  1. Another great build. The reason you are one of my favourite builders is your originality and clever use of bricks ,this is no exception. The tyres on the chains where boats would moor is the detail i like the most. This reminds me of a cafe i went to in Phang Nga Bay
  2. Thank you for the info. Just what i was after.
  3. I am in the happy camp as i don't have the set yet. I had even set up a brick link wanted list for it. I can see why those are dissapointed but hey look at it as an opportunity to get creative and come up with your own build.
  4. Very nice build Mod. What did you end up using for the white roof pieces ? If no the original pieces did you have a template for cutting them or was it easy enough to work out?
  5. I am pretty sure you can not use the new ski element as a sub as it does not have the hole. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative. Go with a different colour than white. This is not one of the things i subbed when doing mine as i thought it a key element to the way the whole modular works. There is a whole thread devoted to this called Bricklinking Green Grocer and Cafe corner and this is covered in the thread as well as pictures of alternative builds in other colours.
  6. I loved this idea. I really liked the tram but not the rest of the set and was wondering how i would fit in my layout as i have no room on my roads to add trams in. I have picked up the motor, battery box and monorail bogey plus 8 curves since i have seen this. Going to Bricklink the tram parts as i don't want the rest of the set, plus take the leap on some straights when i get those parts in and figuring what i need exactly as its too expensive just to guess and have extra parts. There is only 17 motors left on brick link so trying to decide if i need to pick up a spare before they are ridiculous if 60 bucks isn't already.
  7. Bricks and plates on their side with tiles to hide the end studs.
  8. Nearly finished cafe corner. Don't you hate it when you think you are getting to the end of the build and for some reason you have missed a part that you have marked off as having. For me Reddish brown headlight bricks . Now i have to wait for one more order to complete. I have to say thanks to people in this thread for the suggested subs like the light grey jumper instead of the turntable etc. But it has been a really enjoyable build other than that. I love the work with the skis.
  9. A lot easier would say. I am going to do fire brigade and looked down the parts list and did not see too many worrying things yet.
  10. Nice Moc. Unfortunately title is wrong. Surf is definitely not up.
  11. You can part the set in brick link Goto Wanted tab Part out a set enter set number 10195 (if that is the one you are after) enter a name for your wanted list tick set my min desired qty for each item to qty of items in inventory submit it for edit verify and upload list
  12. In Australia Myer will have it locally in two weeks. About 6 months after release. I am going to buy 3 . Two for the building and 1 for parts. They will have free extended lay-by as well so its a good time to buy.
  13. I could not see the rest of the list as the lady covered it up but i know the ferris wheel is a no go,at least my local store. I would assume they will have the usual 20% off as well from the 10th.
  14. I really hope the plans show up for sale. I for one would brick link the parts to build.
  15. Myer toy sale Starts June 10th. Detectives office will be $179 . Start saving your Bikkies..Pardon the pun.
  16. Completed acquiring the cafe corner bits except the door ,which i will decide on after building. Lost track of the cost as i have been acquiring the bits to the green grocer at the same time. Thank god i have all the green bricks now as i think the worst of it price wise is behind me. I seriously contemplated doing it in blue but could not do it. just got to wait for the bits to roll in now.
  17. I just thought the overall design of the building and interior were well done. I thought it was the closest thing i have seen on ideas to an actual official modular in terms of size ,playability and appeal to a wider audience.
  18. I find the friends buildings make great 16 wide bases to a modular style building.
  19. I really hope the museum makes it. I would buy it,maybe thats why they have finished up a lot of the available modulars to make room for freshening up the range and bringing new buildings to market sooner.
  20. Not that lucky. I think that they will cost me about 130 euro by the end of it but i thought better to get now before they get more expensive. I thought about the blue as an option but in the end decided on the green. I probably won't acquire the rest of the bits until later in the year but have got all the sand green bricks pretty much which seems to be the expensive bit.
  21. I have started acquiring my modified sand green groove bricks. They are getting ridiculous in price. The fact bricks for Chris has over 3000 at a price is forcing the price up to that level. 8 more to go thank god then everything else is reasonable pretty much.
  22. I like most of this except you can see the studs where you have the panel on its side for the window. Now you have a new name.... I want to see the pub with the bert and cookie in it. I want to see a doctors practice with Esme coming to visit to pass around some gossip. and i want to see sergeant Gilroy's roses.
  23. I am a little envious, but have just completed Bricklinking the emerald night (exc the windows which i swapped out for standard tan as i want to build 5 carriages). I am with you and am not into Moccing trains and enjoy building the original sets (i do like mocking buildings and landscapes though). I have half the parts for the maersk but don't want the truck so i have excluding those parts. Once again i think i will build 5 carriages or so. Train shed i once considered but feel its a little small so will most likely build a moc that is influenced by its style while skipping the expensive bits. The problem is we want everything now and when you are buying buildings as well it adds up quickly. I get the feeling you were not showing off but wanted a place to share your passion with like minded people. Enjoy
  24. As usual a great looking facade, you are the master of the use of friendly colours in a traditional building. The only thing i don't like is the hole in the upright next to the door. ( could it be capped with a white 98138 ). My daughters would love a set of buildings like this as they are all about the pink and the purple.
  25. I think what is ethical is selling a once off complete model with "printed" instructions and not supplying the parts list etc. The value of these plans is is just not the plan but in the parts list making it possible to source the parts. This is as a one off. If you are going to do it for profit and sell multiple copies then i think it is reasonable to request permission from the original designer as they would be entitled to a royalty. People can sell second hand goods at there own pleasure without going back to the supplier. You can not profit from selling multiple built copies (on eBay or such) without paying them a percentage and Krystel or someone like her (in Australia) would be within thier rights to claim compensation if it did happen without permission or payment.
