  1. @Kwatchi Back in the day of some court trial MAR vs. ESL I used this flag here from Ska's Flickr: There's also a second one: Also: Great to see some SR fleets victoriously returning home Wait... did I just say that?! Another more general thing... to me the traders income seem a fair bit too high. That is in absolute numbers, compared to property yield (it'll take six months for a 100x100 studs royal property to pay off, and the yield of 500DB can be topped by a medium trade-ship), and now also compared to raids: the MAR raids on practically all ESL settlements yielded 400DB - 'collected' by a ton of ships - which can now be compensated by a single lucky trading 2F...
  2. Just like in real life, soldiers' lives don't matter... You pay upkeep for units - and keep paying until you disband them. Units (that fight on land) fill up with new men over time. In case they were decimated too much, that unit will have to pause the following MCRA. However, as there were no particular announcements as to which units were affected (and the war rules aren't out yet), for now there should be no repercussions regarding all units' next month performance. I'm assuming fort (and settlement) garrisons are a steady number at all times. If ships with complement troops fall into enemy hands or sink, these units just need to be placed somewhere else (using the troop placement form) to see service again at full strength.
  3. Woooo, adventure time ahead! Neat little scene. I'm always a fan of none-standard bases for builds Who's the native? 'Monday'?
  4. Öhh... not to my knowledge... not yet, that is And I see you've understood the reasoning for this rule. Quality. This rule is/was meant to act in the interest of those with less time on their hands, not to be 'steamrolled' by more ambitious builders - or more precisely, not to have them 'rush-build' in reaction to this. Is it still necessary? IMO, it has proven to be working. Hmm... to be honest, now that I think about it, I'd rather have it encompass ship-MOCs, too. But then, as Maxim said - you can always license your builds to benefit other entities - and most of us are part/members of more than one economic entity. Hmm... there is something in the making... and it might address this issue... and it could be announced soon(TM)... Oh, that's simple - the option you regarded as most likely answer: one location is one settlement (plus what used to be regarded as its hinterland) as they are listed in the account sheet. It doesn't sound too unreasonable, but it'd be another rule, complicating things yet a bit more. Ask yourself: would this be worth the extra effort to work it out, explain it, etc. I think leadership oninion is one thing. But more importantly, I'd like to hear what we all think of this. Is there a demand for such a rule update?
  5. Again, this might just be my understanding, but it kinda makes sense - at least in my head Trust me, I know this feeling when it comes to BoBS rules Yes and no... I think () Although not being located inside a settlement, they still add to its value as part of the 'hinterland properties' which used to be a thing in themselves - but not anymore. Now there's one ring to rule them all set of rules for all kind of properties. I don't have the specific values in my head, though. EDIT: Could still be... but then that'd be two of us
  6. Mines are listed unter 'Types of Properties', just like any other type. They just work a bit differently, but they are still only property. Therefore the rules about property have to apply - including the 'number of properties allowed to establish' one. Mines being subject to the general property rules is indicated by them being explicitly excluded from the 'first free license' rule, which wouldn't be necessary if they weren't property. Is there anything that contradicts this reasoning?
  7. You can do at least three, as that's the number of properties you can license in one settlement per month (if you don't license any other anywhere else). However, by my understanding, prospecting scenes aren't properties - mines are. So imo, you can do as many prospecting scenes as your purse allows for
  8. I'd like to offer this (yet unlicensed) small plantation in Lavalette for the RNTC to purchase, so its yield can benefit all shareholders. Is the RNTC interested?
  9. Pioneers at Work - Small Plantation - RNTC - license active Pioneers at Home - Medium Residence - RNTC - license active New Spices for the Old World - Large Plantation - RNTC - license active Fort Henri - Medium Fortress - RNTC - license active Up And Down The River - Medium Commercial - RNTC - license active
  10. Ahoy, y'all, today just a small scene... to get into the mood for some landscaping. Pioneers at Work With the first structures in Lavalette being erected, and more settlers arriving daily, the need for building materials on Stéphanique grows strongly. At the same time, in order to prepare the land surrounding the settlement for cultivation, large areas of the region's forests have to give way. So, naturally, the RNTC has hired a decent number of lumberjacks to deal with the tasks at hand. About: Not really much... just wanted to try out some foliage design, and depict the basics for settlement development. However, what was most frustrating in this was getting those chains right Thanks for looking, C&C welcome Vive le Roi!
  11. Neat little structure, indeed, BD. And although some foliage wouldn't harm, it's a nice example of an early facility in a new settlement. Fits well for now - later it can be KaBLAM'd More please Hmpf-grmpf... but... you are all upside down
  12. Being constantly late on commenting - sorry for that - I'd still like to say that this is a cute little vessel, dr_spock And the story is very comic as usual - please never change that Still have to agree with Garmadon on the sail issue, in Phred's example the upper of the two booms - whatever the correct term is - can be hoisted. One thing I'm missing, though... an apple as figure head Hope she made it through the MCRA... and didn't get molested by youknowwhat
  13. I agree with you here. However, good news: Rumor has it that soon(TM) this 'race' will be replaced by a more customizable approach to expansion, which will allow for a more intensive experience - up to each member's individual preference
  14. *looks at your title* hmm... Go, grab one for yourself! Some might be subject to future challenge rewards, others might see squatter colonies, some might never be claimed... Why not leave this open to lore development? I don't think there's a need to deliberately hand them out to NPC nations, just to 'get rid of them'.

  17. Pfff... you Greenies can be so narrow minded... In politics there's always the possibility to find common interest - and working towards it would serve two or even more sides. It's not unheard of
