Wow, I have not been on Euro bricks for a few weeks because I’ve been so busy, and when I get back, I see that my post has turned into a warzone! I’m glad my post has stirred up such fierce emotions. Look guys, either you love it or you hate it. It’s a personal preference. It does not exactly fall under the "Pirate" theme, however I think it’s a neat set on its own. Whether its worth the price or not depends on the individual. The actual Price-Per-Piece is not too bad, but some may feel that dropping $299.99 CAD may seem too steep for this set. Either way, I like it, its unique, and has been very fun. …and for god’s sake, its not supposed to be realistic! -PCVANDO

Lego Black Pearl Music Video - Rebel feat Sidney Housen
pcvando replied to pcvando's topic in LEGO Pirates
I know right! Its really cool! ....Maybe I will build one. No promises though, but I have always wanted to rebuild a ship but using a different colour scheme. - Pintel: "Parley? Damn to the depths whatever man what thought of "Parley". - Capt. Jack "That would be the French." lol -
Hey guys, a friend on mine showed me this music video, and I was quite surprised. This may be the first time a music video has a topic of its own? The featured ship seems to be the 2010 imperial flagship, but built using a different, black colour scheme. I thought it was worth sharing, because you dont always see something like this. Youtube Title: Rebel feat Sidney Housen - Black Pearl (He's A Pirate) [Official Video] Not my video, I just thought I would share.

Hey, I have cleaned every sail that I have at some point or another. Hope this helps! The best way to do this by far is to let them soak in warm water for no more than a few mins. If they have stains or marks on them that you want to remove, use a gentle soap or stain remover. Be careful not to use anything that will stain the sails white, and make sure the edges don't fray. Once the sails are soaked, take them out, and leave them to air dry for a while. When they are still a little damp, Iron the sails on a flat surface, just a few quick passes with the iron, then let the sails sit to cool. Once this process is done, the sails should look superb.

Wow. When I saw the ship in the painting background, I wanted to buy that painting! (and the ship ) The ship is superb, and incredibly realistic looking ;) The ship also has a very good size to it, I love it. I would love to see more of it. This ship raises the bar for future ships. Well done, you have my respect.

Look what I just got - Report your latest Pirate LEGO acquisitions
pcvando replied to V()()D()()'s topic in LEGO Pirates
Indeed, especially when the new Lego Pirates sets are released! -
I would be interested in seeing them if you have time to upload some pics. I have about 40-50 unopened packs of just the colonial mini figure from series 10. I have no idea what to do with them, but I will probably end up just giving them epaulettes and tricorn hats with backpacks. and change out their faces. Or maybe selling/trading them…

Haha! Ok, I will make sure I do a comparison! They are very different sets, but they both stand up to the toughest of criticism, the only thing that seems a bit strange is the Sculls eye Schooners odd colour scheme inside the cabin, with solid blue and red bricks, but it adds to the age of the set, and really dates it!

I have both, they are pretty much identical, except the piece count is different by a few bricks, 896 pieces for 10040, and 865 for the 6285. The only main differences I can notice by looking at both, is that the 10040 colours are a little newer looking, possibly different plastic density, but barely noticeable. The other difference is that the very brittle parts have been replaced, such as any pieces with clips. Personally I have had many break on me. The older clips are solid hard plastic, and any amount of force on them snaps them. They were all replaced with reinforced ones, and ones made of a plastic rubber mix. Overall the 10040 is a little more reinforced and tweaked to be better, but nothing beats the original because of the feel and nostalgia! + Also the 10040 is part of the "Legends" theme line, which brings back iconic lego sets such as the guarded inn, set; 10000-1. The legends theme is no longer outputting sets, I believe it was only in the 2000's.

Both! I have both and they are both amazing! I may consider posting my review soon for the Sculls Eye Schooner!

Hello everyone! I need some information on this Lego set. It is called "Ramboll Oil" and it is a Micro Oil Rig set. It is unnumbered. It was released in 2008. I was told that this set was given away at an Oil event in Denmark in 2008. I have also heard that there were less than 50 ever produced, and I assume even less have survived, since they were not given to Lego collectors, only to Oil company executives and employees who attended the show, most likely not taking care of the set, and throwing away the box. I need some help clearing up how many were actually made, and how much it is worth? If there were less than 50 ever made, this is a very rare set indeed. I have one that is sealed inside, but the box seals have broken. I have someone expressing great interest in it, but I am unsure what it is worth. I could be sitting on a few bucks, or a gold mine. I have no clue. I have been told that one sold for over a thousand a few years ago, but it was sealed. I would appreciate any help! Thanks!

LEGO Ambassador Project: Design a NEW Pirate Sub-Theme
pcvando replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hey! This is great! I would love to help any way I can, I have many pirates figures and sets, and lots of parts, so I think I could help out in building some smaller to medium sets, and I could also help out in a few backstories, I don't think it has to be too elaborate, but like the classic pirates sets, a brief backstory followed by "now you continue the adventure" would suffice! -
Well well well… Where do I start…. You have many options when It comes to ships! Almost any Lego Pirate ship can be purchased in your budget! I have bough both sealed and opened pirate ships on eBay and brick link, some for half to a quarter of their value. Its all about timing. So, in my opinion, it depends on what you want. The first Pirates Lego Ships ever to sail the Seas were the Black Sea's Barracuda, and the Caribbean Clipper! Both Originally Released in 1989! So you have to ask yourself one question…. do you feel lucky punk?! Just kidding! Ask yourself what Faction you want; Pirates, Imperial Armada, Islanders, Red Coats, or Blue Coats. Then ask yourself what type of ship, and how many Cannons!? Then Let us know, and we can guide you further!

Yea, I assume that Vitruvius will continue to climb in price, and queasy kitty for sure, there is one on eBay now for almost $100! Also Benny is going anywhere from around $20-45! It is ridiculous to pay $100 for one fig, especially if you can get the whole set for just $200 more… Also… My 99th post… almost as many as you have right? Nowhere near it ;)
-
haha! Nice!
-
Thats actually a pretty good price considering its exclusiveness… It also seems inexpensive compared to some other figs from The Lego Movie! Vitruvius is $25+ And I have seen him for $45! Benny is difficult to find (a legit version not the real 1980's Blue Spaceman) He is even more expensive! And Queasy Kitty is ridiculous from what I have seen so far...

Haha Its funny you mentioned POTC because I have every ship that lego has ever released sealed, Including the Armada Flagship, Sculls Eye Schooner, BSB, Clipper, Flagship v1 and v2, Black Pearl, QAR. The only thing is that they ARE sealed. So I don't want to open them. I can show you it compared to every other ship in Lego History except for TBP and QAR because those are the only 2 that I don't have a opened one and a seal done. Only sealed.

That is how I felt at first but now I really like the way they used them, it would not be as good if it had cloth.

Love the Mystery Machine and the Original Bat mobile!

I am not a big fan of this line, but I find that the Blue Windows attract me to it, the same way the Caribbean Water Does! Keep up the good review Matey!
