  1. Seems I called it correctly. 42070 in yellow with new PF. This one doesn´t even have a proper A model.
  2. So, the main technical differences between this and the Chiron are the door opening system and electric hybrid feature. I wonder if and how Lego will incorporate the latter.
  3. So basically we are getting a remake of 42070 with a tipper on top and updated diffs and PF for the same price?
  4. With the current Power Functions, even the Top Gear car is too slow. I doubt they will ever make a really powerful RC motor to allow for proper large scale sets.
  5. Not half as bored as I was when I saw the 1HY set list! Fortunately 2HY promises to be stellar.
  6. I´ve seen it for 126 or so in Germany and I got mine for less than 110. It´s just a question of time till pre or post Christmas blow out sales and I would see it sub 100 euros.
  7. 30% off RRP is 125 euros and we will get that before Xmas for sure just like with all the summer wave of Technic sets. Maybe even 110 euros if lucky.
  8. @grohl could you please clarify one point you made in the video? Was your original Lego set design for a 2-speed gearbox with locking diff and then it got changed to the 4 speed high/low one with open diff?
  9. Wait a few weeks and it will be sub 120 euros. 4x4 RC parts will be stronger but I guess you could use the existing driveshafts and PF motors.
  10. So it is possible to add a locking diff and it was part of the original design as per this video.
  11. Neither is Top Gear very family friendly and it also has "specific" views. Seems the original info was about the smaller model rather than the flagship. This one will be similar to the 42050 Drag Racer, I guess.
  12. 8448 is probably a close enough version, even if it is RWD.
  13. Well, that would avoid the need for a sequential gearbox at least. Looking forward to see how they delivery the nitros.
  14. Yes, BWE had the little truck and ATC had the prefab house.
  15. Yeah, 120-130 euros should be possible with a little patience. 42069 got down to about 80.....
  16. Lego have Lambo, Jaguar, Nissan, Audi and Ferrari models coming for 2020 Speed Champions. The next supercar may or may not be from one of those brands.
  17. Good point. It would be nice if someone did a head to head video comparison between both sets. 42069 had a more innovative suspension system, easier to use winch and that easter egg feature to raise the rear section. Plus you get a B Model and a lower RRP.
  18. Yeah, for years people were complaining that none of the mid range cars like 8070, 42000, 42039, 42077 or 42096 had engine linked gearboxes. We have now had 3 of them, all sequential, and apparently none works 100% perfectly as people are still complaining. Perhaps the learning process involves debugging and perfecting the Lego gearboxes?
  19. Now might be a good time to start and would bring it closer to the real model. Either that or just strip out the centre diff like on the Chiron as transmission wind up is hardly a problem compared with all the friction you get from the sequential gearbox workings.
  20. 3 open diffs is not a great start.....
  21. Make the turning circle better for one thing. I think it´s the same box as in the Chiron; 4 speed x 2 range with forward and reverse just with a simpler way to upshift and downshift.
  22. Bugatti gearbox part but not the new hubs from rc 4x4.
  23. The official launch of the real car is now live streaming on You Tube. Here is another presentation.
  24. If the transmission is indeed high and low range then it´s likely they are going to use the new gearbox part from the Chiron.
