  1. ReBrick's got a contest!!! Build what you think is next, new McLaren in brick and you might just snag a seat to the Goodwond Festival of Speed and see lots of epic and legendary cars!!! Specific stipulations are right in here, but I'll give you some of the key stuff: "Maximum measurements for the model are the size of a shoebox: 33cm x 19cm x 10.06 cm. You can build a car that would fit inside a shoebox of that size or a smaller car placed in a diorama that you fit inside those measurements but the model must not exceed this size". Max scale: 1:18, I guess. Something something press buzzwords "should show a clear understanding of the McLaren brand" and other buzzwords. Question: What's a McLaren for you? Once you have a clear answer, build that car. Winner goes to Goodwond along with another person and should admit to the nearest hospital immediately afterward to replace their salivary glands and bladder and other key body parts that may malfunction due to seeing REALLY COOL CARS!!!, the other three blokes that get in the top 4 will have their models displayed at Goodwond along with the winner, get free sweg from McLaren as well as Speed Champions sets, but will not be able to go to Goodwond and will stay healthy for a long time. All models will be returned to their original builders after the event.
  2. What are those train wheels?
  3. Curious as to whether or not System plates can fit in there.
  4. I think I found just the real-life jet that flies with a wing like that. Meet the Sukhoi Su-47. Trading outright speed for dogfight maneuverability even at extreme angles and higher range at subsonic speeds. As for the review, spiffy. This goes in to the wringer for me.
  5. I guess I did veer a bit off. A wild Lego Falken Porsche appears!!! The car paint's custom, according to this TopGear.com article (10th entry).
  6. Right, right. I didn't notice the front wing mistake--the performance of the car overall was just entrancing. Looks like the panels used up front should be mounted upside-down.
  7. Didn't notice that bit (and I know quite a lot about F1 aero). Do tell.
  8. Well, this is pretty off-topic, but the men in question DID "drive" some of the models in this line. Here goes... Hello, they used to be Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond (not sure who they are now), and they're gonna do a live action arena tour. Yep, they're back, and they might just go Netflix.
  9. My comments are already on the Youtube video, but still, 9/10.
  10. Here's a favorite detail shot of the Ferris Wheel which Huw has reviewed. Also, tree. And loading/unloading mechanism.
  11. Is that a Mun Buggie with Setalleitte?
  12. I suggest you play Portal and/or Portal 2 with your children, and tell them the gun helps her teleport. Teleportation looks cool to a kid (I speak as my 14-year old self), and the flying transfers would elicit some "Oooh"s and "Aaah"'s. NEW SONIC SCREWDRIVER MOULD GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! NEW PORTAL GUN MOULD GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! Photos sre from Brickset. Apparently the Portal 2 instructions are live, and even that will be pulled out eventually.
  13. Plus taking into account the fact that I've got no XBox One or Wii U yet... well crap. But if the figs are detachable, it's OK even if I don't get the whole lot of 'em. I've got a cluttered house and endless imagination.
  14. Homing [simon] Cowell!!! Portal 2 is real! And Doctor Who!!! Even Scooby-Doo!!! Tell me, just how much will all these cost (full game + Portal 2 + TLM)?
  15. Oh dear god, it's the great Firas Abu-Jaber, one of the best large-scale supercar MOCers!!! He's here!!!
  16. So either 'Vette, Golden Girls, Piano, or Labyrinth Marble Maze for the win. Just imagine if you have both the UCS Ferrari F40 and the Corvette. Methinks it'd rock really hard.
  17. It's my original idea, and I can't wait to see this happen before my eyes coming the end of May.
  18. 2250 max? Man it better have an accurate, working rear-wheel-driven TT V8 engine. Or an Enzo Ferrari minifig with his table approving the manufacture of the F40.I wished too much. Or maybe it's just I'm a big fan.
  19. Fits more full-size figs, has ICE CREAM!!! along with other amenities, and is built stronger, too. The big ace in 4957's sleeve, however, is the fact that one can build more than just a Ferris wheel from the parts in this set and there were instructions for it. Though it looks like I just suggested a building contest to see who can make alternate models from 10247.
  20. Oh, something like these? I remember Brickset had a database entry for the trains and the Fairground Mixer.
  21. $200, 2464 pieces, 12 gondolas that can fit 3 figs max, 10 figs with cool prints, ICE CREAM!!!, and neatly-set functions (dat rubber wheel turning the eye)... Jamie, you've just made a winner!
  22. Allen took it down, possibly on TLG's request. Either way, I've seen enough. It's locked in for me. Now the F40...
  23. This set is just getting more and more brilliant. LiBrick has all of the HD too. My Flickr's borked, so it's a good thing someone else got another link. There seems to be a love triangle going on in this set.
