And 4estFeller still did a better one. Here's the front box art, everyone: Hmm... Can I build this set without the rotors and just have it as, well, a hypercarrier (or at least add armament on the main flight deck so it's a carrier/battleship hybrid)?
-
So, everyone's disappointed that they got no Phil Coulson and Bruce Banner, there are too many studs showing, the non-Quinjet vehicles are tacky, and using trophies seemed to be a bad BAD move. That out of the way, I love it. Absolutely. I mean, a printed flight deck (AT _______ LAST!!!), functioning rotors, an actually tastefully done control center, wedges and bows in the greys that will be sought-after... Is there more space on that fence?

It's Marcus Bessa! Here's the big square so you can watch here.

But I think 3 in 10 EB members ( or 1 in 2, to be generous) already have the components needed to motorize the set, mainly the juice box, M-motor, and either remote or polarity switch. -

If someone's gonna but the set just for the figs, what's the point of the whole set? TLG might as well just make a special line like the NBA Players figs as an end-all, "Win-win" solution. You are gonna buy the Helicarrier, not Maria Hill, Steve Rogers, Nick Fury, Clint Barton and Natasha Romanova figures bundled with a big model of a gigantic flying piece of concrete housing a few kites. -

Unless you want TLG to go Bugatti when the Veyron was made and make a thing that'd make them lose more money by making the model 100% fig-scale like the Ideas Helicarrier. Look at the pic of the bridge. That level of detail put the main minifigs to shame, sure, but still. -
I don't know. I've run out of stuff to talk about. Except if the Fire Plane actually has a bay where "water" (1x1 round tiles in trans-blue) can be stored. And if that bay is big enough to store 100. As a Tiny Turbo builder, I'm gonna need more projector headlamps. Or that laser headlamp thing Audi is toting.

You blokes are clamoring for figs a little too much I'm now seeing it as overkill. It's like wishing an Enzo Ferrari fig in the UCS Ferrari F40, even if the fig is just, what, just $0.75 compared to the rest of the model. -

It's still a pretty slick job for the size. -

Does anyone wanna see the bridge? You don't? No? Sure? Good. Move along. Yes? You do? Really? You wanna? Here ya go: *snip* So now you have one Iron Man Trophy for Smooth Exterior Work and one Captain America Trophy for Internal Stiffness and Stability. Actually, I like this bridge, and I like it a lot. Edit by Bob de Quatre: No we don't, not until the official date/time of release -
42043 Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245
XAxles replied to AndroTech's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I thought the consensus was either Space Shuttle or 8880 Super Car for Best Technic Set Ever. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "42043 at least meets the £10/function criterion: 2x steering, 4x suspension, 2x diff, 1x engine, 4x pneumatics, 1x compressor, 1x tip, 1x tip flap catch, 1x motor, 2x stabilisers (extend, drop) = 19 without counting the cab tip and door opening, so £170 has good enough play value for money." Preach! -

Battle ready, soldier! Know what words to use! That out of the way, kick me outta here, Miss Minchin. I don't wanna see Lavinia's face ever again. OK, back to this set. If the B-model's a flatbed truck, then how will the pneumatics be used? -

The crawler crane's holding a section of boom. That can only mean one thing. MOAR SECTIONS!!!The Arocs impose the will...though I can't help but think that they should have just brick-built the front mudguards and added a bit more tile cladding on the crane arm for a bit of a meaner look. And the tubing. DEER LAWD CHEEZUZ. -
Actually, this model only shows one side of the building, though I think one can just buy at most 8 copies and make the whole Louvre complex. Which is nice, actually.

Lego worst failures by Lego Designer Mark Stafford
XAxles replied to Ondra's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So, one of the world's greatest LEGO Technic sets, the Space Shuttle, was part of a failure? That's neat, in a bad sort of way. -
Just approaching February and you get to see the Advent Calendar?! THIS IS MADNESS! Digging the Shuttle builds at the bottom most tier, in between the Marshmallow and Santa. Also, TWO RC RACERS!!! AND CHIBI TRAIN!

Dark blue with white and hints of red... any country whose Air Force has those colors? 31037, this thing above, has a tow hook with line and winch, some noice hinge work, combined steering and suspension ( I think), and... 37x18R wheels? And it also looks like the green parts are the same green as in the Technic Le Mans Racer... which is partly nice, I guess. Oh, will you look at that: Control surfaces!
