Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
Lind Whisperer replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
I'm almost certain that the SHIELD is too powerful. Raising everyone to full health + removing all effects + a strong attack + gold stealing - that's a lot for a single round. I love the name Know When To Run, but even a single enemy can have some extremely good drops. Maybe change that to a1/2 / 1/3 chance of stealing? Either way, I'd definitely think about training this if it were released. Perhaps this could be a level 60 class? I know we already have on player at 50+, and we'll probably have several more within the year. Maybe it's time to think beyond the Master Classes? This(in my humble opinion), is rather strong, even for a Master Class, but it's nearly perfect for a level 60+ class*. *I suggest that the 60's classes be named the Opportunist Classes, the 70's being the Guardian Classes, the 80's being the Luminary Classes, the 90's being the Patron Classes, and the 100's being the Hero Classes**. **Which will work just fine until players pass 100. -
Not to start a fight, but this is LEGO, not PLAYMOBIL or DUPLO. They're supposed to be "blocky". Sure, they look more "real-to-life," but that's the problem. This is LEGO, not real life. They may be closer to real life shapes, but the curves clash with normal LEGO shapes, which are, by nature, "blocky".

Heroica RPG - Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory
Lind Whisperer replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
The rogue surveyed the field. "Master Mystic, if you would target the Barghest please, Master Knight, the first Battering Ram, thank you, Master Mage, the third Battering Ram if you would be so kind. I'm going to use the Chaotic Whip on the first Black Sheep, while Master Ranger, if you could kindly take on the first Silent Lamb, and Master Druid, if you could please take care of the second Battering Ram, that would be most excellent." Lind attacks Black Sheep A with the Chaotic Whip. Battle Order: Purpearl Berthadhiell: Thorny Rose vs. Barghest, Front Row Kiray Nastayo: Sanctified Rito Longsword vs. Battering Ram A, Front Row Siercon (Siercon and Coral): Giant Spear vs. Battering Ram C, Front Row Lind Whisperer: Chaotic Whip vs. Black Sheep A, Back Row Actaeon Artus: Sanctified Rito Bow vs. Silent Lamb A, Back Row Matthias: Restored Fireball Extraordinaire vs Battering Ram B, Back Row -
From Almaak to Zotax: all the planets in the LEGO galaxies...

Here's how I got to forty years - although I realized that my line of thinking has one tiny major flaw. Sensei Wu and Garmadon are both mentioned as having played with Misako when they were all children. At some point, Garmadon and Misako married, and had Lloyd. Making the assumption that humans and minifigs have slightly similar biology, the latest Misako could have had Lloyd would have been when she was about 40. At the time of the series, Lloyd is about ten, which, with this line of reasoning, would make Wu, Garmadon, and Misako all about fifty, which, although conjecture, does match up with their appearance and abilities. I'm not quite sure why, as I look back, but I believe at one point I had successfully reasoned why the Constrictai Blade had to have been found within Wu's lifetime, giving me the forty year span(or fifty). Of course, without the reason, all that conjecture is kind of useless. Toxikita and Invisible both cameo in several episodes of the new season as competition in the Elemental Tournament(I'd have to rewatch them to tell you exactly where and when). They are both referenced as being masters of elements, which at first seems like it would cancel out their characters(as Toxikita was created by Anti-Matter's portals), until you take a closer listen to the video. The only one who is identified as being a descended of a elemental master is Invisible, whereas Toxikita's history is never defined. Anti-Matter's portals work by reversing a person's positive traits and essentially turning them into a negative version of themselves. Now, exactly what types of person are extremely seen, and presumably not greedy(since his costume literally is covered with dollar bills)? Not too many that I can name off hand. But, if Invisible was a free-lancer who Anti-Matter hired, who got his powers not through a portal, but through his ancestry, it makes perfect sense. Toxikita is a bit of a problem, I grant you, since her history is more or less clearly defined, but after reviewing the other tournament entrants, the only requirement is basically to "have power over an element" - there isn't any real rule why someone who uses technology to have power couldn't enter, and in fact, at least one person there appears to have to be using a tool to unlock their power(the Master of Sound/Love/whatever element a guy with a banjo has power over). The first figure is almost certainly the Squidman character. The second is a bit more tricky. Most people identify it as being either Kranxx or one of the Skull Twins, but if you look at it carefully, it doesn't seem to quite resemble either of them. Okay, I should probably have spent more time carefully watching it frame by frame six years ago. I've always looked at the shot where Mallock was using his wand. When they're entering the room, Kranxx's head and face tentacles are quite discernible. There goes my personal opinion that someone at LEGO should sneak a reference in as to Anti-Matter as having been the third villain. Pity - he really fits the profile of "ultimate evil in the galaxy" better than Space Biker Guy. Ah, well, maybe someday they can CGI him into the Anniversary Edition. * I've mentioned my fondness for using the movie as a timeline elsewhere here, and typically gotten a response of "It's a failed a one-off movie," etc., etc. I was just trying to be polite and "quiet" by putting it in spoiler tags, not because it needed spoiler tags. * -
Heroica RPG - Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory

Ooc: All right, but I'm probably going to need to write the battle order so that if Purpearl takes damage and drops below 10 health while she's fighting the direwolf/ves, you'll purposely heal her instead of attacking. -

"Actually, just one moment..." The rogue briefly ducks behind a conveniently-situated bush, and re-emerges a moment later wearing the Tunic of the Elven Acrobat "There we are. Shall we move out?" -

"I agree." Ooc: Unless any of the other heroes have an objection, Lind gives the Deadly Venom and the 3 Venoms to Purpearl, the Fire Bomb to Actaeon, and the Peasant's Hood to Kiray. "Well, shall we head to the Sheep Meadow, with the War challenge?" -
I was originally intending for it to just ignores the single player clause, but after thinking about Flipz's comment, and my argument why it would be useful to help boost players' builds, I think having it allow you to wear headgear as well is a great idea. Interesting - I didn't know that was already a job trait. I can see how that could be nerfed by something like this, but what about when there's an artifact that could significantly strengthen a player's build, and their build wouldn't work for an Artisan nor would the artifact itself be very boosting to an Artisan? Now I'm imagining some sort of heavenly judge god character giving away a version of this that ignores Soulbound...

While reading the latest bits of #105, I was struck with an idea for a new artifact. I don't have a place for it in my quest, and I'm not sure if it's too potentially powerful/breaks too many rules or not, but I thought I'd share it for discussion/in case anyone did have a place for it. Peruke of Impartiality - (Enables wearer to wear any artifacts, ignoring single-player suitabilities, artifact; headgear)

There have been snippets here and there, but nothing really mapped out. Classic Space might be happening in 2076, according to the printed pieces...or it might not have. There was a rumor that Mars Mission takes place in 2044, but I'm pretty sure that was based on an unsubstantiated Wikipedia rumor. -

"Excellent work, everyone. Excellent." Master Druid, would you please burn an ether and heal our Master Mystic? A potion wouldn't quite do the work, and we need our Crusader at full health." The rogue looked over the rest of the party. "Does anyone have any preferences as to which loot they'd like? If it helps, I don't need to take a share. My plan is more centered around the end of this quest anyway..." "Also, Master Mystic - would you mind lending me your Tunic of the Elven Acrobat?" Ooc: Thanks for the Auto-rolling! -
Has all of the Ziegfrieds' extended family been given names? My planned trilogy/first quest was being set into motion by one of their children + their tutor.

Ooc: I know, but you didn't say anything about who you were targeting. Lind was facing the enemy, so he didn't see where you were aiming. -

Looks nice! I especially like the black and yellow warning symbols - nice touch! Have you thought about making the compartment detachable? The ship flies down, drops the container onto the battlefield, and flies away, etc. -

The rogue looked over the field, quickly strategizing. "Master Mystic, if you would target the Rat King please, Master Knight, the first Big Rat, thank you, Master Mage, the second Big Rat if you would be so kind. As I'm immune to Fire, I'll take on the Battle Ant, while Master Ranger, if you could kindly take on the Itsy-Bitsy Spider, and Master Druid, if you could please help the Zombie Peasant back hence he came, that would be most excellent." Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
Lind Whisperer replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
This only says it is not going to be based on the TV series, not they don't exist in the same universe. Take KoTOR, and any one of the video games based on the two trilogies. KoTOR isn't based on the movies, like the other game, but it fully exists in the same universe - it's just not "based" on a movie. I don't think we'll see an entire line, though. I wouldn't be surprised if we get the Ronin minifig released as a polybag, or possibly even a single set, but I don't expect a whole line.- 4,591 replies

None taken at all. I couldn't agree any more with everything you just said. I'm not planning on using a Medal of Glory until after I've gone Dragoon. In fact, if it wasn't for my long-term plan, and certain requirements/details of it, Lind would most likely have signed up for either Kintobar's sheep quest or Zepher's present quest. But, like I said - details of my plan. (I'd comment more, but I prefer not to "tip my hand," as it were. )

They should try and get a copy of In Motibus Pylos... Hmm. I'm fairly happy with where he's at, but I'll keep this all in mind...

I imagine Lind as being about as tall as I am...so, somewhere just below six feet. I can how the name would be confusing. I was trying to make a reference to the playing style. But...yes, it is kind of confusing.

"Of a certainty, Master Mage. Please, share with us your thoughts/strategies." Ooc: As far as I know, we can only have one challenge active at a time. -
But, in a way, isn't having your character be a bit of a Mary Sue part of the fun? There should of course be a limit to how much that happens, but this is a fantasy world. It's a place where we can be heroes, and "do" things that we couldn't do in real life, be people we couldn't be in real life. On a completely different note, I'm starting to think I should add a bit in my signature about how Munchkins are humans. I'm pretty sure this is the third time a character's referred to Lind as being short - which only makes sense if humans in this world are commonly taller than six feet. But then again, like I said, this is a slightly idealistic fantasy world. Almost everyone probably is taller than six feet.

Ooc: He's the same height as every other human. Munchkin is his "sub-nationality" name, not his species name. Like how someone from New York City could be called a New Yorker.
