  1. I'd love a red Evo! However I still think Han's Veilside RX7 is the more iconic car from Tokyo Drift. Luckily there's a quite good rendition of the car by a Chinese brand.
  2. You are overestimating the weight LEGO puts on getting proportions or scale right. The main quality LEGO strives for is readability, and that applies to all of their figs, animals, regardless of their real-life size or the movie example. Scabbers is only one example. The same is true for Cornish pixies that are magnitudes larger in the LEGO rendition than in the movies. Yes, the stud seems to be the minimum scale orientation in that regard. However, characters like Griphook or Dobby, mere half or a third/quarter the size of Harry etc., even in the first two movies, are the size of first and second graders in LEGO, because LEGO wants the figures to be read as "humanoid character", regardless of their actual size (which would be closer to the Cornish pixies in LEGO, which apparently is not too small to be done technically). There are loads of examples like this (I mean take the recent gorillas; they are near the size of a horse lol). To name another example close to what we're discussing is the Fang we recently got. He's characterized as massive dog/gentle giant in the books. In the movies, Fang is hardly the height of the kids' hips, in LEGO he's almost eye to eye with the first graders from the same set. Again, it's because the focus is on the readability as Fang being a massive dog; any other dog mould would not convey that notion to the "reader". They even changed his color to make Fang's face print readable as boarhound/Neapolitan mastiff with all the creases. So why would that not apply to Padfoot/Sirius? He's described as huge dog, so intimidatingly big Harry questions if he's actually seeing the grim. And regarding the movie example: I don't know what movie you saw, but at least the CGI version in PoA is massive: In this scene the shoulder height is like what, 8 inches/20 cm higher than the back of a regular park bench? So what height is he; 90cm, 1m? That's bigger than an average wolf. Also this is what you call "the fact that, large or not, Padfoot isn’t near the size of an actual wolf". Check at around 0:34. That thing is absolutely massive, nowhere near the size of a wolf but larger. Yes, he's smaller than werewolf Lupin, who, again, is rendered a minifigure so he's read as "actually a person". I don't expect the wolf mould to be larger than the Wolfpack fig it comes with, so I don't see your point that it might be larger than werewolf Lupin?!?. The wolf mould would scale quite well from what we can see (ofc it's no final judgement, as we don't actually know). I think the tattered look of Padfoot is also captured quite well, especially around the neck etc. (at least better than the current mould, and I take any improvement over that one). Also, again: I said I would not be surprised if they used the mould, NOT that I would be surprised if they don't. I don't expect LEGO to use the mould or anything, but certainly I wish they would for the given reasons as it would be an improvement in my eyes. Luckily for you, you already got a LEGO Padfoot that fits your idea of him. So what's your problem with people who think it doesn't?
  3. Yeah and Scabbers is more than half the size of a minifig. I think you're focusing too much on the limitations given by the real-life proportions in the movies. Also it only was speculation, as I said.
  4. Sure, it's speculation. But from what we (or I) can see, the mold seems to be more accurate in shape at least. The current dog mould used feels somewhat... flat. Regarding the size: The most recent dog mould we got was the Afghan hound whose shoulder height is one plate higher and whose head is two plates higher than the shepherd dog and the retriever. Padfoot being described as a huge dog, I'd say a slightly larger mould than the current one is proportionate. But as I said, it's speculation, though I'd love to see that. Totally forgot about the rumoured Knight Bus. Makes it more likely imho hahahah. And if not: Acrylic paint ;)
  5. I saw it on instagram, @cmf6169_leaks was the account. But the image had a confidential stamp, so it might have been taken down again already.
  6. The hair is going in a different direction, but you are right, the idea is the same!
  7. It looks more like she's wearing a reversed black baseball cap with some green hair showing on the sides and through the hole on the cap's back. Highly specific piece, but as I have green hair occasionally, I'll certainly be able to use it for my sigfig :D
  8. An image of the upcoming CMF series just leaked. We'll be getting a new adult wolf mould and what seems to be a long-haired cat in white (hard to tell, but the tail seems to be more fluffy than the one of the existing cat mould). I would not be surprised if we see recolors of those new moulds as Padfoot and Crookshanks in the future.
  9. Well, I get why they don't print classic black eyes on black, and in case of Padfoot, that's movie accurate, so I'm fine with that. It's the eyes' position for me. The recent padfoot has the eyes printed on the side of the head almost. Looks cheap. Now that I think about it... The long-haired cat mould you suggested could also be reused for HP as Crookshanks, maybe in Dark Orange or Medium Nougat.
  10. I logged in to write that haha. I think you are right. The cat lover fig would be deliberately designed to be underwhelming if not; I can't imagine LEGO would do that. Also I hope that LEGO reuses the wolf mould for a recolor of Padfoot. I really dislike the one we got in the recent Shrieking Shack; the eyes look just so off...
  11. I would like to bring that question back up: Has anyone a stud.io file of the castle and would be so kind to share it? I would like to mod the castle and plan in advance and a stud.io file of the built castle would be very helpful and highly appreciated! Thanks :)
  12. Really awesome train and great use of the cockpit part! I don't know if you are aware or if it is a coincidence with your choice of depicting the Shinkansen, but the Shinkansen E7/W7 has exactly the color scheme of that train/cockpit, but is white instead of dark blue below the nose.
  13. Dunno why you are talking about 12 blind wheels in case of Scenario B... Aren't there 18 L wheels (4 Loco, 6 Tender, 8 Carriage)? However, in this newly released video by the guy the HE was sent to, you see 8 unflanged wheels at about a minute into the video. So this rules out Scenario A at least, but neither B or C. Earlier in the video you see the XXL/XXXL wheels lying on the carpet. Does seem to be a one-wheel-mold.
  14. While I like the platform's design, it is another example of LEGO saving on parts wherever they can: The doors of the carriage are 40 studs apart, 44 studs from one door's central axis to another... the straight tiles on the platform only cover 42 studs: So the two carriage doors can't be 'serviced' at the same time, as there is a gap created by a rounded tile in front of at least one door at a time. In a 500$/€ set.
  15. Yes, I know. There also was a lime green issue a decade ago with some Bionicle joints. But one could have thought after the public backlash on the Lamborghini, they would have tackled the issue on something as prominent as a train car :/ I just hope the issue is not as prominent on my preorder :D Otherwise customer service will have to replace some parts with my order! Hahaha
  16. Just found this promo video by LEGO on yt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gk-bwT29MLE&t=5s The Passenger Train's Lime seems to be a reason for concern: I spot at least 3 different shades of lime on the train car alone :/ I hope this will not be the case in the final product. Edit: Corrected a typo.
  17. I just found something very interesting in one of the new Harry Potter sets, 76387 Hogwarts Fluffy Encounter. There is this sticker that goes into the roof piece (the sticker in the bottom of the sheet). Notice the symbols on the left paper? At least the top one is not made up, but a historical symbol: The monogram of Charlemagne! The other one strongly reminds me of an imperial orb and may resemble the globus cruciger of the Reichskleinodien, the insignia of the Holy Roman Empire, which is also made up of some of Charlemagne's belongings (the orb is a few hundred years younger though!). Now I'm wondering: May this be a hint to some upcoming castle sets, maybe even historical ones, in the sense of castle-y architecture sets? The Aachen Cathedral or Charlemagne's palace in Aachen come to mind (Aachen is literally plastered with bronze monograms of the above-mentioned kind!). I mean the Carolingian core of the cathedral is one of the oldest existing and intact (!) structures in Germany. Maybe a set in line with the Colosseum? I mean referencing historical figures and symbols in fictional themes is a novum, isn't it? Would definitively buy such a set, as I'm an Aachen-grown kid :D
  18. FYI, there are two German audio-plays released in the 1990's that featured both Dragon Masters/Knights and Black Knights as well as Wolfpack and Royal Knights. As those were official LEGO products in Germany, I consider them canonic. The first one is called "Hokuspokus Zauberstab", which translates into "Hocus-Pocus Magic Wand": https://youtu.be/toawPpmUvDA The second one is called "Der Sohn des Königs" -> "The King's Son": https://youtu.be/It64mOIoYgw In the first audio-play we learn that both Dragon Knights and Black Knights live in a country called Tarenta and that they are loyal to the same king, who, as we learn in the second audio-play, does not live in Tarenta itself, as Tarenta seems to be some kind of a periphery region, plagued by robbers like Wolfpack and that was home to a lot of dragons in the past. Although loyal to the same king, former best friends Sir Francis and Sir Finnigan, leaders of the Dragon Knights and Black Knights respectively, are holding a personal grudge for reasons that are not disclosed. However, it does not seem as if any warfare has taken place between the two factions. The Dragon Knights are also the keepers of the King's treasure. The great wizard Cerlin (= Majisto) and his dragon Dragomil protect the treasure at all costs, hiding it beneath the dragon's den inside the Dragon Knights' castle. In the first audio-play a Black Knights traitor plans to infiltrate the Dragon Knights' castle and steal the treasure with the help of the Wolfpack faction. Doing so is prevented by Sir Francis' daughter Rusty, the wizard's apprentice Five and the Wolfpack leader's foundling son Dickens. In the end Dragomil convicts the traitor by using the magic wand and Sir Francis and Sir Finnigan make up their controversy. In the second audio-play an old and dying Royal Knights traitor confesses to King Richard that the once abducted infant Prince Henry might still be alive in Tarenta. The king leaves his homeland for Tarenta with a small fellowship but soon is abducted by some of his companion Royal Knights claiming the vacant throne. Two of the Royal Knights traitors however care more about the treasure than the throne and sneak their way into the Dragon Knights' castle. Again Dragomil and Cerlin save the day. With the help of an old Black Knights librarian, Sir Francis' daughter Rusty, the wizard's apprentice Five and the Wolfpack leader's foundling son Dickens find the ruins the king is held hostage in and save him with the help of Dragomil. King Richard discovers he and Dickens share the same specific mole on their hands and he concludes that Dickens is his long lost son Henry. We don't learn if they return to their homeland, but as the "kingnappers" are defeated, it seems probable. So all in all we learn that almost none of the factions are "monolithic". We have Dickens preventing his adoptive father's coup, we have both Black Knights and Royal Knights traitors and so forth. Unlike later Pirates, Western and Adventurers audio-plays, we hardly have any hints at actual sets though. For example the dragon's den and the Dragon Knights' castle (6076-1 and 6082-1) do not seem to depict two parts of a single castle. For comparison: In the Adventurers audio-play, the sets' play-features are part of the story, like the exploding Sphinx, cascading rocks, rotating doors etc. So while the Adventurers audio-play is set in actual sets, the Castle audio-plays are not, at least not exclusively. OT: If you understand a little German, go hear those audio-plays, they are fantastic! There are 2 Castle, 2 Pirates, 2 Western, 2 Adventurers, 2 City, 3 Time-Cruisers audio-plays... Yes, that's it i think ;) BTW the Adventurers audio-plays also confirm that Joe Freeman and his companions are NOT the same characters as Johnny Thunder and his friends :)
  19. Hey fellows, before I add my two cents to the canon theory, let me say this: The information collected in this thread is truly a gem for every fan of the Space theme, thanks for that! I am surprised that in three years of this thread's existence, no one came up with the concept of spacetime and consequently time dilation. Both "simple" time dilation and gravitational time dilation could be explanatory to the inconstistencies remaining in TalonCard's timeline. For example it was said multiple times that the evolution of the classic space themes' technology (e.g. spacecraft) seems to be rather slow, given the fact that the themes cover the time ranging from AD 2079 to AD 4036+. We have to remind ourselves that this is indeed the time passing on earth, but not necessarily the time passing in space, that is the time our spacetravellers experience passing. For an example I will refer to "the spacetravellers" as a whole, since of course they would be scattered through space and therefore experience time individually. Let's start on earth in 2079. After several Mars missions the Classic Space astronauts are the first to leave to a distant destination, consequently their ships travel with, compared to the speed of light, significant speed. As a result of this the Classic Space astronauts experience time passing slower, depending on acceleration and travelled distance. While on earth hundreds of years pass, the spacemen may age only little. So speaking of "generations" is actually reasonable; while in earth years ca. 1500 years pass between Blacktron and Blacktron Future Generation, BFG members may indeed be actual sons and daughters of Blacktron members. Of course, even if in the perception of a BFG member no more than 50 years passed since leaving earth, they'll likely measure their time in earth years - simply to have a standard time - so the dates in the timeline still make sense, even if we take this theory into consideration. This scenario does also explain the Classic Space factions' isolation from any further earthlings except those developing from their very own colony, that is Zonia. This theory also allows to reasonably integrate Clutch Powers and Ninjago into the given timeline. Let's assume Ninjago (if it even is an own planet, I have no clue on this theme) is in the immediate "stellar neighborhood" of our very own sun system or earth; the time passes similar enough to that on earth to say it is synchronous and time dilations ocurring on travels between the two are rather insignificant. Clutch Powers may in fact be on Ninjago ( A ) in the 2100s (earth years), later travel into deep space ( B ) and finally accompany SPIII officers in 4k-somethings ( C ). In his perception, no more than 30 years may have passed between event A and event C. Ninjago now may take place anytime after the 2100s, maybe around 2400s in earth years, since it's said that the earth still looks similar to its 21st century appearance but also that Clutch Powers' adventures on Ninjago are far in its past. Ninjago's technology would fit into that time range perfectly I guess. If Universe indeed is contemporary with Ninjago, this theory can be applied for Universe, too. Though I think that Universe is off any other of the space themes; I hypothesize the maelstrom causes wormholes to connect different themes and times - nothing is said about Crux' position (both in space and time) in the Space theme's universe. Even the rhetoric ("Imagination Nexus") makes me think that Universe rather is an illustration of a child's creativity (cp. made up universe in The Lego Movie). I strongly disagree with including it into a Space canon. I know that this theory is almost ridiculously complex given the fact that we try to canonize a toy's story (indeed!). Though I have to point out that nothing of what I explained is fiction. Actual space travel will one day be determined by this effects; civilizations like our very own will propably decompose due to the fact of asynchronous cultural progresses, biological evolution etc. It is nicely portrayed in the recent blockbuster "Interstellar". Time dilation is caused by gravity there; could also be a factor here, since some of you mentioned black holes appearing in the stories and comics. Now it's up to you: Do you think the theory explains enough to let it coexist with your previous theories? In my opinion it's a nice addition or option at least; it explains a lot that has not been explained yet.
  20. Actually one might extract the model meshes from the computer games and 3d print it oneself, or customize it and mold it professionally like the guys from Brickforge/Brickwarriors do.
  21. Swingin' in Smaug style :D You are indeed right, but I stated it was a personal opinion :) I think the eagle is not essential enough to be included only because it saves the day at the end of the battle + we already got the opportunity to get an eagle in 2 sets. And since BOTFA is no army builder, an orginal Beorn wouldn't bother anyone since noone to few will get that set twice. The way the set now is, I'll bricklink Thorin, Dain and Azog, and that's it.
  22. Oh man, I'm so disappointed I registered to throw in my opinion. Do you guys realize that the eagles were not even one of the five armies? The five armies were humans, elves and dwarves on the good side and orcs and WARGS on the bad side. Now we got plenty of wargs already, but the slot for the eagle would have been filled so much better with old mold bear + new print as Beorn. Armoured Thorin and Dain are quite well executed I guess, and the reuse of Azog is understandable. But Legolas, the orcs, the eagle? Rubbish! At least one of the orcs seems to have a new face print, but no generic soldiers for elves and dwarves??? I don't get it. Laketown... pah, except for Tauriel the set isn't interesting. SDCC Bard should have been in here, along with Bolg instead of 2 generic orcs. And Bain's hair? No Go! Deskp did a great comparison with Luke Skywalker's hair, that would fit so much better. The only set I'll definitively get is Witch King Battle (the title is ironic, isn't it?). 3 exclusive minifigures for like 15$/15€, that's quite a nice deal, considering that one could easily use Elrond's armour for an army builder purpose. I like the fact that Galadriel's hair is pearl gold like the elven sword, although the mold does not represent her actual hair. Deskp did a nice comparison on that one, too. Arwen's hair mold or a completely new one would have been so much better. But I guess that is, considering the rest of the wave, a detail least worth bothering about. TLG, I hope you knock it off with some nice polybags, CMF Series or whatever. If that is how the theme is ending... poor!
