  1. This is so lush. Not only an excellent cliff build, but the greenery makes this feel like a very rainforest-y part of Avalonia. I do agree that some more magic special effects would have helped with the impact of the battlemage's spell, but I also like the subtlety.
  2. Love the rickety slapstick feel of this. Also, a great use of space.
  3. I like the tamed wargs. I'm all for thinking outside the box when it comes to tropes about fantasy and fantasy races. Good thing there's a lot of that in GoH! This build is a great tribute to Undermining. I can't imagine how you guys do those underground rocks though. I'd love to see a tutorial on that.
  4. So good. I think your attention to photography really pays off, Gideon. Each of your builds is a lesson in framing, point of view, and overall quality and clarity. I really like the sand green in here. These are some of your best smaller builds, I think.
  5. Really like this one, but agree that the forced perspective would work better without that bush.
  6. That table is great.
  7. Great looking inn. The roof sitting on those studs makes me think there'd be gaps, but you can't see them from this angle. Are there gaps between the roof and the frame of the inn or did you fill them in somehow? Just curious because I have problems with that when doing eave-shaped roofs.
  8. If anyone can print decals and is willing to send them around, I'd pay for them. I've tried to get something like that going here for my own uses, but haven't been able to.
  9. AMAZING. I really like the story here and that statue is unique and cool for not being warlike. I also really like the choice of Hagrid's hair-beard for a dwarf since it looks overwhelming which is appropriate. As always, your attention to detail and color pays off huge here.
  10. Incredible, Gunman. My favorite build from you by far. I actually thought I had a shot with my statue, but you've raised the bar yet again!
  11. The dwarves have kind of a Games Workshop (Warhammer) feel to them, which I personally like. On the topic of concept here, I'd say you're going to get pushback for completely ignoring the GoH ban on gunpowder technology. You've got a huge cannon and dwarves toting pistols here, which is too much. Anyway, we'll see what others have to say about it. I'm not about to get into that debate again with you. As for the build itself, I definitely think the figs are the standout and I don't think the headgear or torsos you chose are a problem. A can of air or a brief soak in some water would fix the dirty look your green baseplate has. I like the shot from inside the drow fort, that's an inspired choice. I think otherwise, you may have done the best you can with limited bricks. If not, then maybe a bit more time spent on throwing some texturing into landscape and architecture would help your builds look better.
  12. AoM Farm Phase 1: The Family Cow / McCoyed / Mitgardia
  13. Haha, nice. My wife had a lot of involvement in my series too!
  14. My favorite is the juggler. Spot on. There are some inspired ideas here, but I think you probably should have chosen a different shield for the Yeti (those are Avalonia colors he's flying!) and I think one or two of the Nocturnus 'figs could have used a bit more effort.
  15. I like the whimsical style, and there definitely is something Blizzard/Games Workshop about this.
  16. Thanks Sleg. I should never have "finished" this with that water. Oh well, learning experience! Yeah, I'll be sticking with that theme throughout the phases. Yup. I figured most people would point out the crappy water. :P You'll like my 2nd Phase, Kabel. I took your comment about the banks to heart, especially. That said, the transparent clear dots and cheeses in this phase were meant to be froth. I think opaque white is too strong for that. Yeah, I've fixed it for Phase 2. I'm big on doing interpretations since, how many variations of "gardener in a field" can you have outside of Nocturnus? :P
  17. The Anker family's most prized possession has long been their cow, Patches. Because the family only lives near this stream in the summer months, Patches must graze freely and be milked out in the open. The great fields and herds of cattle common in the South aren't very feasible in much of Mitgardia. Still, the wildflowers kind of make up for it, right? Builder's Notes: I tried to go for a simple, pastoral scene and maybe went too simple here. Especially that small waterfall... not sure I'm very pleased with it. Not much really going on in this build, but I couldn't think of much more to add without seriously expanding the base size. Oh well, I'll leave that to the next phases. I also interpreted the basic idea of this section of AoM since many small crops and gardens have already been built. The Norse often had a hard time with vegetables in their lands, which were harsh and difficult. Norway and Iceland are good examples. They did keep animals, of course, so I've decided to focus on animals for my Farm builds. Hope that's okay!
  18. Thanks mpoh! I'm so dang proud of that tent. Thanks, Ecc!
  19. Lot of neat ideas in here plus the cleanest, yet most well-stylized stone architecture in all Mitgardia. I like the distinctive style that has emerged for the Amortug dwarves, and it actually reminds me a lot of the Numenorean style they went with for the art direction in the LotR movies. I see Orthanc and Osgiliath in your Amortug builds especially!
  20. Very nice build overall. Especially the wall, the landscaping, and the stone extension on the inn. That said, I think the inn looks a bit busy and awkward (maybe just from this angle) and I think it's mainly because you tried a lot of stuff with it. That awning over the balcony, for example, is an inspired idea but looks a bit odd.
  21. As others have commented, the rafters and candleholders are great standout details in this build.
  22. I think this is my favorite Cat C entry so far!
  23. Some familiar "faces" in here. Similar ideas, different executions! Bone Collector especially! Feels like a different take on the same mythic character I created for mine! I prefer your bard's instrument to mine, by the way. My favorites are the Mother and the Goblin. Using the Chima bats as goblins is a cool idea.
  24. Great brickbuilt ship, nice columns, and I especially like that loose brick circle you made. Those ballistae are also compact and nice looking.
  25. Thanks DG! Thanks Sleg! I'm pretty sure Bregir is planning on introducing this "weapon" to dwarven clans across Mitgardia. Tuval keeps encouraging him to add a notice saying "do not try at home".
