  1. Just found 2 (very beat up) Cavalry Builders in a clearance bin, discounted from €15.99 to €5.59 each! (making it a 65% discount) There were some Ninjago and Chima sets too, but I had no interest in them.
  2. There is a very simple reason for the flowers and green-leaved trees; you should remember from the movie it was actually summer when Elsa set of the eternal winter… The orange flowers do bother me, from a design point of view; I would have liked it better if they were a pink/purple/blue/white color. Same goes for the leafy bits; they could have used the pink/purple ones they are gonna use in the Elves sets. It would have been fantastic if they had given us WHITE leafy bits (like snow covered branches)! I'm sure loads of us could use those in our MOCs!
  3. I did not realize I wanted that until now
  4. That's very cute, and very believable as an actual Lego set!
  5. Ooooooooooh << honest reaction
  6. Fantastic! Classic Prime! The likeness to his glorious 80's self is uncanny! And the fact it's transformable makes it even better!
  7. There always is a chance of slight differences in color, even within the same set/box. But it is very strange that one piece seems yellowed… You could always ask for a replacement piece via the Lego website; they'll send it to you for free
  8. We have loads of topics about this… Can't this topic be closed, admins?
  9. My friends, partner and immediate family don't care about lego, but know I adore it. my niece's husband is an AFOL, but I don't really have contact with 'm. I had the same "problem" (and still have, to an extent), but I found a simple solution: I told everybody, if they wanted to give me a Lego gift, they'll make me happy with Basic/Classic sets (I can always use bricks for my MOCs), Creator or Friends sets (again, most bricks in those I can use), minifigs (some extra inhabitants to my dioramas are always welcome), and they can always get me gift cards. And my friends and partner know I don't want Technic or merchandise. Of course which sets or bricks you can use differ from person to person, but I'm sure there are some general (and EASY to get for non-fans) gift ideas you can come up with; maybe green baseplates, or Star Wars micro's, or whatever floats your boat. Or ask them to ask you what sets you want. I'm always thankful if people buy me a Lego gift, even if it's something I'm not very interested in; there are always some bricks in there I can use, and I'll just sell the rest. I did get a freakin' box of DUPLO for the holidays, from somebody not close to me, as a jokey gift… did kinda piss me off; if you wanna blow your money, at least get something I have some use for! A Juniors set or something! The joke would still work ("haha, you're a child for liking Lego), and I'd actually get some use out of it… idiot...

  11. Just got the Heartlake Juice Bar at my local drugstore, reduced from €33 to €25, and now half off! So it only cost me €12.50! Making it a 62% discount And I got 41034 Friends Summer Caravan at half off because the box was heavily damaged (I could not care less; I just use the Friends sets as parts packs)

  13. There's already a topic about christmas presents in Community. Do we really need multiple topics about this??
  14. I was happy to find some lego with my gifts this year! All sets I'll use as parts packs. Got some gift cards as well, might save those for Elves. As usual most gifts this year were very practical (things like new bath towels, cutlery, underwear and home accessories), so I'm very grateful I got some 'fun' gifts as well
  15. These are absolutely gorgeous! I'm salivating at al the post-apoc-coolness! I am kinda taken back by Mya White's chest hair… not really a feature you see often on a girl
  16. Stunning! Attention to detail is amazing! The dragon cave is a nice idea; using that otherwise wasted space. I love the smoke! I might have to steal that idea! Can we see what's behind the gray doors in the base at the back?
  17. It's an absolute feast for the eyes! I'm sure our friend Eurotrash would love this
  18. Ah, of course I am, how stupid of me.
  19. Just saying "this" is not really helping. You might wanna add a picture or a link so we can actually see what you're talking about
  20. … found what?
  21. As a matter of fact I've been without a job for the past year as well. Still haven't been able to find a job. But my previous job paid enough for me to rack up plenty of savings, and (at least in this country) we get Social Security. I don't spend as much money on Lego as I used to, but I can still enjoy my hobby! I look for good offers on the internet and in my local shops. This is actually giving me a thrill; finding sets at half off! Also, I ask for Lego sets for the holidays, birthday, and any other occasion. To make some money back on the Lego I've bought, I sell the bricks and figs I don't use
  22. Maybe Studski and Clutch from Lego City Undercover can give you some inspiration
  23. Brickset.com has added loads of pictures of the CLASSIC sets. Gives us a great look at what's in them!: http://brickset.com/sets/10696-1/Medium-sized-blocks-set http://brickset.com/sets/10694-1/Building-blocks-supplemental-set http://brickset.com/sets/10693-1/Building-blocks-supplemental-set http://brickset.com/sets/10692-1/Building-blocks-set Some examples:
