW), which is always busy every time I see it. So, I wonder, is every place that a BABW is doing well, a LS would also do well? They both cater to kids. Though teddies and blocks are very different toys, they're both loved by kids the world over. The only issue I can think of, is there's a TRU next door (sells LEGO sets), so that might be a reason to not open a LS at the T-Mall.

I was thinking of the same thing last night! Just like the Modular Sets (Grand Emporium, etc.), this would consist of several small sets that would be combined to make a mall. Stores would be released 1 or 2 or 3 a year, with the occasional anchor store. Kiosks, too. Original brands would be created by LEGO or Cuusoo members, in addition to licensed brands, like Apple, Sears, and Mc D's. A few sets would be placed side-by-side to make a strip mall. Several sets would be arranged in an enclosed mall configuration, maybe even stacked, to make a multi-level mall. Other mall features, such as fountains, sitting or dining areas, stairs, escalators, and gardens would be sets in their own right.

Interesting, you've used strips of aluminum foil to simulate aluminum-framed windows.

Now, folks, let not beat on it.

I was gonna say the same Or stick then on with double-stick tape or poster putty. Or stick the sample pieces directly to the drawers with poster putty.

Waitaminnit, Januwawy weportz a loss? Put a clothes peg on it and stick it in the waffle iron. Just don't go Cookoo, or Cooosoo, or, nah, just go have some applesauce (or applesizzle) until y'all feelin' alive and awake. I never lolled so hard in ages. It's still AFD in my house, so I'm gonna RickRoll (or RickRizzle) y'all with a sausage link. Don't get RickRolled (or RickRizzled) if you parents ever told you to not play in da mud. Otherwise, step right on in, with a on yer face, sink to your shoulders, and Give it your best Splat! I Double Dare y'all! In the Super Sloppiest Way! This may be off-topic, but that's what AFD is all about: Going foolishly off-topic. Splat! Slop! Ploop! Dollop!

Yep, a Pain In Anterior would be the result if you stood too close to the stove too long.

I've had a few sorting adventures similar to that. The open door on your entertainment center looks like you trying to decide what to watch while you sort.

Yikes! How many minifigs were killed in that train wreck!?
