Ch ll: Team Simon: Cat B: Troops to Avalonia
Scaevola replied to TheUtilityBelt's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice work, I like the gold detailing and the white part of the gate. Nice figs as well -
Nice little wall. Not sure I like the studs as grass though. I like the figs overall too, but I think the guards shouldn't be identical

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Scaevola replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Both are pretty important. Though in my opinion, the prizes and chance of winning are greater in SG, but in Challenge II you can gain more influence in the overall GoH storyline. Sorry that doesn't quite narrow it down for you but... -
Thank you everyone @Gabe I can see what you mean about the dense foliage (and it should be fairly easy to do in another moc) so I'll withdraw it from the claim. I haven't looked into GIMP yet simply due to time shortage (my athletic season was at its climax, and I have to study for my final exams, but I should find time soon) @SK Thanks, I couldn't find a door I liked, but I see now its absence is quite conspicuous @Thomas of Tortuga Thank you. I completely agree with you about the parapets ( I mostly used the figs as an afterthought to tie it into my storyline). The foliage is actually spread on three 1/3 brick high levels, hence the slight overlap for some of the pieces. Due to my shortage of baseplates though, I couldn't heighten the hill like I wanted to.

Superb moc. Every aspect of this moc is spectacular from the the stonework and roofing to the texture of the trees and the innovative usage of light blue in the landscape . I cannot wait to see what you will build next!

You already outdid yourself with one ship yet you submit another superb entry ! The sides of the ship look great with the plates and ornamentation, (especially all the oars). I also like the sails and mast. Very well done

Thanks everybody for your comments @Kai I've been taking the pictures outside on cloudy days, but in the shadow of my house. Maybe I'll try taking the photos in my yard. Also, I edited the post to include the claims at the top of the post @krono111 Thanks. I tried the stalks but I couldn't really get behind it (it seemed to leave a lot of gaps, and it was hard to insert them with the other foliage pieces already planted)

Baladil Plantation, Hacienda I'd like to claim a UoP credit for: Anthropology: Life in Kaliphlin 005 by scaevola11, on Flickr Due to current developments in the Quatarian civil war, Imperator Baladil of the Urgaul Pact called for a council of war with Haladin, his Archduke of Greater Quataria, at his luxurious plantation near the town of Urgaul. Baladil: With the assassination of the Chancellor at Anemaquar, the Principality is in shambles. A swift, upward thrust at their forces in Quataria City would force them to sue for peace Haladin: Wherefore our armies are currently occupied in harassing the border governates, it seems it would be prudent to regroup before we strike, perhaps at Ramon Baladil: Our element of surprise is more important than a few more centuries (a Roman word for a group of 100 troops; is the root of the English word). Few forces will be concentrated in the metropolis since we have been prosecuting our campaign on the border townships. Therefore, the ramshackle shantytowns around Quataria City will be nearly devoid of soldiers. Haladin: Well stated. If we ardently and effectively achieve this objective, the war will swing greatly in our favor. (From left to right: Imperator Baladil and Archduke Haladin) Now for a general description: This hacienda is one of several extravagant plantation houses dotting the colossal Baladil Plantation, in the Township of Urgaul. The workers cultivate a variety of different crops, but mainly Quatarian staples such as plantains, sugar cane, tobacco, and black lotus. Black lotus is the primary article, being a powerful hallucinogen inducing flower (the violet-colored flowers in front of the hacienda; named for black seeds and ooze). While the effects are intoxicating, the lotus is still highly coveted by priests as a method of "communing with the gods" via burning them in pyres and inhaling the smoke. Baladil, being the planter, is in charge of the overall administration of the plantation and sale of goods. 009 by scaevola11, on Flickr A close up of the ornamentation 013 by scaevola11, on Flickr An angled view There are more photographs on my flickr . Scaevola replied to krono111's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice entry, the the rock and landscaping are good. The tree is also excellent, -
Good work, the wall section looks very cool, as does the bridge. Some more leaves would help for your tree though
-
Nice work, I like the combination of yellow and white tiles. Nice parts usage with the back of the sith lady's head as the face for that minifig (forgot her name)
-
Nice work, the autumn colors of the trees look good and I like the figs

Nice work, I like the milling machine. I like the snow-scaping with the slopes, but it would look better if more of the studs were covered. Good start and keep up the good work -
[CH2] The journey to Hembrygga - Category A, B & C
Scaevola replied to narbilu's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very nice job with this. The story was quite interesting (yes, I read the whole thing ) and I like Hembrygga, especially the arches from which the water flows under. The main tower could have been enhanced with some more texture variation, but nice work all the same -
CH II: Team Simon: Cat A: Losing the Dwarven tunnels
Scaevola replied to narbilu's topic in Guilds of Historica
I like the drueggar. I think I commented about the pillars in your other recent thread, but other then them this is really good -
Nice work, I like the slopes-up rocks and the landscape. The tunnel is excellent too, but I think the pillars would look better without the blocky pieces in the middle
-
Nice work here, I like the stone wall (especially the foliage). Nice usage of those shutters as well. +1 UoP DoH for all claims
