What I though of instantly after for some reason: The only question is who would be suing...Am I the only one who is getting a strange combination of Zulu* and Maori from the build, with a hint of something else? *The shield is shaped just like Zulu shields in the Boer wars.

Got it. I always thought that they were robots wearing masks as extra shielding. Think of them as wielding hoods. You could call them helmets, but they're really shaped like more of a mask.

Looks like it will act like a visor, then. Not a bad thing. That is beautiful...That's the sort of building we need more of.

Voted(and deserved by far!) best game of 2002. It spawned the sequel SW:TOR:tSL*, and one of the best paid/f2p MMORPGs out there, SW:TOR**. *Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Sith Lords **Star Wars: The Old Republic*** ***It should be noted that The Sith Lords happens before SW:TOR, and is not an offshoot of that game, although it is referenced multiple times. TOR(The Old Republic) is a catch-all term for that era, approximately 3,000 - 2,000 years before TPM. Although, technically, the Old Republic can refer to any point of that 3,000 year span... No idea why, but I chuckled at this. Is it a quote from somewhere?

Don't worry - the Mass Speculation Generator will give you enough Angry Rant Fuel to go into time hyperspace. And we were saying that the announcement would be a dull day...It almost makes you think that LEGO has had experience in marketing...

Aye, an' tharrt be a true shame, it does. Not tharrt t' new line be deserving of a whole day, but t' timing be strange. -
And a prequel, by definition, is not a continuation.

Not unless McDonalds runs a new Matoran offer. -
Please tell me that they're not going to try to pull a Star Wrek 2009 on us and have the Toa change the future by mistake or something...a reboot would be better than that... :brick: But if it's just a prequel, that matches up surprisingly well. By definition, it's not a continuation, since it's before the main story, and since it's near the beginning of the story, technology seems more like magic. Huh. Bionicle, you just made your storyline deep again. KotOR is one of the most mesmerizing Star Wars stories of all time, and we already know that the Sith aren't going to rule the galaxy. Prequels can be awesome, they just need an awesome writing staff.

We should start a thread specifically dedicated to sharing the legends/trying to decipher the alternate builds... Either way, thanks for sharing this!

No particular feelings one way or the other. He was a good writer, but the incredible back-story of the franchise was created before him. (six Toa heal a dead robot in medicine pill canisters) Great though if this is true - but it's 4chan so I'm afraid it may be their classic trolling unless Greg himself is confirming this...

And, let's not forget that as it's a media promo, they can tend to hype it up a bit. "Four elemental ninjas use the incredible powers of Spinjitsu to create the unstoppable Tornado of Creation!" Sort of true, but not entirely. I wouldn't dismiss continuation instantly just because there's a slight difference in descriptions. Link?

Actually, it does. Imagine your room. Now, imagine that you can reshape the contents in anyway your want. Completely reinvent everything. Now, go out and do that to the rest of the world. Yeah. That's pretty a powerful mask.

I'm fine with the magic, if it's a continuation, but they shouldn't flaunt it too much. What they have right now sounds more like Imagination than it does like magic. Which is rather interesting: "One persistent myth is that Artakha wears a mask designed by the Great Beings, a Kanohi Mask of Creation. While it does not actually bring things into being, it helps the wearer to envision how they should look and how they should be designed..." Imagine if it's a reboot, but tied into LU. Not going to happen, but they are defyingly similar.

I still say that those tiles looked like CS... Now, to continue the debate of the merits of reboot(unnecessary, gets rid of huge portions of canon that fans remember and will purchase for) over continuation(so many Macguffins and plot to uphold.). -
Impressive. They write a fascinating back-story...that tells us absolutely nothing and which both sides can claim for being either a continuation or a reboot. Except that apparently the Great Beings were also First Builders.

Ultimate Collector's Series. It's used officially for the really detailed Star Wars sets, but it's been reused by fans to refer generically to sets that are very large and expensive.

Actually, I think it'd be kind of nice, for nostalgia's sake, if the site was kind of simple. I wonder if it's too much to hope for a simple Flash click and point. Atlantis did get an entire mini-not-exactly-a-game-not-exactly-a-movie, and the Diary of Professor Rhodes*. *Which has proved invaluable in terms of calculating dates. Interestingly, Professor Samantha Rhodes must have been a pretty good student - she was around 18 when she went diving in 2010 with a doctorate(Or at least enough of a degree to justify professor!).

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Lind Whisperer replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It was changed around 1985. Up until then, it was mostly a male color. I don't have a problem with the new armor shade, I have a problem with the character herself. Mandalorians as a whole, not as a main part, but as a whole, are fanatical about strength. Mandalorian women and men don't worry about art or body image, they worry about if they are too weak or not, and how to overcome that. Which, when you think it over, is actually a pretty great thing to teach kids - the way you look isn't as important as how you act. I get that she's supposed to be independent, etc., etc., but couldn't that have been done even better by keeping her to traditional Mandalorian mores? We're supposed to teach kids that graffiti is a beautiful act of expression? We could have had a normal girl/woman, who's not strong by how she looks, but in that all she cares about is becoming stronger in her actions. And that would have been awesome. Instead...we get Pretty Space Guardian 'Dalorian Pro-Anti-Strong-Female Boon. Sound it out for a moment. (I admit that the pro-anti... was a bit strong, but boon was the best rhyming word I had...I should probably have worked on it a bit more, but I'm in a rush...) -
Someone should start a thread based around the two Ninjago games, listing and picturing all characters/devices that don't appear in the TV show... Also, pictures of the rendered pictures of the builds in-game would be wonderful. The only one out there is of the mine build...

I liked 2009. The sets were colorful, and the buildings/ships looked nice and the techniques used were actually clever on occasion, and at their very least, on par with 1991-7 Pirates. I consider the line as a whole equal to 2008 Castle. Of course, I do have a lot of LU nostalgia that perhaps influences that a bit. I still remember seeing those first 6 IGN videos, way back from early beta/absolute end of alpha...Gnarled Forest was gorgeous, and the poor video quality made it look even more enchanting(that sounds impossible, but it isn't.). Man, those were fun days...

It looks great, but I'm fairly sure the space between the Technic holders, behind the pegs, needs bolstering to meet LEGO standards. Either way, good job!

It's funny, but I don't think that the TV show lasted long enough for a second wave...the toys may even have been around longer than the show.

Sorry, not trying to cause an issue, I was just trying to make a joke. Agreed. "We build heroes" is possibly one of the most flawed concepts ever released as a toy slogan. Now, if it was "We build sentient robots that choose of their own digital free will to be heroes*," no issue. But when you tell kids that heroes are just another thing off an assembly line...that's just wrong, no matter which way you look at it. *I get that that's too long for advertising.
