  1. Love the fort! It has a very old school Lego feel. And great use of that baseplate. And it's modular! Well done all around.
  2. Thanks to everyone for the comments! This was a fun little build that basically came together in a weekend. I had to tear apart another build to have the white pieces for it, and that roof is becoming well travelled as I tweak it from build to build. The build really came together when I figured out how to do the round windows. The large round window uses two new rounded window top pieces, one balancing on the other. The bottom half of the wall is an upside down arch, and I use tiles so it fits securely. The small round window uses the same arch technique, but is filled by a 2x2 trans-blue round brick. Thanks! I was happy with how the rafters turned out. They really aren't needed to support the roof, but the interior needed the detail. I wanted to make sure it fit with Nova Terreli's architecture, so I'm glad you approve! My initial plan was to build it on a small hill and have the stone path circle around to the side as it descended, but I just didn't have the pieces to make it look good, so I kept it flat instead. As for church background, it would have been a regular full-service church in its early days, with services for the Royal Church of Eslandola (or whatever Eslandolans worship other than doubloons!), but it no longer holds regular services, the congregation having built/moved to a larger building. Now the chapel is non-denominational and can be rented for use by anyone. Weddings and other small private ceremonies are most common. My main inspirations were old Spanish missions I have visited in the Southwest U.S. The statues by the entrance were a must, and one of the first parts I designed. I'm not sure who's getting married, but that groom barely looks old enough to shave! I imagine he just signed up with a trade company and they've hurried to marry before he ships off. Regarding where the pieces come from, I love using that pirate torso as Eslandolan formal attire, and the bride is the Lion Princess from the castle line from a few years ago. Thanks again to everyone for the comments. Glad to know the interior details were appreciated!
  3. Nice little grocer! I like the clothesline and the fish, and also the awning in front.
  4. Sorry to hear you're taking a break. I hope it's not too long and we see you back on the Brick Seas sooner rather than later!
  5. Good jail scene with nice details! I like how you did the barred window.
  6. Great office vig! The dark red walls look very ... rich.
  7. Thanks for this peek behind the curtain and a closer look at some of the details. I really appreciate seeing the process!
  8. Incredible job here! I'm amazed at what can be done digitally (that water!). And I always seem to struggle with beaches, so I'm intrigued with what appears to be a simple and elegant solution to get the gentle slope. I'd tip my hat to you if one of those crabs hadn't stolen it!
  9. Weelond has sent the MCTC 40db toward Elostirion's builder's share.
  10. Good ship and background story. I love the image you've used with the low perspective from ahead of the bow.
  11. Congrats Ska! I didn't realize you weren't already on the pirate staff!
  12. Beautiful ship, and a great story! I particularly like the detail of lowering the Oleander flag.
  13. A duel on the beach of Port Raleigh.
  14. Looking through the various settlement threads, I have two questions: 1. Why is there no settlement thread for Port Raleigh (the Corrington settlement on Berelli)? 2. Is there a map for the island of Ferro Azure (island #6)?
  15. Aha! I think I know where this is going. I'm sure that Hawksbrugh fellow will put your experiments to the test. As to the build, I like pivoting wall - nice play feature! I also like the letter set to the level of the desk so it does not appear so thick (I need to steal this in a future build), and of course Alberto's headgear.
  16. This had me laughing out loud. There's a reason nobody in my crew is named Kenny. Great build, and hang in there. Your MRCA results have to improve; they can't get worse!
  17. May I present one of the oldest structures on the island of Nellisa, the Chapel de San Terreli.
  18. Chapel de San Terreli, licensed as a small cultural property.
  19. After Eslandolan explorer Cato Calrelli returned with news that he had discovered an island east of Terraversa, a handful of adventurous colonists sailed to the island of Nellisa and established the settlement of Nova Terreli on its northwestern coast. One of the first permanent structures these early settlers built was a church. The structure features buttressed walls, arched windows along the sides, inset statuettes flanking the entrance, round windows high at both ends, a traditional clay tile roof, and a bell tower. Only large enough to accommodate a dozen people at most, Nova Terreli soon outgrew the small structure. That old church is now known as the Chapel de San Terreli, and it is still used today for small weddings and other gatherings. Officials still keep the building and grounds well maintained. The chapel is an important cultural icon for the citizens of Nova Terreli as both a religious structure and a reminder of the settlement’s roots. * * * Here are a couple of additional architectural shots:
  20. Absolutely stunning! Great architectural detail, and the size! That second shot from the crowd's perspective is fantastic. Worthy of a king!
  21. The bar scene was one of my favorite parts to build because I had to recreate someone else's (CelesAurivern's) build. Once I realized Janszen would go to a tavern to find Hawksbrugh, I knew I had to try to build the Flask and Flagon. I just drew a new face on the head in MS Paint. It was harder than I thought it would be, but as long as I worked on the image at a high resolution before I reduced it for posting, it worked ok.
  22. Nice build, and nice continuation of the story. I'm going to steal that desk and coat tree (or at least their design ). And where are those antlers from?!
