Agree with Kai. I've been wondering how some of those CMF Egyptian warrior bits were going to pop up. This is a great use of them.

So much better than my take on the same idea. Hat's off, Disco. -
Brethren of the Brick Seas?
mccoyed replied to Admiral Croissant's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
What does being a leader specifically entail? -
Thanks LV. I struggled with that part of the build. Did like 4 versions of the waterwheel before I found one that was the right size and shape. Good eye re: the blood. That said, this was supposed to be a reservoir which actually raises the question of how the waterwheel functions without some other motion-capturing mechanism. I guess I should have done the blood flowing downstream or added sails to the waterwheel to catch wind instead of flowing water. Oops! Thanks. I try to experiment with base shapes. I should have done a frame for this base, though. Didn't notice that my daughter used the light blue plate as a ruler (see the pink marker?) until after I was posting these. Thanks Ska! Thanks Kai. I agree. I don't mind the irregular shape of the base, and it is symmetrical at the waterside edge. On the other side, it's not... I should have made a frame for it though. That would have helped I think. Thanks! Thanks Gideon! Thanks Mike! Thanks Maxim! You're too nice. I wish I'd had some brown 1x1 blocks with the technic holes so that I didn't have to include light bley. That's the only thing about the wheel that I'd change. Thanks ME. The Yukar fled Nocturnus during the civil war. They're not big fans of the current management. They fought in the Whispering Wood for Petera MacLean and won a place in his lands. Now they serve him as their liegelord. He'd have to give them his blessing to return and fight in Nocturnus, but it could happen!

Thanks Basil!

Thanks, ME. I struggled with the photography on this one, actually. I mean, I always struggle but the shape of this was a bear.

GoH Cat. B-1 [Trouble in Kaliphlin]
mccoyed replied to Jakorin Swiftsword's topic in Guilds of Historica
Gotta echo the praise for the design of this interior. Really nice looking figs too. -
I love this pseudo-Roman look for the Leander that GoH has developed.Great build and good idea with the mummies+water. That said, I think those trees could use some more tinkering.

Thanks. I like doing Nonhuman builds. Thanks! Maybe they do. Maybe they do.

Thanks LV. Much more to come. Haha, I hope meeting your expectations is good in this case! Thanks Kabel. Heh! Thanks Josh! These are FROZEN BEYONDERS haha. DIFFERENT THING, I swear.

At the edge of the Reservoir, a contingent of Yukar clean up after a brief battle with Ulandian soldiers. It's been a long time since the Yukar clansmen have been in a battle, but now Petera MacLean calls them to serve the High Council and serve they shall. The Yukar leader makes ready to plant a banner. Soon, other High Council troops will appear to take full possession of the waterwheel at this location. The waterwheel is considered a vital fixture on the aqueduct, one of a handful that other Yukar are currently capturing. The wheel pulls water up out of the reservoir and send it down the ducts to the rich farmlands nearby. Yukar are notorious for taking the heads of defeated enemies. Some might not appreciate the pollution of the reservoirs potable water, but it's the last thing on the mind of Tantam, First Executioner for Hataman.

End of an era, perhaps! Thanks! Thanks! Hah. Well, maybe they should come back and help out. Thanks! Totally some Song of Ice and Fire in here. Well, more ice than fire. I know, right? I was very excited when I bought the battlepack and the torsos work so dang well. I'm going to get one or two more.

Throughout the North, these creatures from the Frozen Beyond descend upon Mitgardians and bring to them death and destruction. Rather than the sword or the torch, they bring ice and cold the likes of which even the hardy Northern folk have never before seen. Everywhere they go, they blast the land with ice and snow, leaving behind eerie monuments to whatever ancient Gods they serve. Their victims are left as frozen statues as often as not, bizarrely similar in appearance to the creatures themselves. Lest they suffer the same fate, these poor villagers must run as they've never run, with the monsters from the Frozen Beyond dogging their every step...

Bravo for going studs-out. Don't see that much! I also have to echo the compliments about the groundwork and flora. Very good.

Whoa, so could this be why it's getting so cold? Those guys are menacing. Loving the ice effect and the nice moment of eerie mystery when the Frozen Beyonder is just sitting there chanting. Good work, Josh!

Book II, Chal IV - Kaliphlin Civil War (Results Posted)
mccoyed replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
It usually depends who is organizing the challenge. A few prominent GoHers are purists and they usually design contests, especially the smaller ones, to reflect that. Bigger ones usually allow aftermarket stuff but it should probably always be mentioned clearly for every challenge since this question comes up often.- 272 replies

Thanks Mike! Thanks. Not sure if it's a good thing the Yeti are becoming scavengers though... Thanks Tomsche! I like its mix of humor (yeti making fire!?) and bleakness (being driven from home and forced to adapt). Keep watching for builds with the logo on them. And yeah, it's an uncertain and tumultuous period for Historica definitely. Thanks LV. Stay tuned! Thanks Gideon! Definitely. Thanks Kabel. I think your advice was good: a few small builds to perk me up again. Thanks! I've been doing a lot of that lately. I have a ton of free time right now but no particularly urgent ideas for larger builds. Well... I have one but we'll see. Thanks Marmot. Historica is a big place with lots going on. Nocturnus is STILL in the midst of a civil war! I think Avalonia is the only fully stable place right now. I have been trying to figure out how to use these yetis in something since I got them!
