  1. Beautiful Elven Scout and über cool assassin!
  2. Hello beautiful Eurobrickers... After having sat on my Griffin http://www.eurobrick...3 for the better part of a year (not literally, that would be really uncomfortable!) I thought I wasn't going to wait that long to show a Manticore build... To be honest I'm surprised I haven't seen one before anywhere... with the Chima Lion and Eagle Legend beasts slotting together so perfectly for the Griffin I thought it would be in people's conciousness to build more of that ilk... *shrug* Anyhow it was a simple little build but looks very dramatic on the battlefield... and it is has some studs behind it's head so it's minifig rideable - although I don't know who would be crazy enough to do that. Enjoy and C&C as desired. Much love D
  3. Griffin1 by Jeddy and Daddy, on Flickr Griffin 2 by Jeddy and Daddy, on Flickr It has got studs showing so it will serve as a useful mount for future armies. much love D P.s: I'll see your Griffin and I'll raise you a Manticore (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=105331) :P
  4. Love them! I'm new to all this GoH so haven't quite got my head round all that stuff... but I love the mix of uniformity and individuality throughout the LSS. And super work on the Banner - it took me forever to figure out the best way to get that attached (the Rohan banner is the reverse of practically all other clipped banners I could see!) much love D
  5. Yup... http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=76621 The scouts were the first thing that suddenly "got" me... and that was it! When I outline the rationale behind my unit design and battle functions for my elf army: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=105135 you will get the credit you deserve... @ min 1:41 shows my take on your beautiful elf scout idea. much love D
  6. Dragged me out of my dark age! (good) Made me spend money on Lego (less good) Spawned a new and enduring joint hobby for me and my son (very good) Made me spend too much on Lego (never ever meet the wife!) :D Much love D
  7. Great figs and a REALLY fantastic cake - makes me hungry!
  8. Love all these - any updates on the Drow heads?
  9. It's YOU! *rubs eyes* It's YOUR fault!! Hadn't put two and two together... You and Wardancer and jFox are responsbile for dragging me kicking and screaming out of my Dark Age... and into the army building business in the first place! Thank you Super much love this time David
  10. heh - not if the cheapest http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?M=col018 is $13.5!!
  11. Looks like a brick forge helm? With a splash of paint?
  12. I like it - definitely out of the box thinking... might not get the love it deserves as I don't *think* wild west is as popular as fantasy etc but still good... I can imagine a posse off to chase some stud robbing bandits! In terms of improvement... perhaps there could be some different coloured hats / guns... or the odd trouser or top maybe... so that they are all similar but slightly tweaked - not sure how "uniform" clothing would be in the wild west.. but a great group of minifigs and a great idea none the less! Much love D
  13. Great stuff - lots of cool building options for a skelly army... Would love to see when anything's ready! Much love D
  14. In the light of ED-209's brilliantly explained post about printing companies and intellectual property and whatnot... Isn't poppunkmonkey completely disregarding all that with regards to money changing hands? D
  15. +1 my friend! I couldn't agree more - creative thinking and colour matching is deffo the way to go IMHO! I would love to see your units whenever you're ready Much love D
  16. Yah - you see this is what I mean... I have no idea about it's historical accuracy / authenticity... this maybe exactly what a Spartan Army would have looked like - with no possibility for variation. Fine. But... as an army... no - it's a collection in my opinion. If we forget about the historical side of things and treat it as a fantasy/medieval/castle-type army then you can't argue much that it is particularly well thought out... it's just the same over and over except for the general/leader with a different shield and sword.
  17. See - not so bad! 5 different types of weapon carrying uruk hai and 2 different personality models... keep (le)going keep (le)growing Much love D
  18. I don't know - I suppose the trick is to get creative... be flexible on colour schemes when possible... scour BrickLink for torso assemblies or even just the torso on its own and find some cheaper arms for them! But i guess I'm just focusing on minifigs... I mean if you're looking at €350 budget for an army, then €2.5 per minifig gives an army of 140 units... not too shabby! D
  19. Absolutely... after all armies are not necessarily 100s and 100s of the same model. I think that armies are built best from squads or units of different troop types. So even with AmperZand's 30 odd units... you could easily have 3 squads of 10... or 6 squads of 5 models - plus a couple of more individual or unique models. Plenty of opportunity to create specific / strategic troop types and yet have the uniformity of army colours. (NB: my favourite article I've read on this is: http://exploringbeli...f-uniforms.html and I deffo recommend if you're interested in army design) 5 years! RA you gotta post something... I've spent ages sitting on stuff because its really not ready or I want to build them up more... but I know if I waited until it was just "right" then I'd have never posted anything... funnily enough - within a couple of hours after filming the core troops I'd already changed the wardancers AND the spearswords again! But I wasn't going to refilm it before i posted because i'm sure I'll tweak them again before I'm finally happy to say.. FINISHED! (and then I'm sure the new Elves fantasy range will appear in the shops and I'll have to re-jig things again ) Much love D
  20. Is there a better pair of Lego building brothers out there? 2 thumbs well up! D
  21. Too slow on the congrats - just to say I really love the army builds here... Thought out and balanced! I think I even prefer it on its own without the diorama... But I'm more of an army builder than a MOC-er... None the less 2 thumbs well up! Much love D
  22. Sorry buddy - my poor communication... I like armies on their own... No MOC necessary in my opinion - a well developed and thought out army in formation or marching is beautiful enough as it is! I guess in the same way MOC-ers encourage, inspire and challenge each other with their builds... I want to do the same with people building armies... I want to see more of http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=98232 but with fantasy armies! Much love D
  23. Thank you for posting - and this is exactly what I like and hate about the majority of armies out there! Love the orcs in black armour with the breastplates with red markings (middle front) and I also love the large white hand banners for the Uruk hai... But why have the gundabad orcs not have weapons? Not any of them?! And have you thought about what type of army it is - how it would fight... What type of units it should have? The MOC's on your Flickr page are beautifully designed and thought out - the army here feels less so to me. (I still think it's cool you have a good collection of models though) Much love D
  24. There are more than enough parts to build great armies for all the fantasy factions that have been mentioned many times in this thread already. Do I want more stuff to be released? Yes of course! Do I also think that if people were half as inventive with their army building/collecting as they are with the building of their (frankly breathtaking) MOC's on here then would we be having a different type of conversation here? Yes again! And I'm not including painting or cutting or customising in the manner of say Wardancer and the rest over on the customisers forums... 99% of the armies I've built or planned to build are just being selective on a theme and popping and swapping arms and heads! Much love D
  25. The only RTS with this army is when my son launches some boulders into them with a lego catapult from the King's Castle 70404 set! Sure will do!
