  1. In just-announced new-car news, ones that matter since TLG might just be getting these two, Ferrari will now replace the venerable, brilliant, beautiful and sexy 458 with this: They call it the 488 GTB, and it's got an exactly 3.9L turbocharged (*collective heavy breathing*) V8 redlining to 8,000 rpm (*heavier breathing*) pushing out 661 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque. And it looks like that. It looks like a lot of stickers and/or bows, though I can see lots of different techniques springing out of this car, like, say, offset bows to shape the bonnet the way it's shaped. But then, none of us wouldn't be able to buy that car, you know. The only performance car that matters to us plebes is the new Ford Focus RS, which will, at last, come to North America. (Then again, this is Eurobricks, and there are EB members that have seen or owned the old Focus RS in Europe.) On tap is about 330 hp going to all four wheels, and it's got brake-based torque vectoring, which won't matter, because when was the last time TLG made a proper hatchback? Stay tuned to this stream for the reveal, as I also wait for confirmation on specs. Right now, only the 488 is the likelier candidate for the LEGO translation, but who knows? With WRC being the hotter series than F1 and hot hatches getting all the raves, it's about time TLG make actual hatches, with opening doors, trunk, and suspension. Or suspension, at least.
  2. Like, REALLY CLEAR AND AMAZINGLY HD PDF INSTRUCTIONS? I ask after finding the instructions for Technic 9391 just to find out how the small Technic turntable works and how I can make it work for a build of mine: a 28-axle crane. More on that after this segment. Here's a screenshot as a sample: There. Now that you have an idea of what I'm looking for, maybe you know what set has PDF instructions that look this crisp. I'll edit this topic so I can post my WIP. For now, dinnertime!
  3. As many Speed Champions sets as I can handle it. I'd take two of the 918, P1, and LaF, and two of the Porsche 911 sets (so I can make road-legal versions). Dissing the 458 GT2 model, as it's not even good-looking, and because in real life, the big team running the car always triggers crashes in endurance races. The big Ferrari truck? Man, I might make a few sacrifices.
  4. It is indeed the plan, my lieutenant.
  5. So, how do you roll in this street? With a Coupe De Ville, an Impala, or a Porsche 918?
  6. I can also see that connection in the box as well! It looks like it's connected by friction, but I think this is just some supports. Also, I think this model can seat two figs quite snugly. Just wrap them in legal rubber band.
  7. I could see that flat-twin engine in front and much gearing at the fuselage. And dat fire department sticker. I suddenly want that.
  8. You know, I think they did a fine job with the 911.
  9. Oh, that's too bad. But can the new arches accept old City-spec wheels? I saw that. Pretty wicked, if not a bit high. Then again, that has been the trend with auto design, with side windows getting smaller and such the higher the tier you go. Oh gawd the greebling that can be done with those hubcaps. Now, I'm gonna do a screen of the Porsche 911 racers set. There's that panning shot that just convinced me that TLG did make a 911 work and brilliantly. Still dissed that the woman isn't driving any of them--it would have made for a great Sabine Schmitz fig!
  10. That's good news for me and other 6W car MOC-ers. The hubcaps question are still up for grabs (I'm gonna wait until I see the wheels from the McLaren P1, which resemble OZ Ultraleggera's, and the best hubcaps of the bunch if you ask me), but as I see it, the hubcap is studded, which means it might fit to Technic pinholes and stud receivers. Don't we all love dem buttocks? Well, maybe not the 918 (against the P1 and the LaF, it's got nothing), but still.
  11. Don't say either F40, Huracan, or McMerc SLR.
  12. Is that a new turbine part on 60092? Where's 60094? Sharks, SHARKS, SHARKS!!! I think the ship in 60095 can be put together stern-to-stern to make a symmetrical boat for a particular kind of purpoe. As to what, I'm not sure. If they float, then that set will float my boat. 60093 is the weakest in this line-up, for me.
  13. On to the questions: Have you tried the new wheels to the old mudguards? How's the build? What's a particularly interesting step? Where else can the hubcaps fit? Die buttocks. Who else likes it?
  14. James May: GOD HOLY TROUSERS!!! BTW, anyone saw yesternight's episode? Did James do the LaFerrari review on there or was it Jenniferremy with the BMW i8?
  15. Oh, this is shaping up to be good. You have to watch James' review of the real LaF, Superfunk. If you're gonna do one, I wanna read that in James' voice. Please? Please do it.
  16. Rear of the box is nice. On to the parts. So I'm seeing 10 stickers, hubcaps (!!!!!!!), 2 booklets? Either way, keep on this. And larger pics, too (especially the wheels, wheel arches, and windscreen), including that.
  17. Best guess is that it'll be Mini Cooper-smooth. If they can go all-out (Go, Team Jamie!) they can have a real working Technic engine bay driven by the rear wheels, with cover like the real thing, as well as steering and suspension. The F40 is a pretty basic supercar; no pop-up wings, no electronic nannies and such. The Porsche 959 (the likelier successor) has more buttons and more tech. Watch Hammond's review of those two cars so you have an idea. It'll be a big model to have a working engine, steering, ans suspension--at least 1:8 scale.
  18. Whoa. This is an ominous sign. JAMES MAY REVIEWING THE LAFERRARI CONFIRMED!!!JENNIFER IS GOING DOWN!
  19. Because TLG does not love you anymore!! Well 12 trophy-figs isn't that bad if they do the job and do it well.Hey, I just realized it, there's a chance that someone can make an Avengers Chessboard using the trophy-figs as the men.Though that'd mean more trophy-fig versions of your favorite Avengers characters.
  20. All the lead characters in Agents of SHIELD...
  21. Though now I realized that TLG could have used just the small Technic motorcycle rims for the rotors.
  22. Ah, finally! Another person! This is what this topic badly needed.Yes, you do want a UCS McLaren F1? With real working engine in actual colors found on engine bay lined with metallic gold tiles? Yes, that's how you want it, right? Wait for another year, after Ferrari's turn.
  23. It's pretty chilly in here. Like, -17 degrees Celsius kind of chilly. WHEN IN 2015 WILL I SEE THE UCS FERRARI F40?! Oh, wait. We're just nearing February.
  24. *knock knock* Anyone home? No one? I've got this picture to at least let the hype for the UCS Ferrari F40 build up: Also, who wants a UCS McLaren F1?
