Heroica RPG- Quest #103: Alfendi Lupine Strikes Again!
Lind Whisperer replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Just as a side note, if we end up killing Alfendi, Lind is going to search him for Alfendi Lupine's Blank Calling Cards - (RPing item, Shows that the bearing hero helped kill Alfendi Lupine*.) *The idea being, that Lupine's never left a blank calling card behind - they've always had a message as to what he's going to steal. Ergo, the only way you could get a blank card...you get the idea.- 500 replies

Well, you seemed pretty interested in acquiring it. I was just suggesting a possible way that I'd see fit to trading. True - but that's the whole idea of long term playing. Use today's tools in a manner that builds for tomorrow's higher levels. Got it. Is there any way of adding SP to something that didn't come with it originally?

I'm still vulnerable to Free Hits. Just out of curiosity, since we're on the topic, if Guts hadn't been able to auto-revive, would that mean I couldn't have taken a Phoenix Essence off of him in case the party needed a revive?- 500 replies

You know, I might talk about trading the Medal for a Zoot's Plaything...
-
Okay, note to self - stick to Zepher quests from the moment we finish 103#. That's the sort of thing that a Munchkin should be collecting. I've already got an Anniversary Medal, imbue that with a few Effects and we've got a pretty good build for when Lind hits 50. Someday we really should have a way to increase armor of body/headware. We have Bright Polish for Shields, and Grating Stones for weapons... Of course, then again, do you need to already have some armor on something to increase it... "Looks studiedly at Mugger's Mask."

Heroica RPG- Quest #103: Alfendi Lupine Strikes Again!

Ignore my stats change, Lind is waiting until the end of the battle to change them. The last thing we need is to have a bunch of specials rolled and for us all to be K'Od one way or another*. Lind does nothing.- 500 replies

Not certain, it was before my time, but I'm guessing it's another trinket lost away from the world to the depths of Nu Mercution. Man, that place has all the best drops...

I hereby coin a new slang term for Heroica: going tourist ~ When a player ignores stated battle order/the party's general well-being in favor of trying to get a rare Decamon card. (I was imagining people running around the Fields taking pictures like they were tourists on a safari.)
-
Interesting...Did not catch the 100 part. Of course, I should have guessed that there was a limit... I meant, which element would trump? If there was an Dark Flying Eagle, Dark would obviously trump Flying, as per the rules, and that would be the card, but what if it was an Aquatic Icy Ness? Neither Aquatic nor Icy has any effect on each other*. *Of course, Icy trumps Electric, which trumps Aquatic, so maybe that isn't the best example...
-
What would happen if the monster's name combined two different elements? Like a Holy Fire Ghost Monk?
-
But think of the possibilities. No longer would a person with a Decamodifier have to worry about being the last person standing(with the assumption that the monster is down to quarter health/that he can be taken down solo to quarter health). One battle turn, and he is gone. And since Allies automatically revive after battle, you don't need to worry about Phoenix Essences...
-
Say we fight a Greater Vulcan Dragon(name I completely made up.) That would presumably translate to a Fire Dragon(with the assumption of course that Fire Dragon is a viable Decamon card), right? So, if the monster isn't applicable, I'm guessing that it doesn't do anything, you just waste a battle turn?
-
Also, we really need a compiling of all known Decamon cards, whether it's in the Rules and FAQ or on the wiki.
-
It looks lovely.

"Claps long and loudly!" Awesome...Must get one... Everyone in 103#, let's check back on 103# as often as possible. We probably won't finish before a new group starts clearing the Fields, but we only have about two fights left...maybe if we all hurry as fast as possible, including Kintobar...

"I'm just going to stand over here for no reason..." Lind does not switch out the medals. I've changed my stats accordingly. Edit: Ignore- 500 replies

"You know, you should really do something about those teeth - they don't look healthy. Now, if I could interest you in this radical idea I have, where you take a bit of bone, and stick brush bristles in it*..." Lind does nothing in the front row. *The actual way that the very first tooth brush was made, in a British prison cell! I checked Scuba's page - the last time he was on was back around the 8th...- 500 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Lind Whisperer replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's with the assumption that everyone on Eurobricks is an adult, which they aren't. There are quite a few TFOLs that openly admit their age, quite a few who are "in the closet" as it were, in regards to their being TFOLs, and there are several users who may or may not be KFOLs, to "varying" terms of obviousness. Either way, though, if you're a TFOL, and you want to join an adult forum, you should do your best to act with the same level of dignity as if you were an AFOL. Back on the subject, though, sometimes conversations will split off the main road. It wouldn't make sense to create a new topic for every single little strand, and so long as we keep going more or less in the main direction, and we can easily go back to the main discussion if we want to, there really isn't anything to be concerned about. -
Classic Space Rovers and a little more!
Lind Whisperer replied to Commander Beltar's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
The grey is surprisingly easy to imagine that having happened, for some reason. Can't believe I forgot to check the Archive. Thanks! -
I guess Lind will hand it back to Hoke after the quest then. I've already explained why I don't want to trade it.

Modulex bricks are coming back!
Lind Whisperer replied to jodawill's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I am thrilled for this on two reasons. 1. Modulex bricks are classic, and you should have a small handful of them if for no reason other than to show your minifigs playing with them. 2. Before this, LEGO has always kept their licenses very close, even if not in current use(Like with Modulex). This release shows that they are willing to be flexible, which gives a tiny, tiny ray of hope that someday LU may be picked up again by another studio*. Granted, Modulex was sort of a separate company, but the point still stands. *Before you counter that it was a failure, it was only a failure by LEGO standards(e.g., extremely high return on all investments.). MMOGs have a vastly different set of standards, and LU was actually a huge success. And that's in terms of paying customers, not in terms of players. If LEGO had understood the financial needs of an MMOG a little bit better, and had better allocated investments(e.g., not paid huge sums out for a moderating system that didn't really work out in any of the areas it tried to reach), we would still be playing it today. Heck, a few more Ninjago updates, and we'd have reached LEGO standards, with the success of that line. -
British Rail - Class 43 Intercity 125 - 8 wide
Lind Whisperer replied to garethjellis's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Didn't notice that about the sliding doors. Some people just like making their models functional, even if the functions probably won't be used. -
British Rail - Class 43 Intercity 125 - 8 wide
Lind Whisperer replied to garethjellis's topic in LEGO Train Tech
It looks lovely! For some reason, it reminds me of playing Microsoft Train Simulator. Well done! My only wonder is if you couldn't modify it so that the interior doors could open? I know they're only two studs wide, but I don't see any reason you couldn't, in theory, use a modified version of the door concept I used on my T.A.R.D.I.S., which was also two studs wide. (Although, I have to admit it's not the most visually appealing thing you could imagine - I prefer functionality over looks.) -
But if I trade the Medal, then I won't have it when I hit 50 someday. The chances of my being the one to win this year were very small at best. Not to mention, the chances of my winning it next year are even smaller. Granted, there are the same chances of winning any particular item every year(Unless there is some modifier I was not aware of?), but next year, the player base will have continued to grow, as well as the number of secondary characters. Granted, there is always the possibility of buying another Medal off a lucky winner, but most long-term players won't want to sell theirs, and even if they sell it, the gold cost will obviously be beyond enormous. So, much as I want to level grind, it's in my best interest to not sell it. I still say we should do a long term temporary swap. Even with a Medal of Glory, it'll be a very long time before I can even think of reaching 50. And you could spend that whole time using the benefits of the Anniversary Medal. It might not be an "Everybody permanently wins," but we'd both get a whole lot more good things out of such a deal rather than both of us getting nothing*. *Mentally replace "nothing" with "Benefits that don't match up as well as they would the other way around." "Nothing" sounded better grammatically.
