LEGO Star Wars 9492 Tie Fighter - Chewy's 1st Review!
Smitty500 replied to Chewybricks's topic in LEGO Star Wars
First off, I feel weird reviewing a review. Pretty good review, with some humorous comments relating back to Chewbacca, making it entertaining. This a good start to Video Reviews, though I just have some opinions I'd like to share. While I had no trouble seeing the figures and model in the close ups, I as a viewer would be more visually pleased to see the models and figures on a clean smooth surface, this show cases the model better, looking a little more professional. I think you should be sitting behind the set, not to the side. I would suggest maybe using a table or something (Similar to The Brick Shows format). Everyone has different preferences on how their "show" is produced. But, Personally, I would use white over black as a black drop, unless that's how you like it to be set up, I know getting lighting everything perfect can be very tricky. And maybe that's just your way of being different than other Youtube channels who do reviews. Other than that, I think you have a great name for your Channel and theme, it's goofy and has it's moments to be entertaining. I am not sure how your other videos will turn out, but I hope you plan on reviewing NEW sets. -
[LEGO Ideas] Movie Accurate Arena Beasts (minifigure scale)
Smitty500 replied to LegoAcklay's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This all looks great! I would though Like to see a spectator area, with a gate for them to come out of. If LEGO were to ever produce this I don't think the Beasts will be so bricky, they'd probably use bulky pieces like they did for the Dewback in the mos Eisely set. But with all that, It would probably come to a $100 set. I think it would be cool if they had separate sets for each creature for minimal prices, and then you can combine them all together to make an arena. I loved when they would do that, like for the past two Jabbas Palace sets.- 20 replies

[MOC] Lambda Class Shuttle... in 10188 Death Star Style
Smitty500 replied to Tereglith's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Very nice build! and great idea, I was just thinking of small scale ships that would serve the same purpose. I am not fond with how the figures have to be layed down, but given the circumstances it's the only option. All of those figures looked so cramped in that hanger too! -
This looks a lot better, breaks up the white. How well will it hold itself up in landing mode?

Great mods, I have been meaning to do this to mine, but have way too many projects in front/going on it would be foolish of me to start another.

Anyone else a little disappointed with 75050?
Smitty500 replied to SWAT Strachan's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Looks a lot better. I had the second version LEGO released, and I was not very impressed, it was too bubbly around the wing and S-Foils, only thing they got right was the shape. LEGO had outdone it with their newest incarnation clearly, but still have many visual flaws in it I can't stand. You have fixed many of these issues and have made vast improvements. I love the guns on the S-foils, great idea using a spool. and the front of the main wing is darn near perfect. The only issue I find with it is the slopes that surround the engine area(below the cockpit and below the S-Foils) it's the area the you bulked up. like mine, Here: Besides that, this ship looks Great! -

The Force Unleashed II, Starkiller´s plans
Smitty500 replied to trooper 278's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Very good. Stop motion gets pretty tricky. I haven't played the game and know little about the story line of Force Unleashed series, Is this based on the game or something you made up? -
Thanks a lot. The resolution is fine, I am just using a vector program and tracing over it. I'll work on this soon! ...and soon enough came.. I am not sure if I got the back tattoo right, might need a bit tweeking, but it will suffice me for now. What do you think?

[MOC] UT-AT - Unstable Terrain Artillery Transport
Smitty500 replied to Mangetsu's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is the best UT-AT out there! I am positive. Other people have tried, but you have got all the angles and edges spot on, I have yet to see someone else do that. Everything I would have done to make this Tank, you have done and more! The detail on this is great, especially that repulsorlift/feet, I find that to be the most piece consuming aspect. I like the interior detail, especially the command post area. Is there anyway you can show more pictures of the interior? or taken apart more? -
Hey I really like your shuttle, it's very simple and similar to LEGO's previous two shuttles they released years and years ago, looks smaller actually. I love the idea of the pull out try, I think the old one had something similar, but you integrated Palpatine's throne into it. I like the new cockpit much better, because it has sharper edges than using the giant wedges. just looks better overall. The only thing I would try is to fit another Imperial guard in with Palpatine, if possible. Might have to make the tray longer, and they could sit in front of another. If not, It still looks great for a small representation of the ship.

Hangar 327 Escape (Collectors Edition) - EPISODE IV
Smitty500 replied to AlejandroAng's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Awesome job at replicating Spacepilot3000's MOC! Might make you feel better as a builder to make your own original MOC, especially if you're making money off of it. It's pretty much plagiarizing the Bible and publishing as your own work. Chastising aside... I think it is great what you have built. BUT, If you would have scaled the hanger down to fit the system scale model, and integrated the LED's into the hanger instead of just tackily sticking them on the outside for everyone to see, it would have been much better. Then it would be a really nice model, especially if your selling it to someone for $3,000. Plus, you would have something to be proud of that you made all by yourself. -
Thank you! I couldn't find any references of her back, and quite honestly forgot about it. I will when some more pictures are released. I am starting to make more decals, mainly of the Clone Wars line figures like Ashoka, Aayla, ect, to replace the ugly cartoony look with the standard LEGO look. I will post more when I get more of a collection.

This looks great! I will have to try this for myself.

Thanks for the feed back. I had forgotten to clarify and feel terrible about it. But the picture below is of legos official mini fig that I had used as a referance and for comparison. I have not printed it yet, but plan on using clear water slide decal to apply to the figure. I am not sure when I will get it printed because I wanted to have multitude of things to print as to not waste decal paper.
-
I have been messing around illustrator and decided I wanted to make some decals for future use. This is my first attempt. I have always hated, hated, Hated! the 2008 Assaj Ventress that LEGO had produced, the ugliest Mini-fig in the Clone Wars line. (Though I can't blame LEGO for designing a mini-fig based off an already ugly cartoon design) Anyways.. With the upcoming release of the 'Azure Angel', I think LEGO had finally made a good Ventress. Even though the set looks spectacular and captures the essence of the 2003 cartoon, I am not planning on buying it. So I decided to try my skills at recreating the design for a decal and make the figure on my own. Let me know what you guys think, and feel free to use it if you have the need. Decal Official lego Ventress (this is NOT mine)

Great mash-up! I would have personally chosen to use more interesting ships to "Tron". Maybe like the SSD, at-at or x-wing? I don't know.. But i understand why you chose the sail barge because it's your favorite. and you did a great job of M-Tronning it.

Simple but effective! I have always wanted to do something like this, just hate for them to get dusty. What was your previous display solution?
-
it worked for me. pretty good, is this story cannon?
-
Does this help? I also forgot to add that I had kept the trap door, just moved the release pin.
-
Glad I could inspire! The hair piece I used, in my opinion mimics Harrison Ford's hair the best, it's got a part in the middle, but it also looks messy like a "scoundrel."

Sweet! Just like mine. v

Your Welcome! I totally didn't realize that you had red trans plates under the tile, I put that together from memory instead of referring back to what you had
