  1. Aardwolf, Nice Carrack! This is the second one I've seen in recent months. Great work on the custom built hull. The sails look great too, the only change I can think of would be a fore course with no top sail, but it looks superb as it is since it's fictional. Great work,
  2. Wow, This is very cool! Sand beach, tower, everything looks spot on. The textures are great as well, looks like a screen shot form a movie or game. Great work
  3. Phred, Thank you! Captain Dee, A Big Thank you!!! Plaid Beard, A Big Thank you to you!! Jreacher, A Big Thank you too!!! and yes copy all you like. Blackdeathgr, A Big Thank you as well!! Loot, pillage, and plunder all you like. Thanks again everyone for all the great replies!!!
  4. Vengeance II The ship has again been updated with extended sterncastle and forecastle, stern hull has also been changed, it's loosely based on the ship El Galeon.
  5. Captain Braunsfeld, Thank you for indexing all these great ships :)
  6. Congrats Captain, very well deserved as you helped keep the Pirates MOC board afloat with your positive feedback on everyone's posts. Again Congrats :)

  9. I've purchased and assembled all of the 2015 sets and in MHO they trump 2009 Pirates. This is based on more clever designs with limited part counts and a lot of added details including updated minifigures. These sets are also designed utilizing standard plates and bricks, a good example dark red brick blocks and not printed panels with red bricks. In the end they look and feel like higher quality sets and this is the reason why everyone is buying them for parts. Buy all of these sets and link the sub sets together to get full Pirates vs. Bluecoats effect, theses are all A+ Including the Juniors set.
  10. I agree the mini sets combined are a better value. I just put these sets together and the small added details stand out on the new sets, for example, the stone rock around the bases. The new sets also boast dark red brick blocks not painted brickwork on panels. The details are cleverly added throughout. If your a pirate fan these are a must have. The only con I have is the red shirt pirate needs better paint for the yellow details, they may need to print white first then cover with yellow as it looks transparent as it is.
  11. Can a Mod please delete my "Pirate Minibarf too" as I would like to add to Captain Bruansfeld's thread. Thank you, David
  12. Here's my latest I've been working on, Hayreddrin Barbossa (Redbeard). Now I need to build a crew of Barbary pirates to go with my Xebec. Here's most of the crew from Vengeance. Captain "Dead Eye Dave", Star reader "Lady LeeAnn", Quartermaster "Nathaniel", Surgeon "Lord Herzig" Next we have Bosun "Erica", Copper "Pierre", Master gunner "Sparks", Gunner "Misfire Mike" Next up, Swabbie "Smee", Carpenter "Chisel Charlie", Gunner "One Eye William", Navigator "Joshua"
  13. Great minifigures Captain!! Captain Braunsfeld, Nepoleon, & Mozart are my favorites. Cool idea as well,
  14. Captain Braunsfeld, Thank you, I did toy around with the stern cabin windows.
  15. Thanks, yes see more below, 30192 grappling hook - Lego KaBoom Boom Boom!! The battles rages,
  16. Added some gun stations for the Blues but think they are still being over run, I overheard the captain telling the gun crew to load chain shot in the 24's and I see the grappling hooks about to be tossed to bring her in for boarding.
  17. Well growing up watching old Captain Blood and Captain Kidd swashbuckler movies on Sunday as a kid and of course with the recent Pirates the Black Pearl always gave the tall galleons the glamorous appeal. The Golden Hind, Revenge, San Martin, along with the Pearl are favorites. I need to swap out stern windows with ached ones to improve the look of the ship. The Neptune, and Morning Star are beautiful ships as well.
  18. Yea I agree, but she's still pretty to look at and I'm a huge fan of galleons.
  19. Thanks, The crate top was in the parts bin and I'm not sure what it's from but it fits on top of the standard 4x 2 Lego crate.
  20. Mazin, Thanks again, yes I ordered additional supplies that I ran short on. :) Now they all have period correct Dutch VOC uniforms and hats, or as close as I could come up with. Enjoyed chatting with you, Merry Christmas to you and your family.
  21. Mazin, Again thank you for your great replies. The surface was our trampoline which was spayed down with water. Yes the galleon is intended to be a xvi century galleon which has been upgraded and modified over time with the acquisition of booty and trade by it's captain, carpteners, and crew. A constant work in progress.
  22. Mazin, First of all thank you for the great reply, Yes the blue coat cabin is one peg longer in length, but the galleon has four peg length balcony extended on the rear. Captain "Dead Eye Dave" does like the guns though. The twelve 24 pounders are a force to be reckoned with. Admiral "Pruiett" does like his creature comforts typical for a highborn. I've added additional closeup pictures per your request, The battle continues as the Pirate boarding parties have there boarding pikes in hand! Yes the meme was done by my daughter "A happy family is an early heaven" Thanks again, David
  23. Ayrlego, Thank you,
  24. Very nice design, there are a lot of features and elements that make this ship standout. The shape, the railings, decks, masts, all very well designed. Great work, I would like to see this one built.
