  1. Value for money and RRP are also points to consider for those of us who have to pay for our Lego sets.....
  2. Instructions usually take a few weeks/months to go online.
  3. You remember that dig they made in the Sariel interview about the 911 then? "We have one guy who only wants to build in orange."
  4. I see both sides. One one hand, it has interesting solutions to the gearbox issues from the Porsche, 4x4 and some nice building technics. The packaging and whole buying experience has also been a step up. Has there ever been a launch with so much additonal material and attention to detail? On the other hand, there is no getting round that price, except for North America, where it seems better value. There are still fundamental flaws with the gearbox (perpetual upshifting and downshifting, the white clutch), the front end is not great in terms of trueness to the original. Those could have been forgiven had it cost 300 euros or less but I think people are entitled to expect perfection at the price Lego is charging them.
  5. Dark azure like the parts catalogue says.

  8. The letter on the seals will tell you. M was Mexico IIRC.
  9. Thanks for a very entertaining build and review. It seems Lego really stepped up the promo for this set.
  10. 6h20 build time not including breaks and that was with a few mistakes. He did get help to sort the parts though.
  11. Podcast als confirms brake discs WILL be used in other sets. Probably the next supercar, lol.
  12. 4) What does the white clutch gear do and is it really necessary? 5) Is it easy to put a limiter on the shifter to only allow 8 upchanges or downchanges?
  13. Seeing as the leaks ALL propagated from Lego stores, they only have themselves to blame. Same with the UCS Y Wing. AFAIK all the ambassadors respected the embargo (perhaps with one exception) but the stores were doing what they liked. The main thing no one leaked was the huge and unjustified markup on RRP in our countries and that has certainly spoiled the day for me.
  14. According to the podcast, Markus Kossman designed the gearbox and the doors.
  15. If every member is going to post if they bought it or not, the thread could easily reach 200 pages by lunchtime with no actual useful information.....
  16. So from the first reviews it seems the gearbox has the same issues as the 911 - no limiter so yo can go round and round the speeds and the order is not correct in relation to engine speed. Looks like modders are going to have some work.
  17. 420 euros in some countries. Good luck selling them at that price, Lego.
  18. If there is a lot of friction in the gearbox to avoid cracking noises and slippage.
  19. Fake, more like but now some will understand the reason they get upset about leaks.
  20. Reveal then live build stream so you can have a long breakfast! My worst fears are it is an 8speed box in forward and reverse with no shift limiter, as was the Porsche before community mods fixed it.
  21. We may not have tow wait long - 42082 should make us of some of them. Yeah, my bad! 42070 is definitely not a cheap way of getting panels...
