  1. To be honest, I kind of think that his story is perfect as it is. He made a heroic sacrifice, that was a heroic sacrifice, e.g., didn't get instantly negated by a plot twist, and the character really made an impact on me. I was just getting into Bionicle when I read that, and even though I didn't know too much about him, I was really impressed by what he did. I think that if he were to re-appear, it would kind of lessen that aura of heroism. Revan is about the only character that can continually seemingly die and then come back to life again without it being annoying. I don't think it'd really work with Matoro.
  2. They'll probably have one, but only for non-PC platforms, because every consumer owns one of those. (I'm still rather mad at them after the Wild West Emmet. It was available for PC pre-orders...in every country besides the U.S. And before you tell me that most people do have one or more platforms, the reason why I don't is because they switch them out too often for my budget. I'd rather spend $400 every few years on LEGO than on a machine that I'm "supposed" to swap out in another few years for another even more expensive machine.)
  3. Nope, never had a character like her before. And you're right, Star Wars is really lacking in lovable, unique, memorable characters that .When you think it over, you wonder why they haven't put any kid-appeal characters in already - there's absolutely no reason why that wouldn't work!
  4. The formula for pretty much every A/TFOL who wants to build a SHIP(there are a few exceptions, but assuming you have other expensese in life): How big you want it to be +How many details +How many cool ideas you see others using at the last minute and you want to include them +How you have to completely rebuild it after it turns out that a two stud connection doesn't hold up ten pounds x How expensive the parts are at the moment /How much you realize your wallet can't afford your building a SHIP right at the moment.
  5. We need more C R Y O S H E L L music, period.
  6. Lind does what Flipz's said, and in addition makes at least one joke during the fight(the question and answer are separated by round). "How many orcs does it take to change a torch?" "Five. One to hold the torch, one to hold the Hel-fire, one to bring the bucket to put out the other two who are now on fire, one to get the wizard when it turns out that water doesn't work on Hel-fire, and one who's "trying hard to be clever" to get a cleric to bless the water."* *And that is why you do not try writing comedy when you're tired...
  7. I wasn't around back then, so I can't say, but I think some people just feel the need to look down on other people, and will jump at any excuse no matter how poor. On the good side of things, these sorts of people don't tend to do more than just occasionally connect with the hobby(at least on Eurobricks). My personal stance is that we all have different likes and dislikes, and we should use them to "build upon," and to find new ways of doing/looking at things. But I do admit that I don't agree when people say that we should just calmly accept when a franchise decides to make a violent/unwanted change. If we're the ones paying for it, and it's not a single person doing all of the work(I make an exception for single authors), then we as a fandom have a right to express our feelings about how the franchise is being handled.
  8. Almost certainly. But the similarities are surprising... True. But, it is a mask, and it only has room for five unless it covers the head entirely/really messes up the design. It's probably not the plot-line, but it does make you think...Although if it does turn out to be the plot/near enough to the plot to be almost the plot, my sentence-under-my-profile-pic is so getting changed to "Called the Bionicle 2015 plotline...in 2014."
  9. No...No...it couldn't be...NO... Look at the horns/spikes on Bfahome's picture. Then look at this. This theme wouldn't happen to be revolving around reviving a giant spirit, would it? And the mask wouldn't happen to be shaped like the giant spirit's head? Because we know they've never done anything like that before... And in one swift moment of lucidity, I have either just figured out the entire "secret" plot-line for Bionicle, or found the most ridiculously identical coincidence. No, definitely no giant robot hiding behind there with their head sticking out. Nope. Right?
  10. Give it time. Or money.
  11. "Yes, I agree with Master Chevalier. I suggest that we go up to the foyer, and from there go and start cleaning the house out with the spare bedroom." If Flipz posts proposed actions, automatically assume that Lind goes along with them, even if I don't instantly confirm.
  12. And they'll misspell Jogan fruit as "Yogan" fruit in the set description. Yeah, I know it's just one mistake, but seriously, first they cut out all the canon, and then they don't even research the name of the CGI fruit they're reusing the model of?
  13. The horns on top of it... The five are in the same position as those five pillars from the Glatorian media. Like these, but the picture I'm thinking of only had five:
  14. Will do. Although any progress with be a long time and large member pool down the road. I can model in Blender, but I'm not even really qualified at beginner level in Unity. Not to mention music, animations, coding... Great! And yes, the topic has been made.
  15. Disclaimer: This is not an official Eurobricks community build, this is a group build done by the Eurobricks community on Flickr. Which is totally different. BIOctober is a group build from October 1st to October 31st, started in celebration of the return of Bionicle. We are still deciding the theme and rules for 2014, please follow the link to join in the discussion! BIOctober Group BIOctober 2014 Theme Discussion
  16. As soon as we get more than myself in the pool, I will gladly cede all credit.
  17. LEGO cheerfully gave us an ambiguous description of the year(s?) Maskguffin, the mysterious and apparently magical Mask of Life Creation. In other news, we've been trying to figure out how the gearboxes are going to function and I'm trying to stir up interest in both BIOctober and in the idea of creating an online (3D, not 2D) MMOG.
  18. I just realized that Protodermis translates roughly to "First skin."
  19. I'm talking full 3D, here, not 2D. Although we could definitely enable cel shading.
  20. I wonder if you could load it somehow in Blender...With the right plugin, you can import .ldr files.
  21. Has anyone ever tried making a group project for a fan-made Bionicle MMOG? That level of graphics isn't a very hard level to match with today's freeware, and you probably wouldn't have the LEGO lawyers to worry about as much as you would for a LU remake... Heck, I could probably make a pretty good Po-Koro, textures and all. Anyone else like the idea?
  22. I'm in, whichever gender works.
  23. It's going to be kind of hard to plan BIOctober now that we've had the big reveal and we still don't know what it's about... Link to the BIOctober group.
  24. Must...resist urge to remake Toa names...Too...Too...many parodying possibilities...a whole universe...Too...Much...Power...
  25. I was talking about what popped into my head after seeing this, not after the video... Tribull by Brickthing, on Flickr
