  1. I'm loving the magic effect in the floor, especially with the lighting. It looks great!
  2. Deep in the midst of Nocturnus ,on the border of the towering Rakath Mountains and the deep swamps lies an quite unexpected sight, a cozy hospitable Avalonian house! It turns out this is where Dan has been living in solitude these last few years... Notes: Hey guys! This is my first build in quite a long time (like 3, almost 4 years). Its good to be building again and I'm glad GoH is still going on. Comments and criticism of the build are appreciated
  3. Hello guys! It's been a long time (around 3 years ) since I have been participating in GoH or even building at all, but I have finally started building again (for now). I have read up at little on the Book 3 challenges and entries, and caught up on the general gist of the story up to this point, so now its time to once again reaffirm my loyalty towards the mighty guild of Avalonia. I, Dan , re-declare my support for the mighty guild of Avalonia. Formerly a lord of Avalonia hailing from the settlement of Araluen , Dan unfortunately lost his title after disappearing without a trace and failing to show up for his lordly duties. Nowadays Dan travels throughout all of Historica as an adventurer; exploring, fighting, and helping those in need. Despite this,he remains a staunch defender of Avalonia and remains in close contact with his all of his former allies and friends.
  4. Ok I'm a little late to the party but I just have to say this looks awesome. The overall shape and posing look very fearsome.
  5. For the Black Spire A brave Avalonian messenger, mounted on her dragon, has traveled long and hard to spread the news of the return of the heir. Traveling only under the cover of darkness to avoid the Spire's many airborne monstrosities, she flies swiftly towards her destination; a remote goblin outpost high in the Rakath mountains, home to a company of soldiers loyal to the resistance. However , when she finally arrived at the Outpost she discovered that she was too late. The outpost had been looted and deserted, and all the soldiers were missing, probably all dead or chained up in some faraway Spire dungeon.
  6. Oh, this looks like fun! I can't wait to start building!
  7. Fantastic work! The overall scene here just comes together so perfectly, from the curved wooden sections, to the defensive spears, to the smoke in the background. It all fits together to create a really imposing and impressive looking entrance!
  8. Awesome build dG! I love the multilayered approach, its always fun to browse through all the different scenes!
  9. Incredible swamp landscape and building! The story here was definitely the most captivating so far, and even more so when I realized that this tied in with your previous build from 2 years ago!
  10. Fantastic story and build(s) as usual ME! Those light and fog effects are incredible!
  11. Wonderful castle ME and awesome landscaping! Excellent story too, although those guys being sent to the slave camps probably aren't enjoying it as much as I am!
  12. Excellent collection of MOCs! Very intriguing, I'm glad to see we have finally reached the climax of Book 2!
  13. Excellent work LJ! Clearly the inspector didn't know as much as he should have about the deadly properties of those Nocty pies!
  14. Excellent build Garmadon! I have looked at this several times, but I kept procrastinating on commenting until now. At first I was somewhat unsure about the rock face; I really liked the detailed texturing throughout but in my opinion when viewed overall it seemed almost like a flat background. However on reflection I kind of like it, I think it fits very well with the fantasy atmosphere you created with the vibrant castle and landscape versus having more chaotic rockwork for a more realistic/ grittier atmosphere.
  15. Maybe this one? ( The picture doesn't seem to be working in the topic so I included a link to the image on Flickr too)
  16. Great build! The rockwork, snowscape, and buildings all look wonderful! My only nitpick is that it is a little strange that the bell tower roof has no snow at all when the ground and the roof of the other building are covered in it.
  17. Sweet archery range and tower SK! I especially like the small crossbeams under the walkway!
  18. Excellent rocky arch! I feel bad for that Avalonian!
  19. Thanks UM! I can't wait to see what you "cook up" for the pie contest! Thanks! The roof technique is from this build by Slegengr. As for too much foliage its a swamp, there can never be too much! Thanks guys! The bars were a nightmare to tie together! Thanks SK! Thanks! Thank you! I've been sorting away my lime green pieces for this use. I'm glad you like the door too!
  20. Excellent build Blufiji! Great work on your unique swamp foliage and light up effects!
  21. Wow! Your previous trees were epic, but this just blows them out of the water! This has to be the most incredible Lego tree I have ever seen!
  22. Incredible micro build! The various tree designs are fantastic as are the fields, buildings, and pretty much every aspect of this build! Also congratulation on having this blogged by TBB... Twice!
  23. Excellent scene, I especially like that tree design! I'm glad Graham is a fellow Avalonian because he is a mighty warrior indeed to beat those odds!
  24. Masterful rockwork Kai! I also really like the use of the fire "wings" on the pyre, it looks very scenic!
  25. Excellent work! The red river with neon bubbles evokes a very classic Nocty feel, and I really like look of the curved blobs incorporated into the rockwork! The photography is incredibly improved too! Overall a top notch Nocty build!
