Great build. I was watching a walk through and the guy doing the walk through did a double take when he saw your tower . I am impressed that it fits on one Baseplate and it it modular and a great looking building too boot.

You have taken modular building to its highest level. (pun intended). What was a great build got even better now you have fleshed out key interior details.

A layout no. A circle yes. This will take 70cm x 70 cm and you will need overhang for the train to run without obstruction.

Well this is definitely the first time i have seen a Moc of this type of establishment. Well done with the interior. I love some of the little quirky details. The cat lady outfit. The whip next to the bed. The guy hiding out the back just in case theres trouble.

Cool a walking dead MOC . Perfect

i just had a play around with this, i found that it would probably be fine for uprights but you still have the issue of the amount up supports needed if you are using plate, this works out needing a lot of bricks and plate. I started out going the all lego route but it was working out very expensive compared to the wooden structure and it was difficult to cover the train curves when running track next to each other as you have to allow overhang for the trains as well. It was basically a grid with baseplates sitting on top. I needed a beam every 16 studs or so to take the weight. The wood i used was all scrap i had around the house except the 6mm mdf. Wood has allowed more scope for multi level terrain and to span larger areas. It depends how much of a purist you want to be and how large your budget is. I have convinced myself that it not an issue as it really is just a multi level table instead of a flat table.

I really love the colour scheme. The layout of the rooms and the addition of an elevator.Great Mod.

I love the black building with the asian influence. The different colours and architecture the side edges and brick and flat finishes put me off on the building next to it though. Nothing wrong with borrowing with pride. Nice Job.

I have run 6mm mdf under my buildings and put 4 16x16 dark bluish gray plates on top of the baseplates so my side walk is all dark bley instead of seeing the baseplate. If you want to add more slope then add more bricks /plates between as cimddwc has done. He is a great builder and following his example will lead to the best results if you are after the not so flat look. I got around to taking some images https://flic.kr/s/aHskvCQhHn if you are interested.

I agree, use wood for elevation,i started using bricks but it worked out too dear and hard to cover the distance required to cover over curved train tracks I also am opting for brick built roads and they are slightly more expensive but you don't have to go as wide as a standard baseplate, this keeps the cost down. But it gives heaps of flexibility in width and length as modulars have sidewalk on the anyway. I have used arches and and a lot of two by two bricks to cover some up the upright space in areas and and BURPS and LURPS finished off with extra bricks and slopes to get rid of the repetitivness for other areas. This has been a recent change so i have ordered another 40 BURPS at the moment but will require a further 60 to 100 to finish off i think, but will have to be aquired at a steady pace. You can also build bridges between the raised areas and am planning a waterfall for another gap.

Ditch the wings and add a meth lab and i would vote for it breaking bad style.

Yes another great Moc. Love the pigeon coop. Shame about the interiors as you usually come through with great interiors, but i get it as i know these are great for photos etc but rarely seen in a layout. I too am wondering if all this is leading somewhere.

Nice roads,i have opted for brick built as i think they offer more flexibility and when weighing up the cost it is not so bad vs plates IMO You need to leave an Easter Egg in the side wall under the floor under the bridge like a skeleton or something, that would be cool. Any plans to put a top half design to the bridge?

Really nice build. I especially like your roulette table build.

I was in Tokyo a couple days ago so i swung by the Roppongi Hills click brick lego store. Fairly standard selection but at $40 aud a large cup was way above good value,Popular elements like 2x2 lbg tile were nearly empty though.

Looks great. Get the pipes in chrome and it would be next level.

I have used an M motor.

Collect them all. I came back a year ago and have caught up now, wether it ends well or not depends on what you can afford. If you are not a purist and love the buildings released, sub the colours for cheaper colours , or dearer parts for similar but cheaper. There is some great threads here including "bricklinking modular buildings" which will give you some great tips in how to go about sourcing the older ones and how to save doing so. To answer the original question they are not widely available other than from lego stores. Every now and then, mainly during major sales periods the latest 3 or so will be available in other stores. If you are a purist and you can afford it then you can buy all the sets no longer available at lego on Bricklink but some are now near 2k for a set.

My girls would love the princess train. Any chance of some more pics of it on Flickr so i can borrow with pride the ideas.

Sorry these do not appeal to me at all too blocky and really dislike black for the windows instead of clear.

All i can remember is that it was in the 70's had blue track and a yellow engine that was from another set that i still have, that does not work. Got back into lego about a year ago or so because of the memories of these sets and seeing the new sets, playing with them takes me back and i can't wait until my son is old enough to enjoy what i have now.(he is six months old)
