None. But April's fast approaching, and the LEGO Calendar usually shows up around these times in the month. Soon, this thread will welcome spring! -

Temperature check: -45 degrees Fahrenheit. -
And builds up a bit too much downforce than needed.

EB's LDD Relay Community Builds
XAxles replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I suggest something like this: for the next RCB. Don't worry, because while it is a licensed thing, what I have in mind is a racing paddock and pit lane that can accommodate max. 10 teams, with two cars per team, and endless possibilities for vignetting, like the scenes in the clip above. Fig-scale, of course, but the cars can be 8-wide (minimum 6-wide like the Speed Champs sets) to better represent your car and the team you've created. There's no need to worry about canon and authenticity, because there's no underlying plotline or storyline as well as characters. For now, there are two choices: Formula One or GT3 like the clip above, though I personally want the GT3 theme because of the huge variety of cars and liveries that can be replicated. Think Hoexbroe's MegaMOC with the race cars, but only the pit lane and start/finish straight as the base. And don't worry about the windshield, wheel arches, or wheels, either. If that suggestion gets chucked, I suggest a Creator Many-in-One model, with a base model and a challenge of creating an alternate model, and an alternate model of that alternate model. -

Now when will a new one begin? -
These are for the highlighted bits, in order that you see in the paragraph: "They so make the cars pop". Aye. chief. And here's the other thing: It is too hard to nail all of the angles and holes that the cars have with the scale and the amount of details, so the designers had to do quite a load of sacrifices. I mean, the only set I have beef with is the P1, and even that hits majority of the marks when you overlap a picture of the model with an image of the real thing, and the 458, which is admittedly , bluntly, rubbish coming from a fan of the real 458. In fact, I think one can run pictures of the models in comparable angles to those of the real thing and the guy will be astounded with the accuracy. "The cars are great" Whether in real life or in brick, I agree with that. Except the McLaren F1 car. Ugh, that nose. "new hub caps may be the year's coolest, most useful new parts" All of this. It comes with the right colors to be used everywhere else, like you said, but I can't help but think of another thing: will those hubcaps fit flush in a round space made by joining 2x2 macaroni bricks? If it does, HHHNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!! Ventilation fans rejoice!

Okay, Rick. GREAT NEWS!!! I have seen " "---wait. I am actually just waiting for a Speed Champions polybag. Something like the old Tiny Turbo sub-theme from Racers... though as to how they're gonna make the 918 in 4-wide is anyone's guess. My guess is that they're gonna follow the procedures and do something like the Shell-Ferrari promos. They can introduce some new front end, fender, canopy and rear end moulds (I think it's time for a curved version of this part) like the 250 GTO's front end from the Series 2 of the promo, but they better come with printed details! Oh, and new TT-scale wheel designs, too.
-
Didn't dig this model because the front end isn't too 458-y.I mean, here's one shot of the AF Corse 458: I think the gap below the 2x6 curved plate is enough, with an offset 1x1 plate.

Are we done with the reviews? Because I think it's now time for the news. Specifically, Porsche news. EB members, meet the 496hp, 4.0-liter, 198 mph Type 991 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. If the color is familiar, then that's because one of the cars in the big Porsche set, the orange 997 GT3-R hybrid, is also orange. It's easy to get the real one in brick if you have the whole set. Just peel the stickers off, scan the stickers, recolor the headlight details, modify the bumper a bit, and presto! Oh, and Koenigsegg's got a ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED HORSEPOWER, TWO HUNDRED FORTY-EIGHT MILE-PER-HOUR HYBRID HYPERCAR CALLED THE REGERA!!! AND IT'S GOT NO GEARBOX!!! And I was wrong about the wing. It is big, and IT'S HAND FOLDABLE!!! But wait. We're just mortals, and so the only thing we can have is the Honda Civic Type R. It's got 310 hp, 295 torques at 2500 revs, and most especially, front-wheel drive. Don't worry, though, everything is fine. Save for the front end.

How are them all as a theme? You think this'd last for a very long time?

The problem starts from the first boom extension and ends in the second boom extension. See? Gap and gap. The second boom extension, composed of Technic studded beams and smoothing tiles, will go wiggling about inside the frame I used for the first extension. How can I make a flush yet smooth first extension to fit the beam, while at the same time still be able to fit smoothly and flush to the main boom? I can use advice from expert crane makers. HINT: the completed crane is 8-wide.

I'm guessing mighty fine.

The DeLorean TLG made was just fig-scale, not UCS. They can do it, though it has to be a UCS Time Machine, as the 'Nilla DMC-12 isn't really that much of a groundbreaking car.The Aventador, on the other hand...
-
I'll just leave that here.

Just didn't dig the aesthetics of the F1 car... but would gladly scan and recolor the stickers for the computers and keep the rest of the pitstop, if only for the lattice towers.

But they didn't because Fischella.

[MOC] Bac Mono RC
XAxles replied to cutzish's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
A bare-chassis, 500-hp, 500 lb-ft of torque (specs on me) supercar? SOLD! Love the lines you've made with the flex tubing. The aesthetics are top-notch period, no qualifications. Though it's worth noting that no Top Gear presenter chose your car in the Australia Challenge in Series 22 because... well, you know, internals are bare. How fast is it? I might redo the specs when I scale the top speed. -
No. No. Doomsday has come. I think the 458 can use some more work at the bumper, as it seems to be anything OTHER than the 458 in that view. Methinks leave a 2-stud tall gap with just a 1x1 plate on a jumper. Where's my wing delete on the Porsche 911 set?

It's a good thing you now have the P1, j2g. I have specific instructions for you. Because now that you have all three models of the 918, P1, and LaF, and no one is looking at lowly Eurobricks, you can and must make the Top Gear Test Track in brick, and then film yourself while controlling the cars as they go 'round. As a guide: LaF has the best power-to-weight ratio, 918 has AWD and 4WS, and the P1 has torque fill with the hybrid system as well as a smart spoiler. And that they tested the P1 on Dunsfold. then go post it on YouTube as the final part of the review for all three. You're our only hope now, man. Be the hero and do the laps Ferrari is afraid of not being able to cheat just to make. I've checked every corner of my house, yours, the blokes in this thread, and EB Towers. I beg to differ on LaFerrari. Well, it needs an extra stud of overhang up front, but I think they got the silhouette and distinguishing details.

Like Petronas Towers and BMW Building and Taliesin. Yes, we shall all buy those.
