Marvel Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion
DuckBricks replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Regarding the helmet - clearly Lego set off to make a universal helmet mold so they could save costs on bringing a range of diverse characters with unique helmets, like Detroit Steel, to store shelves. Did they succeed? I dunno, it does the job as a universal helmet but some really unique helmet types, like Wasp’s, really don’t fit well at all. I do undertsand the reasoning behind the creation of the piece, though.- 3,962 replies

Interesting - looks like the EU magazines with minifig foil packs have made it to the US - my local Barnes and Nobles had a bunch of the Training Lloyd ones, which I grabbed for the suit and unprinted mask. I’m glad these are finally showing up!

Hey all, With the release of Go Brick Me, I’m looking to use the bases of the two figures you get plus extra parts in my collection to closely approximate the Comic Con Brickheadz to complete my collection. I was searching for the instructions for any of the convention exclusive Brickheadz online and could only find a Reddit post for 41498 Boba Fett and Han Solo in Carbonite. It looks like the inventories of a few of them (namely the early DC ones) are on BrickLink but I can’t seem to find any instructions besides one YouTube video showing how two of them are made. Thus, does anyone with the sets listed below happen to have the instructions they could share by any chance? Much appreciated! 41490 41491 41492 41493 41496 41497

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
DuckBricks replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I’m sure they’ll eventually get taken down, but the issue is that many of the show’s most die-hard fans will have already seen them and watched them on YouTube the day they came out - just look at Eurobricks, where there was a discussion on each episode immediately after release. Will some people who participated in the discussion see it again when it airs? Probably. Will everyone? Definitely not - there’s at least a substantial number of viewers who will have been satisfied watching the first time around. As to how big of an issue it actually is, I’m not sure - this happens every season to little effect, but the fact that TA actually retweeted it and drew it to everyone’s attention means at least he is concerned about it, which is a little worrying.- 4,591 replies

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
DuckBricks replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
The problem is the recent season isn’t a cam - it’s in relatively good quality (pretty much HD) on YouTube, and somehow they haven’t been taken down due to copyright infringement. If it airs at different times all over the world, there’s a lot of fans who will resort to the HD versions on YouTube if it doesn’t air on TV when they’re free.- 4,591 replies

Apparently we discover Mr. E’s identity in season 9 according to TA - I’m guessing that’s something Nya and Lloyd deal with. Also, OG Ninja Team is back! Super excited for season 9.- 4,591 replies

Star Wars Constraction 2018 Discussion & Rumors

Yup, he did, and Mark Stafford was even wondering where the info was from as they had been planning a third year for a while. So I guess we will see. -
Star Wars Constraction 2018 Discussion & Rumors
DuckBricks replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Yeah, that’s... pretty much what I said. It was obviously fake, but the construction community was really grasping at straws there, even when it was clearly fabricated. -
Huh. Usually the dragons are really, really good - especially in a wave focusing on dragons, I’d figure the builds would be great - but these are mediocre, especially the heads, which are usually done so well. I guess Kai’s dragon is done relatively ok, but the printer eyes are really off-putting. Let’s hope they look better in the flesh, as I remember Lloyd’s MechDragon looked extremely odd and disproportionate when prelims first came out but ended up being my favorite Ninjago dragon set.

I agree here - the NRG suits remain some of my favorites ever made for the line, despite not really appearing in the show. I do understand the want to get standard outfits in cheaper form - but if you’re buying $10 spinners for normal suits, why not go to BrickLink and get them for much less?

Star Wars Constraction 2018 Discussion & Rumors
DuckBricks replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Someone claimed he had seen the summer sets catalogue for this year and there was a new constraction theme coming out. When pressed for details, all he could say was that it was computer-themed with virus enemies, and always had some excuse for not knowing the name of the theme or any details at all. The rumor was already implausible because summer catalogues aren't sent to retailers that early (I believe it originated in September or October), so there was much reason to heavily doubt its credence, unfortunately. And man, I really, really hope the AT-RT and to a lesser extent the Super Battle Droid are released somehow, although it's looking really bleak. I was really pumped for the AT-RT too - it looked like a change of pace from the norm and would have made an awesome display piece. -
[RUMOR] Bionicle might be returning in 2019
DuckBricks replied to TwistLaw's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Honestly, as much as I'd love this, there's no way I can see this happening given G2's pretty substantial financial failure and premature cancellation. Maybe a new constraction theme, as rumors have been swirling to that end, but I'd doubt a big Bionicle comeback just a few years after the sudden cancellation of G2. -

I guess people are thinking it's Young Wu? I dunno, it looks nothing like his in-show appearance during flashbacks. Maybe the wrong head was placed on the figure? Oh, by the way people were talking about these, I assumed they were along the lines of Visual Dictionaries which always have exclusive figures. Thanks for providing the link - it's just those activity book things that always reuse figures. That makes me feel much better; at first I thought two spots were wasted.

LEGO DC Villains (Videogame)
DuckBricks replied to LEGODalekbuster523's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Interesting! I can totally see that being the storyline. And that leaked figure has got to be from the game. I always love it when TT Games makes original stories for the Lego videogames, so I'm really excited for this one especially after the excellence of Marvel Superheroes 2. -
Sure hope the other one is casual Harumi, it makes sense to release a book around now with that figure.

I just wish the connection point in the hilt was the other way around so we could make screen-accurate Elemental Swords and Golden Weapons, although I understand it may have looked a bit clunkly with a blade going out of the dragon’s head.

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
DuckBricks replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I think it was intended to be just random names and things a kid would make up; not to have any meaning in it. There isn’t anything in the comics or expanded universe material that reflects this.- 4,591 replies

Just grabbed the store calendar, can confirm it’s 100% PIXAL. Well huh. That’s an odd choice to represent Ninjago. I’ll take it, it’s just weird..

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
DuckBricks replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I doubt it, as it’s officially an evergreen theme, but I can’t help but shake the feeling that they’re gearing up for a big finale here. I dunno, I guess we’ll wait and see. It would be a shame for it to end just as the fight choreography and story got this good...- 4,591 replies

I really hope so, especially because Harumi in her royal robes was used for all of one episode and then every other episode featured her in casual clothing.

Does it? All it revealed is the baby’s identity, and while it can be speculated he will become the master of dragons, there’s really no proof as to why that would be the case. The only reason as to why it might be him is because it’s doubtful it’s any of the six ninja, and even that’s up in the air as we have no idea what the dragon master even is at this point.

Really? That’s awesome; thanks for the heads-up! I don’t go to Walmart often, but will be sure to make a trip to get a few of those, if only for the suits. Thanks!

Yeah, I was more talking about the current exclusivity of the black suit - I bought a bunch of the Nya CMF to have all the training outfits for the ninja, but right now the cheapest way to get the black suit is in a $9 Training Pod (unless you go to Legoland and get the buggy polybag) so it’s a bit harder to have them all together in a display.
