  1. I'm saying it couldn't find it in 5 or less stores (for one level mind you) and the program can't check for beyond 5 stores so it was useless, it doesn't even give you the best match it does find. My next step is to remove everything I really don't care about from the first level... minifigs, food/decorations and such, and try again.
  2. I went to try to bricklink Green Grocer... First I found the LDD file for Green Grocer... then I separated the 3 levels into 3 different files. Then I imported the first level into Brickfencieny... Despite removing like a dozen parts it couldn't find, it was still unable to find all the pieces in 5 of less stores in the USA, so it didn't give me any useful information. Is there some better way of doing this?
  3. Anyone's seen the train station modular on Ideas? https://ideas.lego.com/projects/85689 I never thought of putting the tracks right through the middle of the building but it certainly solves the issue of having to have train tracks in front of all your other modulars.
  4. I've seen both - http://www.solutionsiq.com/images/barber-shop-backlog-grooming-tools-techniques-agile-teams.jpg
  5. I'd love to see a castle or pirate themed restaurant... restaurant because I can't think of any other legitimate way to bring those elements into the modular/city line. How cool would it be to have cannons in a modular? Or a "Medieval times" type place?
  6. I just noticed the base of the street lamp is above the rest of the sidewalk- in all the previous modulars I have the streetlamp is attached directly to the baseplate so the base is flush with the flat tiles that make up the sidewalk... Going to see what is better- dropping this one down or raising all the rest.
  7. My modulars sit on a counter dividing the kitchen from the living room of my house...
  8. I thought that was just mine... it is probably the worst aligned of the bunch, but not horrible. I do like the elevator in that it takes up less room than stairs. I never realized it had one until I sat down to built it.
  9. I realize I'm usually the one with different opinions than everyone else and I guess LEGO is no different. Grand Emporium was my favorite modular... maybe because it was my first- but I like the size and openness inside- I can get my big hands in there. My least favorite so far was Fire Brigade. I've done them all at this point except the first three. On an separate note I just built Town Hall for the first time- does everyone have an issue with the front doors not opening completely because they hit into the columns or did I do something wrong? The doors open maybe to 70 degrees each (as opposed to 90 or more that you would expect.)
  10. I went with black lattice... I have gold already on the Pet Shop, wanted it to be different. It doesn't draw as much attention to it, but gives a finished look.
  11. To answer some of your specific concerns- 1) Doors never fall apart for me. 2) Agreed- leave the pieces in the box if you can't use them inside somewhere 8) Sturdy for me, doesn't move at all 10) FIxed with $3 and a bricklink order.Latices are cheap- a few cents a piece. First class mail + a few latices, won't cost much. Everything else I agree- but they are easy enough to fix with your own pieces- that is, more details inside and more detail on the roof.
  12. You understand theaters in the USA don't look like that? There is only the one famous Chinese Theater in Los Angeles that looks anything like that- clearly what the Palace Cinema designers were going for-
  13. Well the only available modulars now are Palace Cinema, Parisian Restaurant, and Pet Shop which may be hard to find. RIght now I have Fire Brigade between PC and PR. My only other thought would be to put it to the left of the PS perhaps if I didn't have any others. Note- half the petshop (the house) didn't fit on this table, so its being moved shortly.
  14. I like the building, I like the outside, I like the inside. The "story" is not important to me, a story can be made for anything. I'm not surprised at the price- though would have hoped for lower of course. WIll be my 7th modular.
  15. The term might be trade marked, not copyrighted. That said nothing stops you from using Lego in a domain name, I did. They haven't complained yet. No I won't link it here, it isn't relevant.
  16. The arches at the bottom are old grey where the rest of the building is light bluish grey.
  17. It's a lot closer to 1 than 9. $1 USD = $1.16 Australian according to Google today.
  18. Thanks... Hoping that was it- the tape on both ends looks intact,,, still might bump this to the front of the build line just in case there is a problem.
  19. Does anyone remember if the Fire Brigade had extra cellophane wrapping around the perimeter of the box? My sister bought this for me for my birthday off eBay and it was listed as "New" and "Sealed box." But I have never seen this used on LEGO before, however I wasn't buying LEGO when Fire Brigade was new. It's hard to see in this picture but you can make some of it out. Was this normal for this set?
  20. It's ridiculous that people still talk as if it is possible to predict what will pass review or not. There are no hard set in stone rules so you cannot possibly predict with any degree of certainty. If the Big Bang Theory set proves no one can honestly claim they are doing anything but wild speculation.
  21. You'd have my vote. Honestly I like your interior better than the one on Ideas. Absolute best would be to move 1 small dinosaur to your interior and it would be perfect.
  22. Ideas for modulars are easy... it's makin them that is hard. I like this museum a lot, would certainly vote for it if you put it up on LEGO Ideas. As for more suggestions, besides the Hospital and Pizza Place already mentioned I've been seriously hoping for a Courthouse. FIrst floor would have a security entrance (Metal detectors like an airport, security booth) then another floor would be the courtroom itself, Judge's bench, jury box, witness box, desk for defense and prosecutor, and benches for the audience. Top floor would be judge's office and/or jury deliberation room. Mini-figs would be fun, you could have a prisoner, some cops, the judge, the lawyers, a couple of spectators. Maybe a snack stand on the first floor. Outside you'd have statue of "justice" with the scales. I think it would work well- just don't have the supply to actually build something. Oh for the Hospital, what would really make it a unique modular should you decide to do that, a heliport on top with a medical helicopter you can put up there.
  23. They change the designs anyway. They never know if the new design would have made 10,000 supporters or not. I think they are well aware the quality of the work is a small factor in reaching 10,000 votes. Getting 10,000 votes is about your marketing effort more than your LEGO design quality. Technically you don't even need to show pictures of a LEGO build, you can draw sketches or take pictures of a paper mache model, if you get 10k votes it goes to review.
