That is some amazing landscape work. Every bit. The cliffs, the waterfall, and the sea- I love the color variation leading to the sand. With that attention to detail, I can’t wait to see what you bring to the actual castle.

Yes...with one minor hitch. The 1x slopes on the roof’s ends won’t sit flush on the garage side.

I agree. I love the concept of it being his case that opens up into the world inside it. The suitcase is very well detailed & was a very fun build. It’s one of the few HP sets that I haven’t taken apart yet, despite not having room to display it somewhere.

Has LEGO ever listened to AFOLs? If so, when?
Vindicare replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
But the question is what percentage of sales is AFOLs themselves that’s being argued. As long as I’ve been into LEGO as an adult, I’ve heard the number around 10% of total sales. -
Ooh, good point. That will be interesting to see if that ends up happening. Would TLG getting a small part of the sale warrant enough to ban them though? Do you have any kind of proof or is thus just some wild speculation because you don’t like the move?

Ouch...all the movie minifigs? Sweet Mayhem is pretty great, & was my first introduction into the world of The Wizard of Oz minifigs, Golfin’ President Business(the prints & new golf club)...I could go on. Clearly I love the minifigs.

I only see that when it’s something that is all but guaranteed(as they have surprised us previously) to not be released, despite us AFOLs clamoring for it. With some of our wants we need to remember that. What’s the “something” you’re referring? I’ve seen a lot of that criticism surrounding Trolls & Minions. This is where we need to remember, first & foremost, that it is a children’s toy...so us being upset that they got the license or how stupid it is, kids will most likely think differently. -
I love it. I really like the use of the floors, both being the ice cream shop. It’s cool seeing a single use business in a half sized Modular.

Oof, that is bad...I checked Brickset’s review & theirs is solid. Maybe a bad batch then... -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vindicare replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
It’s funny, because when I first saw the Bookshop it immediately read San Francisco to me. The townhouse especially so is very reminiscent of what you see in SF...bright colors & all. I guess people see what they see depending on where they’re located. -
What’s this...something that isn’t an awesomely built figure?! Great looking scene, love the icy pond & the use of those white claw-thing pieces.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Vindicare replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Chiming in on this tangent to say not to get discouraged either. I think it best to keep our wants within reason, as this is about the 2020 sets & what they could be & are. Don’t let how other people react to your opinion keep you from giving it. It’s the Internet, it’s chock full of different opinions. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vindicare replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
City gives some good offerings, especially when it comes to populating a city. Last year’s hospital is great & fairly easy to MOD into fitting with the Modulars. There’s one or two pictures floating around here of people who have added them. Police station....gotta keep waiting on that. -

That is super cool! That’s one way to get people in the door. I’d be there a lot.- 1 reply

No flame, maybe a little spark... I don’t see why the app would diminish your opinion of the sets themselves. I own the graveyard, boat, & bus. They don’t lack in any way to me not using the app. The only app related downside is the color pieces, but that’s easy enough to do away with. The sets are great & we finally got an actual school bus.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vindicare replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I don’t see how a train terminal would fit. Considering they market it showing them attached to each other(or across a lane) where would train track fit in all that? Now, I suppose they could take a turn & make it a stand alone building. A bus terminal would be easier to make fit. -
Just looking at the pictures we have, the arch over the bookstore entrance is a new technique, the angled stairs, & the bay window appears to be fairly different as well. As you pointed out, the candlestick stacks, which is a lot sleeker than the one piece you showed. Then we have the interesting techniques of the slant roof on the townhouse & the triangle tiles used as floor detail in the sidewalk. Plus whatever else we get once we actually build the thing.

I hope not. I would imagine they’ll do 5 & 6 then 7 for a full wave, as that book got extra content due to the split. I suppose it depends on how many sets. 4 seems to be the early rumor, but now it’s apparently more(not including the Brickheadz).
-
Nothing in Technic appeals to me, so that’s why I said it. Even themes I don’t care for necessarily have some fun sets(think that Caterpillar bus sets from Trolls). I just prefer the System sets with minifigures.

Sadly a lot of shows suffer from that. They make stupid decisions in order to set up for the next action sequence. I enjoy cop shows, but it’s annoying to see them always shout from far away, “hey you! Stop!” like the criminal is just going to listen. Then the chase ensues.
-
Ditto. Fortunately most of them are in their own individual bags so it makes it harder for them to conspire against me(I hope). Although I do have all my Clones together in one bag...luckily the weapons are elsewhere.

That’s what I really noticed too. Such a great idea. I love the walkway you’ve built. Also the way you integrated Hogwarts into it. Only downside was the too short video. We need more!
-
Sidebar: I’d argue it is. It was shown along with all the others in the Assembly Square video & was included in the Mini Modulars.
-
So great! At the risk of sounding redundant, you have quite the talent for giving your figures so much personality.

At one set a year, I think we’ll be okay for awhile. But at the same time, packing so many businesses into one set is a lot. Like the Corner Garage, had gas station, mechanic, & vet. Likewise with the Diner. It would be nice to see more residential above these businesses & save the others for following years. Or see two townhouses or an apartment building(despite the super repetitive build it could bring).
