Yeah sorry - the core troops have been exposed on their own for too long - been buggy at our Lego household - have all the models ready just need to find time to film and post them (and not get too distracted by other projects in the meantime!) As soon as I have some stuff ready I'll let you know...

TUTORIAL: Remove print from decorated elements
nine09nueve replied to Hinckley's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
As a dentist in a former life i can give a professional agreement to the Lego Dr! (Mebbe I should change my avatar name to LEGO Dentist?) yes Arm & Hammer as advertised as a baking soda toothpaste has small amounts of soda in the mix - this grittiness is what wears stuff away Now you'd have to go some to knock off significant amounts of enamel on a one off or using it gently/sparingly/occasionally but no I wouldn't recommend anyone using it 3 times per day, every day for years and years - that would strip a good chunk of someone's precious enamel ! Having said that if you're guzzling fizzy drinks - especially diet ones which are super acidic you'll be dissolving the enamel away anyhow so what's a bit of gritty toothpaste amongst friends? (And don't get me started on fruit teas... Hot acidic liquid all over your teeth!? Definite 2 thumbs down) Much love and don't have nightmares kids! -
Great idea with the hair drier... Very nice!

Some people are consolidators (happy to do the same thing over and over) whilst others are expanders (need to be constantly doing new stuff) Neither is better or worse... That's life!

Great build - love the swan and the plough tracks are utter genius BUT you are missing the MOST important thing... Where is the ski jump?!
-
Thanks I'll be sure to tell him when he's back from school! Actually not as bad as you'd think - to start with I got a good deal on a bulk of elves - then selling the heads and the hands helped pay for the other bits... and it gets added to over time... and it just meant not spending money on other stuff instead!

Is this just me? (If so I will delete) but links 1,2 and the last one send me to photo bucket which doesn't load but opens up my App Store to download various gambling or betting sites... ??

Should new castles have (raised) blaseplates?
nine09nueve replied to Artifex's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well that's settled then! :D -
Thanks - The aztec heads were inspired by jFox's beautiful scouts... and everything else from you (and Wardancer) as I've said before on another page. Yeah capes would be nice... I had bought some from Cape Madness which are brilliant frankly - will used them again in a heartbeat... except that well if I'm buying them in those quantities it bumps the price up - I need to get in partnership with them... hang on there's a thought! ***IF CAPE MADNESS IS OUT THERE READING THIS... I'D LOVE TO SHOWCASE / ADVERTISE YOUR WARES.... MAYBE DO A BULK DISCOUNT DEAL FOR SOME HEAVY PROMOTION AND LINKS TO YOUR STORE???*** *rofl* A guy's gotta try! +1 agree 100% lots of options for creative army builders!

Heh - well let me know if it's any good... (i'm thinking not but I'm rooting for you buddy in any case!) Yup - tried 3 other wing options - bat wings were my first choice but didn't look right... also tried 3 different colours of dragon wing but the black/dark red were the best fit!

Who wants my Castle mini-figs?
nine09nueve replied to rickfromkrypton's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well - obviously not if rickfrom krypton's just found a sneaky work around eh?! -
Hey you're welcome buddy! Well I only do Elves for the moment (although there are always plans...) but that's still a ton of minifigs you have! Will check out the other post Much love D

Nice I like the "old skool" style of the soldiers with modern faces (even if I do prefer yellow heads!) I like the blue head on the others' mounted rider - where's it from? Much love D

Thanks - it took a whole to design / think them up and then test them on my mood board... I missed out on collecting a big mess of CMF elves so I had little choice but to go with less metal and more leather / wood in the design phase... But I'm happy with that as a wood elf theme (although I love the Elves that you've done too!) if I return to Elves I may go for more armour and brighter colours and lean towards a more "high" elf faction... I will PM you with some thoughts if that is okay? Much love D

You know me too... I kinda hate most built when there is a moulded one available - how can you beat the beautiful wargs for example? But when I first saw the legend beasts in their boxes and after putting them together to make the griffin... I just thought a manticore must be easy enough since it's just all lion - and it just worked (IMHO) You know what - I've been wondering about that for a while - I think you just inspired me with the how! (It won't be for a while though - I have probably spent too much this year... And I haven't bought anything in February!!) Time to crack open The LDD again. Awwww dancer - the elements on show are great but the trouble is that I'm no good with those big bits... Can't seem to get my hear around them : (

Yeah I was happy with it... (until I saw Siercon and Coral's fire breathing dragon! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=105349) ...my poor thing doesn't stand a chance against those flames! Hmm... maybe if I can find a way to get it to launch its spikes?!

Thanks everyone! I had to buy extra tan and dark brown pieces... The more I played with the colours and shading... The less I liked the light bleys from the Eagle/Lion legend elements... But the black from the dragon wing and the spiked tail seemed to just fit... Which was nice! Much love D

New Decals for Castle torso's
nine09nueve replied to firefly101's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Yeah I totally get the personal use argument but that wasn't what I was referring too and that isn't what poppunkmonkey is doing. And I've heard (and seen) a bricklink store has been closed due to printing lego logos for money on custom materials (not plastic torsos)... Perhaps this is the beginning of the end for anyone using TLG images on stuff and trying to make a profit out of it. I'd be seriously surprised if TLG tried to prevent anyone using their logos on home brew stuff which is purely for show or play - that would be more Games Workshop's style... and their fanbase pretty much hates GW for that (and other stuff) D -
Yup - gotta love them Hoods! They cover a multitude of sins... D
