  1. Absolutely beautiful work! All the little details really make the difference. Does the suspension function, or is it more for looks? Brick_Sticker
  2. Looks very good, any attachments planned for it?
  3. Are you looking for realism, or functionality? (or both?). It's sometimes hard to get both in Lego, at least on a moc friendly scale. This is an engine I built about a month ago, kind of a generic representation of a Cummins inline 6 cylinder: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=539768 It has an intake and exhaust manifold, turbo, brake air compressor, starter motor, oil and fuel filters and looks mostly like a Cummins. It also has an axle that runs through the entire motor to drive the crank pulley and front accessories. So while it is a 'technic' engine, you really can't see much except a spinning pulley. On the other hand, a real engine looks like this, and not a group of pistons with no valves or cylinder heads. I guess my point is, it really depends on what you're trying to do. This engine is based on the technic piston scale, i.e. it is 14 studs long (each cylinder is 2x2 x 6 cylinders). However, as it sits it's also physically too large (out of scale) to go into say, the 42009 crane. It would probably work fine in the Unimog. I love to see a mechanical engine such as the LPE engines, but I also like to try replicate as closely as possible something that is real. I'd love to see more ideas though. Brick_Sticker
  4. Very nicely done, the gear setup in the rear for driving the differential is particularly clever. Lot of stuff crammed into a small space!
  5. Lego and rapid dangerous projectiles....it was bound to happen sooner or later!
  6. I have this set as well (thanks to a very perceptive brother), and I would definitely say get it. Even if you don't build it, it is an excellent parts pack, along with a few uncommon/unique pieces such as the long rope, the small short ropes with 1x1x1 stud, 32L axle, and the red sliding 8 tooth gears. If you do build, it is fairly involved, but enjoyable. Its performance is not overwhelming, but it's a very good set for what it is. By the way, the B model is also fantastic, which is something to consider these days. Brick_Sticker
  7. Thanks all for the kind words, I will try to have some more mocs coming in the future.
  8. Hey all, just joined this forum and wanted to show off a moc. Having just come out of my dark ages, I'm trying to get the hang of building studless things. While in the store the other day with my brother, also a Lego fan, I picked up the 60059 log truck: This is a pretty cool truck (I think), and since I had just picked up 42008 as a parts pack, why not? So I tried to recreate this truck in technic: Since it's technic, the features include -HOG steering -Opening doors and tilting seats/steering wheel -Mini LAs to operate the boom -Boom swings 360 degrees -Simple claw at the end of the boom -Cab tilts forward, although there is nothing to see underneath but the steering rack And since it's a log truck, a backhoe is always nearby, so let's throw in a trailer and a 42004 backhoe: The trailer is nothing special, flip down ramps and pivoting wheels with a simple jackstand. Action shot: Hope you guys enjoy, a few more pics available at brickshelf: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=539606 Brick_Sticker
  9. Gorgeous lines on all those cars*, color choices are great as well.
  10. Noted, I couldn't remember if it was "Lego" or "Legos". Lego are fun indeed.
  11. Hey all, Long time listener, first time caller here. I'm a 30 yr old AFOL just coming out of my dark ages. The set that did it was the 8110 Unimog. A lot has changed, clearly I've been away too long. Anyway, I've enjoyed seeing all the talented creations here and hope to add a few of my own. Brick_Sticker
  12. Looks very good, and unique. Can't wait to see the transporter for it.
  13. Very nice, with a 1:1 ratio it must be pretty fast? Looks strong too.
  14. Very nice, do you have any pictures of the crank in the engine?
  15. What is the material you are digging? It looks like sawdust(woodshavings) maybe?
  16. I really like the mocs like this, that are a little different. Good work Gabor!
  17. Looks like you are going to be very busy Zbj!
  18. I think it looks just as good with the unimog wheels and tires personally.
  19. As all the others have said, excellent work! The colors and the depth of detail really bring it to life, it's fabuland-lous-ish!
