  1. After a lot of time in make-up, tons of preparation, weeks of waiting for the arrival of those shiny new walking canes, and the usual bickering about who has to stand by that moldy wall, the members of the High Council have finally been in for their portrait session, and the royal painter BR - no, sorry, not BoB Ross... but BD, yes Blackdeathgr - has created masterpieces that will be presented on the walls of Oleon's Hall of Honor... or - if their policies don't please His Majesty - decorate the walls of the Royal Loo. Anyways, here's a group picture painting: Individual portraits can be admired in this intro thread's first post. A big thank you @blackdeathgr for doing this
  2. No worries, you are the second foreigner in line, so there should be some left And what a generous gesture
  3. Same here! A lot, even! And as a simple story MOC this is even better. I just adore the first picture Great minifig posing as usual, thanks for revealing the entire BoBS globe and the great boardroom really looks new, and like it's about to be filled with productivity and scheming. However, you need to tell the maiden to clean up the place before it all starts - the floor is quite dusty Oh, and fantastic story. But you know that already
  4. I'm all out of answers, but as soon as leadership is informed, we'll let you know here, too For now... well... better stick to the islands we already call home... or occupied territory
  5. The High Council is proud to announce the establishment of Oleon's Royal New Terra Company, initiated by the Duke of Vele, Pierre Lavalette Genaro. All loyal subjects of the realm are encouraged to invest in the RNTC, so that the company may flourish, and bring prosperity to its shareholders and the Empire! Vive le Roi! For the High Council, Guiscard Emery de Beauregard, Duc de Corban et Secrétaire d'État de la Marine. Granoleon, Dec. 17th, 616AE
  6. Hmm... something tells me you do, in fact. The reason for this, however, remains a mystery...
  7. Glad you like it Strange that it's the foreigners that seem most interested in this initiative... Must be the inner Blue you taking over Medals for you... hmm... although not impossible, it'd require contributions of highest value, and exceptional service for His Majesty
  8. Two of those preferred stocky things for me, please Plus, one of the other kind, too Hope this doesn't put me on Calida's death list... right behind the Intendant...
  9. You could just go for a 'regular' bank... run by the Mafia - with a secret room in the back, accessible only for those involved and introduced to this betting society. Maybe @SilentWolf's Mafia of Charlatan Bay now has got a branch business over in Weelond.
  10. We need this before month's end, along with a gambling... mechanism or whatever that's called... Instead of putting money on horsed, or sport-clubs... we'd put it on ships in the MCRA. And whoever hosts this, gets to keep a certain provision. Now... anyone know how to do this?
  11. The Secretary of State of the Navy was so furious, he instructed his subordinates to devise a plan for a wall around Bastion - he'd gotten the idea from some rich snob... It was the undersecretary for public waste management who had to point out the folly of this idea - a wall would obviously only strengthen the city's defenses...
  12. Ah, pepper - cash crop #1, and reason for the entire New World circus to have started... good to see it in Blue hands! Also good to see your workers so determined to turn this into a serious business. And of course, nice overview of the different stages of drying the fruits
  13. Pete's pistol-pepper plantation - very nice! Makes me want to build something similar now.
  14. Franco, it's been a great joyride. I have really enjoyed your story, and I'm delighted to see that Erwin has made it through unscathed. I expect him to be back in Granoleon by the 1st of January at the latest
  15. There's nothing I could say that hasn't already been said about this marvelous MOC. But I still want add my name to the long list of admirers. So I'm just gonna go
  16. Yelling from the last row: "Make Eslandia great again!"
  17. After ESL had published a letter of apology towards OL in the latest edition of the King's Port Advertiser, the Duke of Corban himself - the undersecretary for public waste management who usually handles all ESL-related correspondence couldn't be bothered - wrote a letter, and handed it over to the Minion-powered Oleander Orderly Postal Service (OOPS), which 60,97% of the time is much much faster and much much more reliable than your average postal service - in your face, KPA-distributor! Luckily enough, it was one of these days, so the letter arrived... somewhere in your green capital: To... whom it may concern, His Majesty King Philip I would like to express his appreciation for you finally having found your way to reason, for having put His Majesty's rogue cousin to his place - wherever it may be - and an end to this pathetic charade. The offering of your humble gift is seen with satisfaction, and can be regarded as a step towards the reestablishment of trust between our both nations. Furthermore, His Majesty would like to express that your nation's fall from dynastic rule is seen with concern, as it might upset the cordial balance between our both nations, and make Eslandola less of a reliable partner. His Majesty would like to emphasize that any attempt of spreading such un-monarchic ideas to Oleander lands will meet swift and decisive retaliation. However, for now we are watching your political experiment with curiosity. For His Majesty, Guiscard Emery de Beauregard, Duc de Corban et Secrétaire d'État de la Marine. Granoleon, Dec. 12th, 616AE And - of course - congratulations, Capt Wolf!! May the patience be with you!
  18. This topic has reached HOT-status!!! Fantastic, you two, mega-thanks for rolling this - and cleaning up the MCRA-paperwork in the process - in under a week's time! Now, if you excuse me, I have some minions to slaughter...
  19. Ahoy, fellow KPA-subscribers, Build #1 after the MCRA-results have hit the news - and some jaws the floor. No MCRA-result build, though - something bigger! Well, introducing something big, at least... or contributing to introduce it. Anyway, for now enjoy this here Home Alone Joy was in the air. After many weeks without any news at all, the bulk of the Oleander fleets finally arrived safely in the trading ports of Halos. Some early reports had already hinted at great riches they would haul in. But these reports were all rendered trivial by the sheer unfathomable amount of trading goods from New Terra that was really being shipped in! So there finally seemed to be enough capital around to go through with an ambitious plan the Duke of Vele had proposed to His Majesty. A plan that involved great financial risk. But one that in return also promised even greater profits for all courageous enough to embrace it. And, most importantly, this plan offered the chance to gain a more effective grasp on Oleon's colonial possessions, and promote settling in the New World. There was much at stake. And it meant a break with some traditional habits. A fact that wasn't to everyone's liking... About: I tried to achieve a rather dark atmosphere - matching the Lord Chancellor's mood. And I quite like it, given that there's no after editing involved. What else? Well, all-Lego scene means lots of parts involved (13000+), but it's not detailed at all Hmm... maybe one day I'll build a true temple in this style. And last, but not least: Credits for the candleholder-design go to Garmadon C&C welcome Oh, and stay tuned for more! Vive le Roi!
  20. The High Council is proud to announce the introduction of some new features and a general make-over, that all add up to what we have come to call Oleon 2.1 All new features aim at giving you a deeper experience of Oleon's society, and at awarding active contribution to the cause of the nation and being loyal to His Majesty. To begin with, you can now establish and expand your own noble house! Yes, you've heard correctly - become part of Oleon's ruling social class, decorate yourself with titles, and enjoy yourself as you roam your own estates. And speaking of decoration brings us to the second feature - lots of shiny bling - medals and orders for you to collect and brag about. This might work especially well for you if you decide to join our now more pronounced armed forces (under section 'The Military'), as we will give you the chance to rise through the ranks. Besides this, we have polished the graphics and updated our intro thread - so make sure to check it all out! Oh, and you might want to eagerly look forward to Dec. 15th... when we will roll out yet another new feature that deserves a spotlight of its own Vive le Roi!
