Heroica RPG- Quest #103: Alfendi Lupine Strikes Again!
Lind Whisperer replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Right, then." Lind equips the Anniversary Medal. "I don't suppose anyone would mind if I put on the Mugger's Mask? I've taken a bit of a fancy to it. And I should think someone should look into using those Fur Leggings - if Lupine has brought a few of his friends with him they might prove useful." OOC: Will the Fur Leggings divert Free Throws given by lycanthopes as well as beasts?- 500 replies

My profile picture is what LDraw can look like when a background is edited in(although I am planning to swap it out for real bricks when I get the chance). If you want to take LDraw a step further in lighting, you can use a Blender import plugin, light the scene, switch to "Render" and take a screenshot/render the picture. It's a lot quicker than POVRay, and you can get some beautiful lighting with practice.

I'm assuming that starter decks will consist of randomized card selections? And are players are allowed to trade/sell cards with each other outside of combat?
-
In Heroica, there's Always An Older City.
-
True, but either way, the first party to enter the Fields has the best chance to make a good opportunity out of the Decamonizer.
-
It's probably going to go like this: Party 1 is accepted into the Fields, comprised either of a single player-formed party, or of hand-picked members selected by QMs from applicants. Party 2 waits. Party 1 leaves the Fields with a Decamonizer. The QMs reset opponents while Party 2 still waits. Party 1 either signs up for a quest together, or splits apart to go on their own quests(The second would probably be best on a personal basis). Party 2 enters the fields. Party 1 finishes their quest(s) while Party 2 leaves the fields. Party 1 either waits in the hall, or starts a new quest. Party 2 starts their quest. Party 1 either finishes their quest or continues waiting in the hall. Party 2 finishes this quest. There are now up to twelve people with Decamon cards, not counting the couple of people already owning them. Advantage: Party 1.

Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
Lind Whisperer replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
Not sure how that's a bad thing. But seriously, WBD, great job on the class! And well-picked parts for the figures, too, they match the idea perfectly! -

Could we just agree that we trade medals after the battle like Sandy said? Give it a few more hours and we could have already leveled up at least once in the time period we've spent on this, assuming regular battle rolls... (Sorry for the non-Rules related post.)
-
Sorry about that. Thanks for the confirmation - I just wanted it confirmed, since it seemed a little bit fuzzy to me. I was probably reading into it too much, and then the more I debated it, the more uncertain it seemed...
-
Try offering them something on a commission basis - the better they do, the better you'll pay them. Also, as to the size of the commission, make them an intentionally low offer and let them argue you up to a higher one. I'm obviously completely wrecking the mood, but I can't help wondering what kind of stats you get from a parasite, assuming that it only takes up the neck slot...or would it spill over into back-wear as well?
-
Is it still alright if I form my own group?
-
Uh, not to be rude, but...you do realize that Heckz is at 23 2/4 while you're at 43.4, right? Granted, it's not exactly half, but 54.14746543778802 is pretty close... If Heckz is interested in letting me join his group, then I'd like to, else-wise, then I guess I'll have to form my own.

"If you can think of it, it already has been thought of" applies. I guess Jay Baruchel would have to double act as both Arthur and Lind - he's about as close to a real life version of Lind as you can get, at least facially. When it comes to mannerisms, though, he's a lot closer to Nathan Fillion, in that sort of "intentionally acting roguish, but actually being about as Light Side as is possible," way. An older Lind would probably look like a moderately shaved Hugh Jackson*(just without the Adamantium skeleton). *Think "Real Steel".

That's an interesting idea...I wonder what actors would fit what PCs and NPCs best.
-
It'd be funnier if it actually reflected brick trends, rather than someone just going around and selecting whatever bricks looked expensive. That must have been a pretty good childhood, even if you lost it - seeing as how that part is clearly listed as being a prototype. Also, Boba Fett's legs are expensive...if they are from Cloud City, and not all of the other, far more common versions. And the average reader sees this, and thinks to themselves "Gosh, I wonder how much that ridiculously common and cheap set I have from when I was a kid was worth! I bet I could sell it to those suckers for serious $$$!" Which leads to people thinking that their stuff is worth far more than it is and throwing the market into even more disarray. Sure, there's a small chance that you might have something valuable(a couple choice sets from my own collection fit the bill), but those sets were almost certainly already expensive to begin with. On a more personal note, the last thing we need is even more Bricklink links thrown casually around. There are incredible deals there, if you know where to look, and elitist as this may sound, FOLs need those deals more than other people. If little Johnny doesn't care whether he has a 1979 Galaxy Explorer, or a 2013 Galactic Titan, then get him the Titan, and save the Explorer for people who value it for being an Explorer*. *I'm including KFOLs in there as well. The point is, if you don't care what you're playing with, than take the more modern(and often more fun, at least for you) option, and let the people who specifically want the older option have the older option. I should probably step back, and take a break from my computer. I can feel myself getting a bit too "Angry-Internet-Commentor-ish." EDIT: In the case that it was not clear, I meant that I would rather a KFOL who can appreciate it receive the Galaxy Explorer, rather than "little Johnny". KFOLs are FOLs. I was not saying that a KFOL should take the more modern option if they prefer the older one.

I do know that, but the spirit of it seems to be leaning more towards "participation" rather than "in the general vicinity." Also, from a grammatical standpoint, "After a victorious battle" seems to be modifying "all heroes still standing will gain experience." "Still standing" seems to be referring more to participants, rather than to onlookers, since standing is really easy when you're not doing anything*/**. Of course, I am listed in the battle order, but the argument could be made that since I'm not actually doing anything, I'm not really in the battle until I make an action... (Yes, I realize that I'm arguing against myself, but it's an interesting rule point.) *Unless you get tired and need to sit down. **Also Free Hits are a concern that'd argue more for just being listed in the battle order. Either way, I was just wondering Sandy's opinion on it. So, to sum it all up, does being listed in a Battle Order, and being alive at the end of a Battle automatically grant you XP, or do you have to make at least one attack?
-
I thought the rules state specifically that you have to participate&finish a battle to get XP.

If I'm doing an action in battle, like changing medals, does it technically count towards XP, since it's an action? Or does participation in a battle solely rest upon actions relating to combat?

Heroica RPG- Quest #103: Alfendi Lupine Strikes Again!
Lind Whisperer replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Not trying to cause issues here, but I thought we already agreed that we were going to wait until the battle was over before Lind changed medals... But, if Flipz changes it, then Lind changes medals, otherwise Lind still does nothing and the round is rolled like Flipz said.- 500 replies

In that case, in anticipation of a large portion of the party possibly being K'Od, could Lind have looted Gut's corpse* for a Phoenix Essence in case he was the last member standing and needed to revive everyone? (Assuming that Flipz, who is playing Guts for Scubacarrot, had given permission) *Kintobar had forgotten that Guts had an Emergency Essence, which revived him so the worry ended up being mostly moot. Unless we get some really bad rolls... I don't think shields count towards artifact totals, at least not with knights, but you have to be a class that can equip a shield in the first place. Your first chance to equip a shield will be if you decide to train as a Paladin.

Did Ellaria dye her hair then, or did they not have the part in that color?
