  1. I was going to ask- are they nanoblock compatible?
  2. Someone needs to fill them with liquid and find out how the volume of two small cups compares to one large. I have neither.
  3. You are welcome. Make sure you save a copy- I don't know how long the server it is hosted on will be up.
  4. This image is the largest allowed (without distorting) for a signature- Smaller version- And if you ever need to use it as an avatar somewhere-
  5. I guess I was getting used to it- the recent big sets I've looked at or put together all had some sorting- The Technic Rock Crawler 9398, the Technic Cargo Plane, 42025, even Benny's Spaceship (x3.) Don't have to take over an entire table to build those.
  6. Wow.. I was going to do my own time lapse but there is no point to it now... I don't have nearly the patience or ability to do anything close to that...just as well- sometimes I find stopping to take constant pictures gets in the way of the fun of building. What did you think about the build itself- I was a little shocked to see so many bags, 14 by my rough count- with absolutely no order to them... basically need to have all 14 bags open and available from the very start.
  7. The fact a company launches a new word into public use should be something to be proud of- not cry over.
  8. I don't think I've ever written "Lego" in all-caps and doubt I will ever start to do so. With all respect to TLG they should be happy people mention them at all. The only word I've consistently written in all caps was L O S T to refer to the TV show with the plane crash, mysterious island, and disappointing ending.
  9. I also try to find places for as many left over pieces as possible once I finished building. As much as I loved Ecto-1 there wasn't a single piece I had two duplicates of- it really annoyed me I couldn't find any good places for any of the extra pieces.
  10. I don't know what they call it- OCD or something- but I have to build a set as it was intended, even if only for an hour, before harvesting it for parts.
  11. I've been trying to make sure I always have at least one set to build... I don't know why- I guess so that if I ever got really bored or something I'd know there was something I could do. Am I crazy? Anyone else try to stick to this system? Right now I'm happy because I have a backlog of 3 sets (2 large technic sets and the ghostbusters car) with another big technic on order for next week. I try to do one set a weekend or so, so this will see me through to September hopefully.
  12. The original blue spaceman with the old helmet is $7 to $8 on bricklink.. you could crack the helmet yourself and have a more authentic "Benny."
  13. Thank You. Thanks. Now I'm not so sad it broke.
  14. I placed an order last week for the Technic Cargo plane- received both the order confirmation email and the item shipped email, and both showed up today in the same box. (USA/NY)
  15. I saw Serious Play on Lego.com and was about to ask about it myself... In the USA it's $37 for 219 pieces. But my question was- did every set have the same 214 pieces or was it just 214 random pieces? From the picture it certainly doesn't look like there is any logic to the pieces being included- I kind of wondered if there was a chance you might get different parts with different orders. Do you know the part # or have a link for that part?
  16. I know C is Lego, I just thought it was cool to remember how those translucent pieces used to come- I haven't had to seen a set where I needed to detach them since my childhood. Does anyone know if A, B, and/or D are Lego pieces? None of them have any markings I can see. B has a broken leaf, that's why it's not in the right place, it's hanging on by a small thread of plastic.
  17. From the article "A warrant search of Chan’s home turned up 300 boxes of merchandise with a total value of $50,000, she said." That would mean the 300 boxes averaged $166 a piece... these weren't $50 sets.
  18. Wow... I'd never leave the beach!
  19. My only experience was emailing them about an issue with LDD. I got the email confirming they received my question saying they would respond- but then nothing- no response, not even "Sorry we can't help you."
  20. Those sample pictures are nice- clearly the person taking them has some experience in photography, either professional or a hobby. Here was a picture I took with a Sony Cybershot WX80/B- no tripod or fancy lighting used here, just a couple of pieces of oak tag paper and the camera flash. Link since image is big: http://juotpics.com/pics/images/130DSC00008.jpg I am happy with the camera. $149 on Amazon with a bundle that includes a case and extra battery.
  21. Never even heard of them before. Will see if any show up around here.
  22. I will grant you I'm not an expert but how could anyone confirm that was a misprint as opposed to just having some of the ink rubbed away or removed by a cleaner like acetone?
  23. Yesterday woot.com was offering the HALO Mammoth for $99 - it looked awesome - http://kids.woot.com/offers/mega-bloks-halo-unsc-mammoth-vehicle But... not really being a HALO fan myself I passed on it. Also didn't have a great experience with Mega Bloks to throw $100 toward them... they'll have to win be back with a smaller set first.
  24. Mega Bloks is the only brand I have ever purchased a new set from that had missing parts.
